Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Netherlands-
We really felt in love with this place and Luang Prabang and kept on extending - we ended up staying for ten days. Vivanh and here family are wonderful hosts and their hospitality is next level. They have some unique recommendations, are really helpfull and make this place feel like home! The place is located in a green and authentic area on the other the side of the river and has something magical, with the both the view on Luang Prabang city centre and the green surroundings of the river. The room is spacious, authenic and has everything you need (like a small fridge). There are some nice restaurants on a walking distance and you can easily rent a scooter or take a free bike to reach the city centre in 5 minutes. Thank you again for this perfect stay in Luang Prabang!! We’ll definitely come back!

VietnamSince it was the rainy season, I had no choice but to take a boat or walk to the city center. Apparently you could cross the bridge during the dry season. The hotel staff sent me there on a motorbike. I think I could call a car, but it's a little scary to take a boat home at night.
The hotel staff is very kind. Location isn't bad either. It will be even better once the bridge is completed. it is not in the center of town, there is a private store within a 5-minute walk.

AustriaA construction at the river down there directly at the accommodation was loud most of the day. Sad but important to keep in mind when you go there. Everything else was perfect.
The owner vivan was really nice and helped in every situation and with a lot of lovely recommendations for the area. Also this side of luang prabang is more relaxed and less touristy, still not far away from the old town. You can use the bikes there for free, with them you can get a little bit around. The breakfast was also very good. The room was clean and comfortable. Lovely cats as well live there :)

ThailandUnfortunately, at the moment (December 2023) there's construction ongoing which obstructs the riverfront. It's a 10 minute walk to the ferry to take you to the old Town.
Quaint room with a super comfortable bed and rustic charm. Despite their limited English (fluent in French though) the owner and staff were touching, sweet, kind and helpful. The set, cooked for each individual, breakfast was stellar.

VietnamSome noise from from construction of the water stream nearby during the day, but it's just temporary and not terrible. I'm sure once that is finished, this place is gonna be a gem of the town.
The wonderful hospitality of Vivanh, the hostess, and everyone (and the cats) here made my stay so pleasant! A couple of very nice restaurants around. The place itself is charming: in colonial style and by the river, the room is cool, airy and have terrace looking over the backyard. the night is so quiet that you hear insects chirping. The location is a bit off from center, but it's an easy distance and very nice by bike/scooter or ferry.

This was my first time in Luang Prabang, and this place is a gem. From the property you can see the Mekong River below. There are fruit trees all around. Banana, coconut, mango... The rooms are spotless, and are a beautiful place to sleep, or relax. It's a short ride to the town, and there are a number of excellent restaurants around. It is very good value for the money, but is the people who work here that make it what it is. My deepest thanks to them. I'll be back in October.

I broke my right foot my first day, and the people here are some of the nicest people I've ever met. The worry, fear, and pain I experienced at first, gave way to the knowledge that I could not be in a better place to heal. The staff here are wonderful and kind people., The place is beautiful; to me, it's in the country, and yet a short ride to the centre. Everything I could want in a room is here, and easy to navigate. The room is beautiful, and I like the wood. The bed is as comfortable as I could hope for, and the room is spotlessly clean. I will be back again. From the balcony I have a good view of the Mekong River. I give this place an 11

BelgiumWe like everything
There's nothing not to like. Keo, her family and her staff are extremely friendly people, always there to help, recommend things to go and keeping the place very clean. There only a handful of rooms so the place never get crowded. We work online and wifi was great. The balcony is very pleasant in the morning and at night (or anytime of the day really). We also did our laundry, which was done the day itself (20k kip per kilo). I would highly recommend it for a quiet place (apart from the street dogs barking) and away from all the activities of the city center but still very near center (10-15min walk via bamboo bridge or boat)

United KingdomI suppose this is more down to our expectations, but after reading many comments about how quiet and peaceful the place is, we were a little surprised about the amount of noise coming into the room; mainly from motorbikes on the road behind the house, and also other guests chatting outside etc - this obviously isn’t the guesthouse’s fault. Nights were luckily pretty quiet with little traffic outside. A minor fix suggestion: the balcony door hinges need some oiling - they were very squeaky! :)
Beautiful, old and atmospheric house in calm surrounding on the other side of the river, accessible via fun bamboo bridge in dry season. Rooms were clean with good linen and mosquito nets. Fantastic hot shower. Cool shady balcony looking out to the yard and the river beyond. Friendly owners and staff, who also kindly dropped us to the airport early in the morning and saw us off. It felt very homely. Also cute cat lives here! Nice breakfast provided each morning, consisting of warm baguette, eggs and fruit. We were pleased with Ban Vivanh and would happily stay again. Thank you! :)

Excellent place to stay. Slightly outside of the main town but compensated by the fact the road are nice and quiet. They have bikes so you can ride round the area and one day we walked to town before getting a taxi to the waterfalls. It is also closer to the slow boat terminal than the centre of town. We booked for just one night but so liked the place we stayed for two.

SlovakiaNeed to fix the drain in a bathroom. You have to pay 10k kip to cross once the bamboo bridge everytime you need to go to to the town and back, the other way is longer and the bridge for pedestrian seems not so safe
