Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Saudi ArabiaWe didn’t have towels in the room and the rooms are without any charm. The burger restaurant couldn’t serve dinner at 6:00pm since they had nothing ready. They said they could serve us at 7:00pm so we went somewhere else.
Beautiful location.

United StatesThey charge for everything! Breakfast, towels, toiletries, pool, sauna- all of them were a separate fee or available for purchase. The only thing that was free was the parking.
The location was great. There was no need to leave the hotel if you did not want to.

AustraliaThe hotel was over priced for its 4 star rating and I didn't like paying 75,000 won to use a swimming pool that was jam full of people. No hotel should be allowed to charge for swimming pool use

South KoreaI was given a room on a lower floor, so the view was blocked and stuffy. There were not enough towels and cups in the 3-person room. The hotel is so big but has insufficient elevator, so that it took a long long time to wait for the elevator.
Clean and space room.

South KoreaCheck-in took a long time. I was pushed out the way a lot when queueing at the concierge desk. Prices of the facilities and amenities were very high. Felt like I didn't get much value for the price of the room I paid. Using the elevators was a real stress.
Room was very comfortable. Nice views of mountains out the back. Short walk to a nice beach with coffee shops and restaurants.

South KoreaWe had to wait for 1 hour to check in which was very frustrating and our checking out was also understaffed. It is ridiculous to have to pay such a large fee to use the swimming pool which isn't even in the same building as the hotel!
Our bunker room was a fun alternative for our family and the location was good.

DenmarkThe hallways and elevator areas at the hotel was somewhat dirty and not well maintained. Breakfast was rather expensive compared to the selection. No coffee or tea in the room. My major complaint is the high charge for using the swimming pool. 45,000 won per day for an adult. This is not stated anywhere on Booking.com. In my opinion this should be free of charge for a 5 star hotel or at least be informed before booking. We where 5 persons staying for a week, so more than 1,5 million won additional charge for using the pool.
The hotel has a very nice location close to the beach. Fantastic view from the room and balcony overlooking the sea and/or the mountains. Nice and clean rooms with comfortable beds. Good bars with nice food located in the hotel.

South KoreaLack of room service. For a hotel with all the facilities/cafes/restaurants room service was not an option unless you want fried food. No coffee available in the room, instead was a fruity tea.

South KoreaEverything costs a little bit more and there aren’t that many staff available (when I arrived I had to call a number if I wanted a valet to take my car for example).
It’s clean and despite the huge size, you don’t feel like one of thousands.

South KoreaRoom was too small. Everything was additional cost ( late check in/out, additional bath towels, robes etc)
Room was okay for the price (very small) but their private beach and the swimming pool was great. I was little skeptical since the price for the pool was additional (About $100 for two adults and two kids) but I should say it was worth it if you enjoy the spa/ public bath. This hotel is extremely friendly for the pet. Lots of facilities ( bakery, convenient store, restaurants) in the property.

CanadaTrying to contact the hotel prior to our stay was arduous. There were dead mosquito carcasses pressed and dried against the walls of the shower. The "Ground Restaurant" pumped music morning to night (10:30a.m.-10-30ish p.m.) that could be heard in our room constantly.
Ocean view, surrounding area, and adjacency to restaurants and other amenities was appreciated.

South Korea4pm check in time seems a little bit late, their green initiative left the guest with no tooth brush and paste. you have to buy them on your own. The staff there seems to push people to the self check in service which took me longer than the people who came after me at the counter.
Close to the beaches, clean rooms, good facilites overall including places for pets, close to the soft tofu district. lots of places to take picture.

United States- Most of the rooms facing the ocean are across from a pool area and a bar area. From 8 pm onward, if you open the balcony door for some nice sea air, there is (annoying) music. - This part of Gangneung is not that interesting, and the location required taking taxis almost everywhere we went. Usually I prefer public transportation when possible. That said, it was a decent launchpad to explore the area. - No slippers provided, nor toothbrush or toothpaste. Recognizing that people may need slippers and other toiletries, there were slipper/toiletry vending machines throughout the hotel. This struck me as stingy.
Hotel room had a great view of the sea plus a balcony — for me, this is the hotel’s prime selling point. The bed was comfortable. The room was spacious for Korea.
