Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LithuaniaNo window. Only one light switch, bear the entrance of the room, not very comfortable. If you would like to extend your stay at reception it will be very expensive.
The location was good, there were a lot of restaurants around, 5 min from the metro station. The room was pretty big, with free water and a fridge.

AustraliaCould be cleaner. The pillow cases had some stains (?old) but my friend and I used towels to line the pillows so it was an easy fix.
Staff were AMAZING! Communication was super quick and helpful. Staff were more than happy to sort out immediate concerns and responded really quick.

BelgiumThe rooms were not clean at all. We doubt the floor was wiped, because it was full of black hair (none of us has black hair) and dirt. There was no room cleaning, but when we asked for it and asked specifically to wipe the floor, the floor still wasn't wiped. Not ok. There is a 'window', but a wall was built in front of the window with a small hole in it, so you don't actually have a window. We did miss daylight in our room a lot.
One of the receptionists (with the gray hair) was very friendly and helpful. He did everything he could to help us. He gave us all the information about the rooms and let us have a quiet room. We haven't seen staff this friendly very often, he did his job very well. Thank you for that! The room was spacious. The location was great, with a lot of eating options and markets.

PhilippinesThe water outlet from the AC is routed onto the bathroom floor, which is then permanently wet. The shower head was a bit small compared to current standards, and placed too low. No wardrobe or cupboards to keep the room and clothes tidy (not a problem if staying for a day or two, but a bit annoying for longer stays like ours). The aircon is a bit noisy (but bearable). No window facing the street. All in all, these are just minor problems if you take into account the spacious room and the price you pay for it.
Spacious and quiet room, complimentary water, pop corn and tea, big comfy bed, computer available, powerful aircon. The location is far away from central Seoul, but it's packed with parks, department stores, restaurants of all kinds and coffee shops. The underground station is very close. There's even a very affordable restaurant in the ground floor without leaving the building. Fluid communication with the management and very quick check in and check out.

This is not the most luxurious place, but for the money I don't think you will find any better. The staff are super friendly, they helped us in all sorts of ways. The rooms are big and have comfy beds. The location is really nice, part of a very lively neighborhood with plenty of restaurants, shops, street food, ... The nearby metro station will take you to the center of Seoul in 30 to 40 minutes.

MalaysiaAlthough this place is near to train station (Hwajeong Station), it will takes some time to go to the main attractions/city centre (around 40-50 min) as this place is in Goyang district. And the hot shower is not "stable" (pulsating between cold and hot shower). Otherwise, we have a great stay.
This hotel has the most spacious room with cheap price during our stay in South Korea (compared to our stay in Busan and Incheon). I love the toilet bidet and seat warmer. The owner also shows some efforts to make sure our stay is comfortable. He even gives us gifts/souvenirs.

South KoreaThe noise, there is a coin singinge room in the building. Since the floors and walls are very thin, you can sometimes hear music. Also...I shouldnt find the enterance in the pictures. I thought this was a hotel but when I arrived (Entered through the parking lot) I realized it's really a love motel. It's pretty empty at Sun-Thursday, but there are more visitors Fri and Sat. You can sometimes hear unpleasant noises (if you know what I mean) from across the rooms. So make sure to bring your headphones.
The location is great. I would stay here again as it was very easy to commute and find stores like the local GS open 24 hours. In walking distance from trains, bus terminals and restaurants. You can take a morning stroll in the park and go out for drinks at night in the same area. It's very lively.

United StatesInitially the hotel was a bit challenging to spot, given it's on the sixth and seventh floors of a business building. However, later you'll strangely find this morphs into a positive! Due to the sensation that, once you've located the hotel, you're "in on a secret" that few people know, and that secret is cool and valuable.
I'm 100% certain that our five-night stay in the dazzling city of Seoul would've been imperfect and incomplete without the Hotel Yaja. It has so many wonderful aspects that I'm not sure where to start. Maybe the location. Without selecting the Hotel Yaja, we would've missed the Hwajeong Station district, which is teeming with life and oozes deep Korean culture, cuisine, shopping, and nightlife. This district has literally the best food (i.e., Korean BBQ, bibimbap, boba drinks, and desserts) that we had in Seoul. Zero exaggeration. That said, perhaps the most important factor in determining how much you like a place is its people, and the shopkeepers and strangers we met here were overwhelmingly polite, considerate, and giving - as in they gave us skewers of candied grapes and other snacks simply out of kindness. They made you feel happy just to be around them. Beyond location, the Hotel Yaja has the most wonderful manager I've ever come across at any accommodation, five-star or otherwise. He's attentive, caring, vastly communicative despite the language barrier, and provides practical solutions, sometimes to issues we hadn't even noticed! The hotel also provides unlimited free-of-charge bottled water that's crystal clear, tastes smooth, and beats the well-known brands I've reluctantly paid for elsewhere. Our room itself was clean and cozy. It worked perfectly for us since our family of five likes to stay close together when sleeping, and always offered the quiet peaceful night's rest we needed between hectic tourism days. Oh, and the Hotel Yaja's rates are super reasonable too. What a delight it was to stay here. To this day I look back on the Hotel Yaja with a smile on my face, and count myself incredibly lucky to have picked it while in a rush at Incheon Airport.
