Excellent stay in Champasak. Staff was really nice and are the real jewels at Residence Bassac. Breakfast was top and the restaurant serves really nice food. The rooms where nice, clean and big.

Everything was perfect

Rooms were beautifully restored and really well appointed with tasteful fittings. Restaurant area was delightful and staff would also serve your food on the waterfront. Rooms were regularly cleaned to a high standard, including a turn down service and light clean in the evening. Breakfast was excellent with good choice. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly

Oddly out of all the places I’ve stayed this trip in SE Asia, this room had a slight mosquito problem. I used a plug in repellant I brought with. Tuktuk driver raised price from hotel quote and then tried to charge even more by not giving back change. Motorbike helmets too small if you have a large mellow like mine. Reverse mirrors unusable on one. Give them a good look over before heading out for issues.

Wow! What a perfect stay. I loved it at Residence Bassac. Recently refurbed the place glows with care and is spotless. I couldn’t decide at first on a double with river view or the two story with balcony and was very happy with the later. Super spacious with a great layout and furnishings. AC is strong and lots of great little touches including turn down service. The staff were very helpful and friendly, arranging a scooter, tuktuks and airport taxis. The restaurant has a beautiful open setting to the street and river. And best of all Vat Phou is about 20mins away. I’d gladly stay again, sad to go!

The property is excellent. It’s a very friendly place, and all team members are in the Residence to assist you if needed. They try to do their best always. The kindness of local people and the foreign Chef is highly appreciated. Bedrooms are comfortable, extremely clean and well-maintained; restaurant and rooms are decorated in nice way. The sala along the Mekong offers you the opportunity to enjoy the calm of the area and the relaxing view of the scenery. The food is very good also and gives you a taste of happiness. Well done!

The staff was extremely friendly but barely spoke any English. So communication was often difficult. For booking a scooter or our connection to Pakse we were asked to go to an accommodation in the same village to to the booking. Food in the hotel was quite expensive

--The garden could have been so much more idyllic (Champasak is, after all, essentially a village), but there is a surprisingly busy road close behind the property, meaning that there is a fair bit of traffic noise in the garden. --The hotel advertises all sorts of interesting tours and experiences on its website, but the staff there doesn't really know anything about them (and there's no promotional material in reception). When I showed staff the website, I was then quoted an exorbitant price. This kind of soured my experience. --I think the glory days of the restaurant are in the past. They can do some dishes well, but there are much better (especially if you want Lao food) and much cheaper options available elsewhere.

Really comfortable place, most comfortable place I stayed at during 3 weeks in Laos, and it has a lot of charm.
