The most beautiful place I have ever visited in Laos with delicate arrangement of artisan works! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing too. They had a variety of breakfast options to choose from, both western and lao options. And tasted sooo good. Very good location as well. Walking distance (10min walk) from the town yet quiet.

Beautiful Gracious staff! Feels like a home not a hotel. Simple luxury. Impeccably clean. Very accommodating. Breakfast is a blend of Laos and western cuisine. Every element of this hotel is outstanding,

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like

This hotel is a very wonderful place. It’s beautifully furnished and decorated, it’s very calm and peaceful, the people who work at Baan Pilaare lovey - very warm, helpful and friendly. The breakfasts are great- everything home- made, and there are lots of bicycles available for guests to use, and also a lovely pool in a beautiful garden. The room was big, very comfortable and with an additional sitting area where you can make tea and coffee . A real find!

    Leaving this wonderful place!

Stop searching! You have found your place to stay in Luang Prabang. Small, perfectly-formed accommodation with some of the very best customer service we experienced on our travels. Phout and the team went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, from serving the most delicious breakfasts, booking restaurants and transport for us, recommending places to visit, addressing any query immediately, to big smiles and warm chats every time we walked through reception. The location of Baan Pila was perfect for us. There are cafes, shops, a lovely spa and restaurants on the doorstep and a 5 minute walk will get you in to the heart of the town, and all it has to offer. We stayed in the Mulberry Room, which was huge, absolutely gorgeous, stunningly designed...and very quiet. The room has a beautiful terrace, where the team will gladly serve your breakfast (although the Breakfast Room downstairs is really lovely too.) You can tell the hotel has been created with so much thought, care and attention to every little detail. We would love to return to Laos and will definitely book Baan Pila again.

The only minor point would be more lamps in the rooms so you don't have to use the downlights. With such a beautiful decor, you kind of want ambience in the rooms! But.. absolutely minor. Aside from that, the pool is above ground. I'm sure they intend to put a bigger one in eventually and it does the job, but best to use some resort pool passes from the bigger resorts nearby if you want a pool day.

Absolutely loved Baan Pila. As a solo traveller, it felt so welcoming, warm and safe, and they were extremely accomodating. The style and design is really nice, with a heap of small touches that I loved (french press coffee in the rooms was great too). They are now serving breakfast as well which you pre-order the night before, which was really nice too.

    Nothing.

This cute boutique hotel is outside the old town but close enough to walk (or cycle if it's sweltering). It offers an AMAZING breakfast and truly spectacular customer service. The manager is one of the best I've encountered in my travels, but everyone who works there is top-tier. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. My only worry is that they'll become too popular and, with only a few rooms, be sold out! Oh, and they serve great coffee, too!

At least in our room the shower area was rather small and open so half the bathroom was wet. The car picking us up from the train station was a very small one even though I specifically explained beforehand we were 4 plus luggage. The bicycles could use some maintenance and have some sharp edges - not good for children. But they are for free and anyway most people rent scooters or use Loca to get around, so did we.

Beautiful place with friendly staff. Much care is given to every detail. Breakfast is a la carte and delicious. The pool is not big but good to cool down. Put and her staff did everything to make out stay comfortable. They were also very helpful with arranging the transportation from and to the train as well as a tour to the waterfalls.

The hotel is charming, in a wonderfully restored villa with quirky architectural details. The room was spacious, quiet and the bed very comfortable but the best thing was the staff who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and help with anything I needed, they were really amazing, particularly Phout who accompanied me to buy an extra suitcase. The breakfasts were varied and delicious with a great choice of local dishes. I wholeheartedly recommend this place if you are going to Luang Prabang.

Great place to stay in Luang Prabang! Beautifully decorated and spacious rooms (they have different sizes), super friendly and helpful staff who can assist with all travel and day trip advice and breakfast is excellent. Location is close enough to the night market and historical town for walking but the free bicycles are a really great way to move around a bit more. There is a small pool at the back with a small but nice lounge area. Highly recommended

Everything really. We came across it by chance when out walking and were delighted that we found it. Upon arrival we were upgraded. We were happy to chill for the day as we had a few busy days traveling so the pool area was ideal. Staff were so helpful also. Would highly recommend. Breakfast is also 10/10.

