Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaDid not see any house slippers provided, so to go out to the lounge for breakfast, had to put on shoes. Not sure when the cleaning/housekeeping was done, we had to ask for toilet paper to be restocked and also the shower cream to be refilled.
Location is great, very near to the attractions and also within the city's shopping district. The dorm was nice, only 4 persons. A bit cramped with no floor space for bags, but okay for a short stay. Bathroom was good and clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good, self-service. Common areas were clean and more spacious compared to other hostels I have been to.

AustraliaRather abrupt notices with rules & regulations. This could be a language difference. The owner was pretty uninviting. The food was cheap & awful.
Clean & nice ambiance - soft music & relaxing atmosphere The coffee was really good.

FranceI did like a lot the location of Aha Stay because it is near the tourist attractions and there are a lot of restaurants nearby. The hostel also proposes a common breakfast which is quite nice. The room for three was large and clean.

I loved how close it was to a lot of places I had on my itinerary I took forever to build. The hosts were very helpful despite our language barriers- it is a pity I don’t know much Korean- google translate is my best friend. They arranged a cab back to the station for me - which was extremely helpful with my multiple luggage issue nearing the end of my journey for a month in Japan & South Korea. It is a very convenient location & the room was great- I wish I was there longer- I would have used that clothing steamer (LG) for my dress & had a nice dinner out. The wine/bar fridge was also super nice- but yes a little noisy- what fridge isn’t? The TV was nice. I really have nothing negative to say- it was clean, comfortable, quiet & just what I needed :) I would recommend this place for a great stay in Gyeongju - which I wish I had more time bc there is so many historical sites to see.

PhilippinesThe dorms were ok but if all 4 dormers will have medium-big luggage, there won’t be much room left. But if you’re only there for a night or 2, it should be fine
Walking distance for all tourist attraction and close to downtown

AustraliaNone.
We stayed in a private room which was clean and sized to the budget. There were free laundry facilities, which we were delighted to use. There was a good breakfast included. The bus station is nearby. The guesthouse / hostel was excellent and I would recommend it to anyone spending a few nights in Gyeongju on a budget.

Really modern, clean place, perfectly placed for a walk around the ‘Tomb district’. Really recommend it as a base for some touring of Gyeongju. It has a nice common area to meet people and plan your day!

South KoreaNot all of the bunks in the dorm had full curtain coverage/dividers. My bed didn’t and neither did one of the upper ones. It would have been good to have full curtain separation especially when one of my dorm mates kept their bunk lamp on quite late. Also I wish the charging plug sockets had been a little more conveniently placed. They were quite high up on the wall and there wasn’t a shelf I could easily put my battery pack on so I couldn’t really charge it without holding it.
Although I didn’t stay long enough to use all of them I could definitely see there were a lot of things provided by the capsule hotel which was really good. The beds were also clean and comfy. The bathroom had a lot of space and although I didn’t speak to the staff much they seemed very friendly. The location is also really good and it’s great value for money!

United KingdomEverything, for me, was perfect and I wouldn't change a thing.
I loved everything about this guest house and specifically the fact that not only was it close to the Royal Tomb complex, but it had a family atmosphere where all the guests ate breakfast together. This meant that we made many connections with other travellers, which helped ease the loneliness of solo travel. The guest house is like staying in a family home. The breakfast, though simple, was plentiful and more than adequate. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it 100%.

IrelandOnly place to hang a coat was in an electronic unit and there were no shelves. Which meant I had to use my suitcase on the floor for clothes storage, but there is underfloor heating which can affect things in the suitcase. No real work space for a laptop. There was a tiny unit in a corner far from electric sockets. It is probably only suitable for people staying one night.
The location near to so many historic sites could not be better. Food options and shopping areas abound. The room was new and quite high tech. Light breakfast included was handy.

SpainThe name of the hostel on Booking and on the outside sign is different, so it was difficult to find right away.
It's a great little hostel in the centre of Gyeongju. All the attractions are within walking distance, but the area is still quiet at night. The hostel is new and modern. All the amenities like soap, shampoo, hairdries (even hai straightner) were in the room. The breakfast is a big plus - some toasts, fresh fruit, tomatoes and eggs.
