Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Great location in a short walking distance to classy Insadong. Super easy self checkin and checkout. The room was clean and spacious, including the bathroom , not like in other hotels.

SwitzerlandIt was really clean and comfortable, the lounge was also a really great place to hang out! The view is really beautiful and they provide a lot of things like a microwave, a hot and cold water dispenser, plates and a food waste disposal. The shower was really clean and spacious, really loved it. The walls were a bit thin but I luckily didn’t hear my neighbors very often, you also can’t hear any traffic from outside. Would honestly book again!

Switzerlandi understand that due to covid there is an online check-in in process. i would have appreciated if staff would have been there from time to time (just for general questions, tipps about the area, etc.). i haven‘t seen a single person in my 5 days there.
the hostel is very nice. the rooms are spacious and clean. there are several common areas on the different floors with a nice view. the location is tops! there‘s a metro station 2 minutes from the hostel and many places can also be reached by foot.

JapanIn the girls dorm, there NEEDS to be extra toilet paper rolls. For 8 beds, there was never spare toilet paper. Once it was out, you had to find a different toilet to use, which was inconvenient, but to be honest, the closest other toilet is just outside the hostel entrance next to the elevator, and it had a bidet <3 so while I had to exit the hostel, bidet ftw.
The bed was SO comfortable and the linens were really nice. Location was super convenient too, and despite the busy street below, the hostel was always quite and I felt really safe.

SingaporeI couldn't see the owner due to the covid situation, there is no one in the counter but instruction were given very clearly. And I can leave my luggage earlier then check in time in the counter too. Some people might complain about no breakfast due to covid situation, but I like finding my own local breakfast so not an issue for me. There is convinience store right below this building as well. Perfect. There is no laundry service, apparently it s for those who stay for more than 3 days. My roommate on my last day stay : how would they know if you use?... Lol why didn't I think of that, im too honest hahaha. I wouldn't mind paying for the laundry services though.
The room and facilities are so clean. I have been travelling with my colleague in korea before going solo, I have stayed in residence hotel, airbnb, hanok house, and this hostel has the cleanest and best toilet!! Having the toilet in the 4 bed dorm is such a great thing. There is separated room for toilet and shower, connected by basin area that is quite big, with mirror, water cooker, little fridge etc. The towel was given and replaced everyday. Toothbrush was given as well. The bed is comfortable. The window view was spectacular when it start snowing. The lounge areas are very chill and has great view too. Everything bout this place just so nice. The location is great, can access everywhere easily. There are bunch of food nearby. Out of my 3 weeks stay, this hostel is really my favourite. In the 4 bed dorm, there is table and chair in the middle, so can just chill and eat your food on the table, chatting with your room mate. Didn't realize how important that table was till I went to other hostel, no table to eat, no place to sit other than your own bed. There is another two extra table on corner to put luggage underneath and personal stuff above, there is hanger area to hang each of our coat. There is umbrella there, safebox etc. There is curtain on your bed for privacy if you want too. It was winter and freezing outside but the room and toilet was warm. So amazing. I just love this place. Would totally choose here again if I ever come Seoul again. Oh my four bed female dorm is on level 11, there is lift to level11. Finally I dont need to climb stairs!! All other hostel and airbnb I been to in korea, require me to climb stairss QAQ The dorm mate I met was pretty sweet and friendly too. From Australia and Taiwan. Amazing stay for me.

AustraliaThe beds were hard as a rock. So if you are a westerner like I am, it is similar to sleeping on the floor.
The location was incredible. Right near two main train lines and so central! Myeongdong and insadong are a short walk away. Common areas are lovely and chill.

SingaporeIt was a pity that no breakfast was served, supposedly due to COVID. For triple rooms, there is limited space and we had to take turns to pack our luggages. The bed is also on the harder side.
The location was really convenient and close to many attractions like Insadong and Ikseondong. There was no housekeeping due to COVID but fresh towels were provided daily. Check-in manual was sent via email and the instructions were detailed and straightforward.

France- The bathroom, especially the toilet in the room, is a bit difficult to move around (lots of corners, tight) - Not enough space in the dorm for everyone's luggage (no storage, no lockers) - No breakfast
- The dorm, common spaces and bathrooms are modern and kept very clean. - Lounge spaces nice to work in - Excellent location with everything close by (convenience stores, restaurants, shops, tourist attractions...) - Felt very secure and the place is very bright and design - Private TV in every bed, plugs, lights, curtains, safes.

GermanyI found the bed extremely hard, like sleeping on a plank of wood. I'm not sure if this is common in Korea, and I got used to it, but it was quite jarring at first. The hostel also had very thin walls. Noise from water pipes in the bathroom next door and normal volume talking from other guests were very clearly heard through walls. Additionally the neon lights from buildings across the way could be seen through the blinds at night. Earplugs and an eye mask are a must if you are a light sleeper. Even with those slight sleep inconveniences, I would still stay here again, but thought these things should be pointed out since for some travelers it may be a deal breaker!
The hostel is very centrally located for major sightseeing and convenient for many bus/subway lines. The limited staff I met were very friendly and helpful. The minifridge and kettle in the room were convenient for preparing one's own breakfast, and the main lounge had a water filter/cooker and microwaves to prepare snacks. Even though full room cleaning was not done throughout my stay, the room was spotless when I arrived and I was provided with new towels and the trash cans were emptied every day. The 24 hour convenience store on the first floor of the building was also great for anything you might need in a pinch. The contactless check-in and passcodes for the doors was pretty easy and the one night I had trouble getting into the building, the staff answered the phone right away and assisted me.

NetherlandsI'm not very fond of the self check-in procedure. Would be nicer to meet the hostel staff and be able to ask questions in person. Not sure if it's the current law but the breakfast was cancelled due to COVID-19 however all the bars and restaurants in Seoul are fully functioning.
The room was crispy clean and designed with an incredible attention to detail. Very good use of space, nice light, comfy shower. I was able to use the washing machine which I really needed at that time. It is a very quiet place. Rather a minimalistic, boutique hotel than a social party hostel. Last but not least - a perfect location.

AustraliaThe lift doesn't reach to 12th floor. If you have heavy luggage, you will need some muscles to carry.
My parents in law visited Korea for our Wedding and stayed in Hanok(traditional Korean house) in Bukchon for a few days, then I wanted them to feel more modern Seoul vibe near Choengyechoen. They were very happy to enjoy the last night in Seoul at Haru and left to Sydney with great memories. The location is super, the view from the hotel is fabulous. The hotel is just a few steps away from Jong-gak station, is in the middle of CBD, yet not noisy at all. Several bakeries and cafes are next door for breakfast, making the morning trips very easy. The owner helped us to keep our luggage before and after checkin/out, he was truly kind and professional. I was so happy with Haru that I booked again for my parents for their short trip in Seoul next week.