The toilet of the room we stayed in had a bit of smell – I believe it has something to do with the piping. Whilst it didn't mar our perception of the stay (we love Baan Pila so so much and have been raving about it to all our friends/family) I think that's the one aspect that can be improved on. Everything else was PRISTINE.

The breakfast was one of the best parts of Baan Pila. So many options to choose from, and everything was so delicious! We highly recommend the Khao Soi! Beyond that, Baan Pila was just a lovely place to come back to after a long day of exploring Luang Prabang. A lot of thought was put into every little detail of the property, from the rooms, to the check-in experience. They also have free bikes for you to use. The staff, Miss Phout and Mr Sack, were friendly, helpful and extremely welcoming. You rest easy knowing that you're in good hands.

Minor points such as soundproofing of the rooms could be better. Perhaps because it is already rather quiet, one can hear the conversations from other occupants. Also, one of the bikes have a tendency to have its chain loose, so more of to check the quality of the bikes before using them.

I thought that this was just another guesthouse but the design and the quality of the stay was excellent. Arrived earlier than expected and I already got the room ready for use. Room was spacious, clean and really aesthetically pleasing. The location was central and personally for me, quiet which was helpful for me to read and do my reflection. There was food around the area so you don’t have to fret. Breakfast was also provided and the team checks in with you every evening on what you like to have. Having transferred from another luxury hotel, the experience at Baan Pila is comparable and perhaps even more personalised. Free bike was super helpful for me to travel around (even cycling to the gym which was not too far away). I was amazed by the quality of the amenities (shampoo and handwash) that I bought the original brand when I returned to Vientiane. I would recommend anyone to consider staying with the team.

Lovely little hotel with 6 bedrooms. We were greeted by Phout who looked after us during the stay. She is very friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely and well equipped. We were given a larger room than we booked. Breakfast is excellent with a choice of western and local food. The wifi connection is super fast. You can walk into the main street in the downtown in about 10 minutes.

I absolutely loved our stay at Baan Pila. We only booked two nights but ended up staying three, and I wish we could have stayed longer! The rooms are huge, so thoughtfully designed and absolutely gorgeous. The breakfast was exceptionally delicious and our whole stay was effortless and comfortable. Loved cooling down in the pool after a long day of walking. The thing that made the stay truly special was the team - Ms Phout is a tour de force of hospitality and professionalism and was so kind, generous and helpful with everything. Mr Sak was equally kind and helpful and we love loved chatting with him about local tips for things to do. Will definitely come back!

nothing, it was a perfect stay!

This is a stunning and an absolute gem of a hotel located in a great location in Luang Prabang, with very friendly/helpful staff. The hotel and rooms are so well decorated, with great local artwork and has a very relaxing/peaceful vibe to it. There are only 6 rooms in this place, so it is never busy and also means you are very well taken care of by the staff. The rooms are very modern, clean and spacious, and the bathroom was also big and all the soap/shampoo etc was made by a local company and all natural which was great! Also, a nice touch to have fresh fruit in the rooms too. The hotel provides a great breakfast, which is all freshly made and has several options to choose from - includes local coffee, fresh orange juice and all fresh ingredients for the food. There is also free bike rental - and the bikes are of a high quality - Japanese street bikes. The best part of this hotel is the staff - they are incredibly friendly, genuine and very helpful - they can provide great recommendations for Luang Prabang (and wider Laos), and will go out of their way to help you as needed. They can also organise airport pick-up drop-off off and a tuk-tuk to take you to places like Kuang-Si waterfalls for very good prices. They also offer flexible check-in/check-out and this was very much appreciated! The hotel is also within 10 min walking distance to the centre (and also very close to cafes, shops etc), so it's very well located. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
