Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe rooms and showers weren't super warm when the weather got colder, but the beds were very warm and comfy. The location is a little out of the way. As a solo foreign traveller, if I hadn't made a couple of friends there, I might have felt a bit isolated.
The immediate area is a quiet place to settle down and take it easy, but there's enough to do nearby. We took a long walk to Songak Park, a surfing lesson, a walk to Yongmeori Beach, and a visit to the Sangbansan Carbonate Hot Springs, and there are plenty of restaurants around. I valued the place being closer to nature, and Sangbansan Mtn in the background is very pretty. The host, Limbo, is a friendly and helpful guy. The hostel felt more authentic Korean than others I've been to, and most of the guests were Korean.

New ZealandIf only there was privacy curtains in the dorms, this was my only wish.
I have stayed at many guesthouse in Korea and had some questionable experiences with guesthouse owners - but this owner was so lovely! Hands down the chillest guesthouse owner I have met. The guesthouse is located in a really good location if you want to slow down and enjoy the scenery of Jeju-do. My favourite place was the outside room where I could watch the sunrise. The facilities were basic but had everything you needed + the blanket given during winter time was really warm!

United StatesMy only concern was that the dorm didn’t have any type of lockers for each guest to store their stuff in. It may have been because I was coincidentally the only guest in the dorm that night, but if I were sharing the dove with anyone else, I would be concerned about being able to safely and reliably store my belongings with a key
Limbo was a wonderful host. He clearly knows how to provide a smooth and enjoyable stay for his guests — there are guidebooks in the office for food recommendations, a lounge full of misc supplies for any activity you’d like, all of the included amenities were clean and well-functioning, and he was very friendly and hospitable overall. The location is spectacular with a short (under five minutes) walk to the beach!

ThailandBe warned without a car it is hard to access. I had to wait a couple of hours at the airport and there are very few backpackers there at the moment.

South KoreaThe only thing that wasn't great was the kitchen/common area that could have been a bit cleaner.
I hiked the Olle trails around Jeju Island last month, so I stayed in many different guesthouses around the island. This one was definitely the one with the best backpacker vibe, hosting guests from Canada, Holland, Russia, Israel, Germany, and South Korea. Great free breakfast, free laundry service, amazing location, spacious rooms with separate bathroom, and in general a relaxed, open vibe. Limbo is fun and friendly, he has traveled a lot himself, which makes him a great host.

United KingdomGreat value guesthouse. Mr. Limbo is a friendly and helpful host who speaks English. We could easily have stayed here longer. Wonderful view of Sanbang mountain, near the port if you like a view of the water, peaceful surroundings and a spacious lounge area that is available 24/7. Wifi works well in all areas. The dorm room is big - plenty of space for 6 people. Self-service breakfast (bread, jam, eggs) in the morning. Small and functional kitchen for preparing simple meals. Free use of the washing machine. If you have a car, ttottot guesthouse is a very good spot to base yourself. Nice location but getting anywhere around Jeju by bus takes a long time from this place.

Very friendly English-speaking staff. Big dormitory - more than enough place for 6 girls. Clean bathroom. Breakfast included (but you prepare it by yourself - there are eggs, jam, bread etc. Coffee is prepared by host 😁) 7eleven is next door 👍 Bus stop and beach are close too.
