Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyIt can be a bit hard to find, but if there's someone around and you look lost, most likely they will help you to get to the main door. The rooms are a bit small, but it is enough space in all honesty.
Very nice facilities, it looked new. The staff super nice and helpful. The bread was free and delicious. All very clean and there's everything you could possibly need in your stay.

CanadaThe only reason I docked points is because there were no blinds or curtains on the room's window. I was told to wear an eye mask... I ended up waking early because of sunlight because eye masks don't seem to stay on me through the night. MacGyvered a curtain by hanging a blanket off the top bunk (I was alone in my room). Please seriously consider installing blackout curtains.
I loved this place! The manager was an absolute sweetheart and very helpful. The shared kitchen was super clean and we often had croissants to try because they are setting up a bakery on the first floor. The rooms were clean and well equipped, the place was quiet and laidback.

TaiwanThe only downside is that there are no public restrooms except on the first floor. If someone happens to be using the bathroom in the room, it can be inconvenient to use the restroom.
The location is very close to the Seomyeon subway station, which is highly convenient. The staff is extremely friendly and speaks English fluently. The rooms are also very clean, and it gives the impression that the owner is a very attentive person. Although there is no breakfast provided, occasionally there are some snacks available for self-service in the lobby. Before leaving, the owner even gave me some homemade food to take away, which I truly appreciated.

South KoreaVery small thing, but we were recommended to use the shared bathroom for showers rather than the one in our room if we wanted hot showers. Would have been nice to have a shower to ourselves in the room but honestly, no biggie at all and we really didn't mind - the shared shower was clean and we didn't have to wait for others to finish using it.
Staff were amazing, nice and so accommodating. The rooms were really clean and spacious and the lounge was great - free tea/coffee made my mornings better :)

PortugalThe size of the dormitory for 4 is super small. Luckily when I was there it wasn’t all booked, otherwise I think it can get super complicated to have bags of 4 people inside.
Staff was incredibly thoughtful and nice!! Location is perfect, 5min walking from the Seomyeon station. A lot of restaurants and stores close by. A convenience store just by its side. The guesthouse is very clean, the linen smelled great. Towels are quite small though but it’s ok for the price you pay. You can use the laundry room for free, however there wasn’t a dryer machine available( at all). I had to run to the closest self service laundry place to make sure my cloths were ready in time. I believe it’s a very important detail for backpackers and longer term travelers. Common area is super pleasant, with coffee at your disposable.

PolandI was staying in a 4-bed room. If there were 4 people staying at the same time, we would definitely lack space for the luggage (the lockers were too small to place a suitcase inside and there was no space under the beds. There were no bedsheets, however, everything still looked clean to me. Nothing serious to complain, really :)
Nice and clean room, comfortable beds, AC in the room, the public shower was clean and well-equipped (fresh towels and shampoo available), free water available, cool lobby. Everything was fine!

United StatesThere wasn’t really a social atmosphere. It’s not close to any major tourist attractions so you will have to travel to them. Korea has a good infrastructure for public transportation so it wasn’t too big of a problem.
