Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was not anything we didn't like. Avoid rush hour on the elevators however as it could take a long time to exit the building.
The hotel had excellent facilities and a great view from the room and also the rooftop bar. A little far from the beach and attractions, but we booked for the views and comfort, but a lovely place to stay with attentive staff.

United StatesHaving to cross a bridge to get to all the stuff was easy, but it wasn't ideal. I think the quality of Lavalse easily made up for the extra 10 minutes it took to get to "the stuff" each day. I think it'd be worth mentioning the two nearby bridges one can use to cross (assuming you're looking at a map with North at top): The Yeongdo Bridge on the left and another, more elevated bridge (Busandaegyo Bridge) on the right. Both had pedestrian access, and the one on the right looks like a shorter walk, but it involved a lot more stairs and was a far less pleasant walk (fewer people, more cars, windier, and you're deposited at the back of the mall, which is eerily vacant). I don't even think it saved much, if any time. We only used it once and had no interest to repeat it. Use the Yeongdo bridge! I had the misfortunate of suffering from food poisoning during my trip. I can't be sure what caused it. I ate two meals before feeling ill: the breakfast buffet and then coffee and a cake slice at 2pm (I started feeling ill at 4pm). It's hard not to think it was something at the buffet, but I don't think it was any fault of Lavalse (everyone I encountered working at Lavalse was super professional and on top of their game). Buffets are buffets. There are a lot of guests touching a lot of things. Food sits out a while. I think I was unlucky. That said, during my entire Asia trip, none of the breakfast buffets were especially impressive (including Lavalse). From now on, I'll be considering buffets "higher risk". Food prepared on request (from non-buffet places) is usually more delicious, fresh, and (for people who like taking pictures) better presented. If I find myself in a pinch with a buffet as the only viable option, I'll stick with hot foods. While this is the "not like" section, I do want to repeat how awesome the Lavalse staff (and the healthcare professionals) were in helping me.
The view is the big draw for this hotel. Most of the rooms have a fantastic view, and if the view from the room isn't good enough, you can go up to the cafe on the top floor or the panoramic roof deck above that. If you stay on the weekends, there is a lively food cart popup that appears in the evenings at the nearby water inlet, practically right in front of the hotel. The room was bright and clean, with comfortable beds, and effective heat/AC. The cafe at the top floor offered a decent assortment of bready (sandwiches and pastry) snacks, some desserts, and espresso-style coffees. It offered a mix of indoor and outdoor areas, and on one of the times I visited, one of the walls was fully open (so it was all nominally "outdoor" at that point, ventilation-wise). The weather was good, so this was fine. The lobby also had a nice looking cafe, but it was never open while we were there (at any time of the day). There was a small but well-equipped convenience store embedded into the ground floor of the hotel, and I was informed by the front desk that it was part of the hotel so if guests wanted to microwave anything (even if not purchased within the store), they could use the microwaves there. I became ill during my trip and needed some medical assistance, and the front desk was amazingly helpful and thoughtful in both assisting me to get care and then following up with me when I returned. I truly appreciated that. If I am ever able to visit Busan again (I hope I can, I missed almost half of my stay due to illness ), I would easily stay here again (albeit skipping the buffet, which I discuss in the "didn't like" section).

GermanyThe sauna requires an extra payment. The sea view is just a harbor view, containing a big part of land and many buildings. Simple bread and common expresso are too expensive at the top floor restaurant.
The size of the room is pretty big. The bed is very comfortable. The toilet and the shower are separated. The basin area is pretty big for two people to use it at the same time.

FranceSurprisingly we have to pay for every requests. We were traveling with a 3-month old baby and we requested a baby cot. I was warned that they will be extra fee for the crib when I made the request. I was surprised and not expecting that, in my previous stayed hotel, baby crib were complementary. We paid for it and thanks god, that the baby liked to sleep in it otherwise it would like have been a waste of money. Due to sleeping preferences, I asked upon Check-in for an extra blanket. Same as the baby crib, the blanket needed to be paid (if I remember well, not sure) 50,000KRW/night. A little bit excessive in my opion so we didn't take.
Beautiful & Quiet Room with a wonderful view. Breakfast was good but really light on pastry or sweet options. Staff was really nice and helpful. The Hotel is 10 min away from the busan KTX train station by taxi and 10 min away by walk from nearest Shopping Mall & Supermarket. The surrounding of th fotel is really quiet even though there are a bunch of pocha (food stand) down the street.

SingaporeOf all the hotels we stayed in in Korea, the WiFi here is very disappointing. I often could not even log on. No green tea offered in-room, only coffee packs, which is also a bit disappointing.
Modern hotel in a good location. I got the port view room and it’s really beautiful view! Loved sitting by full length glass enjoying my hot drink and taking in the view. The beds were really comfortable too. Room is a bit on the compact side but it was sufficient for me and my companion. I requested a quiet room and it was indeed quiet and peaceful.

United StatesThe area around the hotel was too chaotic, and the sidewalks weren't properly maintained, making it uncomfortable to walk. If you plan to travel around with children and explore by walking, I wouldn't recommend it. Additionally, the entrance to the lobby was chaotic, leading to confusion about where taxis should stop and where to wait when calling for one. Also while staying at the Lavalse Hotel for a week, I needed to do laundry. However, the hotel's coin laundry room was too dirty to use, so I had to use 'Cleantopia Coin Wash' near the hotel instead.
The hotel was generally good. The room size was good, the rooftop coffee was delicious, and the view was nice too, and if you walk across the Yeongdo Bridge, Gwangbok-dong is close by.
