Smart TV capabilities were not working

Luxurious, new hotel. Unbelievably comfortable bed. Affordable room service. Fantastic pool. Adequately sized fitness suite with new equipment. Massive television with HBO channel.

Hotel is location on a one way street, you have to circle around if you're coming the opposite direction.

This place is well-situated, close to street food in several directions, lots of restaurants and bakeries, plenty to see. Also close enough to the central bus station. The staff arranged a cab for me, helped out with some translation, made a copy of a document and generally were wonderful. The rooftop pool and gym are enormous and delightful.

The room was spacious and comfortable, good mattresses, nice bathroom, everything new. The rooftop pool is also very good. The hotel is very central, but in a rather quiet street. We didn’t have the breakfast included and found it rather expensive, but just opposite there is a french bakery with very good baguette and breakfast. Overall the value for money of this hotel was excellent, but maybe this was due to a period of special offer

Smoking area next to sun beds used constantly by staff. No drinking water in gym. Room only half cleaned. Bed half made and dirty cloths left in bathroom. Mediocre breakfast. Walls are thin so was a bit noisy

Small but clean and functional gym. Rooftop pool with comfortable seating although only 5 sun beds. Many good restaurants and bakeries very close by

Beautifully clean. Staff were amazing. Central location. Lovely breakfast. Couldn’t be better !

Sadly during our extended stay we had an accident and broke a coffee cup that was provided in the room. It was a simple white made in China type mug. At check out the Ops Manager spoke to us and stated we had to pay, we were sure he quoted 15,000Kip, which we fine with, even though at the time we thought it unusual as we’d never encountered paying for a simple breakage like this before. When we checked out it turned out to be US$15, which we thought was completely over and above any price we’d ever paid for a simple white coffee cup…practically a third of a nights stay! We fought against this and resulted in paying 65,000Kip, still under protest. It left a really bitter taste with us. We loved the Mintra and would highly recommend staying here, just don’t break anything.

We extended our first stay by an extra two nights because we loved everything about this place and wanted to soak up just a little more luxury…please read our previous review.

Not a thing…

We loved it so much we extended our stay…new hotel right in the heart of Vientiane…a little bit of spoiling for us leg weary travellers…couldn’t have asked for anything more…fabulous location, near all good restaurants and night markets at end of the street, great bed, great linens, soft fluffy towels, hot water, daily cleaning, quiet room, good breakfast on the inviting terrace, clean and cool rooftop pool…and the best, friendliest staff ever! Thank you team Mintra for a great stay…look forward to our extended stay. 🤗

Plenty of minor repairs still going on (the place just opened 2 months ago). And the room is showing signs of wear and tear (eg scratches on the floor, broken lampstand, etc).

Love how everything was new. Location is wonderful with our favourite food joints just down the road. Pool was excellent with a lovely sunset view.
