Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyCommunication before arrival was a bit difficult. They could not tell me the name of the bus stop. It's called something like "Shopping district". (A couple of kiosks and restaurants, I didn't need more).
Very friendly owner. You have to use the translator but nevermind. A HUGE room. It's about 3 stops from the NP.

NetherlandsThe village doesn’t have many food options, but there are some and alternatively the owner offers free noodles.
Spotless rooms for a very good price. Free shampoo, noodles, breakfast and coffee. The area is a bit run down with lots of empty hotels, no clue why, but that doesn’t make it feel unsafe. The owners great and does his best to make you feel comfortable. There’s a direct bus going to the park. We chose to walk back from the park which took 40min. You can also stay in Sokcho, but we liked the calm vibe outside of the chaotic city and close to the park.

TurkeyThe whole place was so clean and comfortable. It is so close to the bus station - and it takes 7 mins to the Seoraksan national park. Plus, they're very kind to provide laundry service and free coffee/tea. We enjoyed our stay a lot!

ItalyThe hotel will soon need some modernization and the area is unfortunately a little downgraded (full of decadent hotels and touristic structures that evidently degraded because of a low touristic flow). It is quite close to the Seoraksan N.P. (15min walking to the entrance), but not close enough in the evening, when you are dead tired after a day of trekking. Luckily there is a bus that drives from the entrance (in 5min you are at the hotel).
Great hotel, rooms (korean style) very big, warm and comfortable, with a large bathroom and a mini kitchen. Staff is excellent, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great, too, enough food and enough variety. Loved it!

AustraliaBeds were very hard so I had to layer the blankets up underneath me to cushion from it. There were some mosquitos but they didn’t last long after I declared chemical warefare with the bug spray. No Hot spring as mentioned in the name but I probably could’ve figured that out with some research
Pretty close to the Seoraksan mountains which was definitely the highlight. Free drinks in the lobby which was convenient. Room was big and you could watch YouTube and Netflix on the tv.

SingaporeThe location is not that great. This area is pretty much a dead town, there's not many food in the area, and not many other accommodation. Walking to entrance of seoraksan takes at least 40 min.
Service was great! lady went the extra mile to do laundry for us, folding and putting back in our room. Room is rather spacious, and simple breakfast and refreshment provided.

United Kingdomonly issue is the shower takes about 5-10 minutes to warm up. so run it before you get in otherwise will be a long wait!
The property is very clean, albeit in a quite part where there are lots of old buildings due to a massive influx of tourism that then reduced so lots of empty places. however this place is great! comfy beds, clean. free noodles, coffee, soft drinks. free laundry service. the owners don’t speak English but will easily translate via google and be sure helpful. they bought us beer at the chicken shop and drove into town to give us information leaflets! Wi-Fi is good and easily accessible to the park via walk (30-45 mins) or bus. would definitely recommend and stay again.

GermanyThe Resotel is much closer to Seoraksan National Park than the description has suggested. It is still a 45-minute-walk, but it is worth due to the beautiful first view of Seoraksan. Also, there is a direct bus from Sokcho, which also can take you to the National Park. My room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff could not speak English, but they made a huge effort to communicate with me.

NetherlandsFirst night we slept badly because of the barking dog belonging to the hotel owner. The musquito net in front of the window was also broken so they were swarming across our room. When we requested a different room for the second night this was no problem. Reception was often unattended (which happens a lot in Korea).
Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were allowed to store luggage for a night while we went on a two day hike. Location is very nice if you want to go hiking in Seoraksan park. Laundry options available and the room was spacious.

AustraliaI think some warmer, soft lighting like a lamp in the room would be good. The hot water takes quite some time to heat up but will get there eventually.
The room was large and comfortable. The location is great. The room I stayed in had heated floors and bed! Breakfast was also good. There are some nice touches like a water cooler on my level and ample towels in the room.
