There are lots of mosquitoes and geckos but it’s an island, there everywhere so not really there fault.

It is a very well-located place. Don't expect luxury, and you will be satisfied. We had a room with a beautiful view over the Mekong. Just 2 minutes walk from the center. Great value for the money.

The bathroom was alright but the shower would leak so the floor was constantly wet and the dripping noise got a bit annoying. The tap didn’t work very well and at one point wasn’t letting water out. It then worked again but brown mold came out with the water. I understand that the water systems are difficult to maintain and I don’t blame the staff for this at all as the rest of the room was immaculate.

The location was perfect. Walkable from the harbor. Staff super friendly and helpful. Clean rooms and good AC

Everything was fine apart from (and this is common to most accommodation in Laos) basic maintenance. Bathroom fan didn't work, so room took a while to dry; some broken light bulbs needed replacing. But neither really impacted, and our stay was good.

A 'basic' but large, comfortable room (top floor) overlooking the river. Quiet location. Good air-con (used every night) and a good hot shower. Mama (and staff) all helpful with booking trips and onward travel.

Easy walk from the ferry port. Value for money. Good sized room and bathroom. Close to nice places to eat. Good water pressure.

We had a good stay at this guesthouse, felt a little basic but had good AC and that's hard to find on the island. Beds were comfy and felt pretty clean. Would recommend.

Laundry was done by hotel and was returned in a sorry state. Just screwed up in a bag without any care at all. Disappointed with this service

- It could have been cleaner & abit of TLC in the room - Some bedside tables would have been nice with some lamps instead of using the big light - Lots and lots of geckos - shower wasn’t hot

- Very good location, right next to a great little restaurant which we ate in almost every night - Next to bars where you can watch the sunset - A nice chilled place to stay where you can sit on the terrace and listen/watch the island go by - Laundry available & you can rent pedal bikes to cycle round the island - Rooms were super big and spacious

Most of the staff were very unfriendly, the power cuts (although not their fault) meant we didn’t have any water for 1/2 a day. But no communication with us about it.

Big comfortable bed, large room, good aircon and fan. They allowed me to use their kettle and fridge.

The window in our room was broken and it let in quite a few bugs. We had a hornet in our room one night which was not ideal.

The location was great. Easy to get to with lots of good restaurants around.

On the first night, lots of locals were doing karaoke at the front of the property which was a little loud. We were offered to join though! Our aircon began leaking water all over the bed one night but after I WhatsApped the hotel, they moved us right away.

The rooms with a view of the sunset were gorgeous (not all have this so do request / check booking)! The staff booked us our onward tickets and checked us in quickly and easily. The rooms were spacious and water was provided as well. You can also rent bicycles from there for cheap

There was a massive clump of hair on the bathroom wall when we first got in the room. I do not understand how the cleaner missed it when cleaning, it was literally just below eye height. Made me question how well it was cleaned, the rest of the room looked okay. It is difficult to communicate with the staff, they seem young.

Compared to everything else on the island I think we were really happy with our choice to stay at Mama Leurth. This is because there aren't that many budget options with AC and we were so happy to have the AC. The room was big, cool and comfortable. I was worried about mosquito's and ants because of other reviews I read but we didn't see any at all in our room in the two nights that we stayed. The location was great. We did laundry while we were there, and it came back nice and clean.

The room was a little bit rough around the edges and needs a little bit of maintenance.

I had room 9, which was on the 2nd floor all the way in the back the last one. This room was very quiet and far from the noise that others are referring to. The room was basic but very spacious and clean. Staff/family was friendly and helpful.

It’s okay for a day or two stay but definitely not for a longer. The AC didn’t cool well, my room was located near many Washing machines so you could hear them but you could hear more the staff watching videos without earphones. There is no view of the river and the front yard is full of bicycles they rent and hanging clothes they washed. The chairs outside are uncomfortable and there is no hammock to rest. There was also an awful smell from the drains in the bathroom and the pillows were very uncomfortable. The night we arrived and the morning after we could only “speak” to a teenager girl who didn’t understand any English and even though we used googled translator, she didn’t arrange what we asked for. Internet wasn’t great either.

Very central location but on a quieter road., good value for money, room was spacious and close to restaurants and shops.

AC was really bad. It was constantly warmer in the room than it was outside. Usually we deal with this but when paid a little extra for AC expected more comfort.

Great location, just a short walk away from the pier. The location itself was clean, comfortable and well located for different restaurants and cafes around us. Beautiful sunset views from bedroom. The staff were nice. Bikes available to rent on property.

Amazing rooms! Mama Leurth has a great location on Don Det. The rooms are spacious, AC works great, and really clean. WiFi good. Laundry service onsite, towels provided.

The ceiling could do with a brush/clean as there were quite a few spiders and cobwebs.

Spacious room, great air con (too cold if anything!), comfy bed and lovely staff. Location was perfect.
