How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Staff were friendly but only speak basic English so more complex conversations can be difficult.
Stayed for 1 night initially - simple rooms, close to town, friendly staff. They were kind enough to allow us to store a bag there whilst we visited Vang Vieng (as they don’t allow certain items). We came back to stay a further 2 nights. They organised the slow boat to Huay Xia for us.

Our room which was the furthest away, had intermittent wifi.
Great place to stay. Breakfast was good, staff were helpful.

No toilet rag.
The location is great!! Near atsalin restaurant that has great and affordable food. The staff is helpful and speaks good English. I didn't know they clean and change sheets in the room daily so that was unexpected lol

Some of their services are overcharged e.g. trains. Better to book direct. A mosquito net would be nice.
Good fan in room. Location was good, nice cheap restaurant very close. Staff are friendly if a little confused sometimes, but they fixed everything we raised quickly. Breakfast was good though a bit small.

Almost perfect! Probably just a suggestion of a chair inside the room to use. I wanted to use the table but there is no chair to sit down to.
Very kind, accommodating, english speaking staff. In my case, there was this Korean guy, who I just tried to help, but suddenly followed me all the way to where I my accommodation which I was very scared. He even insisted on staying at the same accommodatio . The moment I arrived I told the receptionist right away what was happening and pleaded to make sure his room was far from mine, and they made sure it was done. They made sure we don't cross each other's path. The next day the Korean guy was throwing a fist at the receptionist about it. I was so moved that the staff protected me, which made the guy eventually check out and leave. I was almost crying in relief. I'm a female solo traveller and my security mattered so much to me, Villa Thavisouk made sure I was safe and okay. I will definitely stay with them again when I go back.

They helped us book transport to our next location. We were to leave at 8 am, but they woke us an hour earlier because they said we have to leave earlier due to rain. Was fine with that, a bit unfortunate to miss breakfast. Then we ended up driving half an hour to fill petrol and change van. Then we waited at the bus station for 1.5 hour for others to come? Didn’t get why we had to rush out, just to wait over 2hours before we actually departed. This could have been arranged better
Good location close to night market. Decent breakfast, nice staff

It’s in a good location and value for your money, clean rooms with good A/C and fresh towels everyday. Staff are nice and they sell a lot of tours/bus & slow boat tickets. Nice breakfast included in the price too.

Breakfast could be a bit later as it runs from 7:30-9:30
Great location, staff are lovely and organised loads of trips and transfers for us, air con and fan in the room was great.

The staff were the best part of the stay extremely helpful at all hours. Even after we checked out we got a message asking if our train ride went well. They really go the extra mile. Also, location is about 12 min walk from local night market

There was no fridge in the room which is more than necessary.
staff are great, very friendly and helpful. Location, 2 block to the night market and mount Phousi. They have motorbike to rent and sell tours and bus/train ticket if you need.

The staff was super friendly and responsive. The location is great and easy to walk to the center of town, and Old Town. The room was simple and had everything I needed. It is quiet at night and easy to sleep.

Staff here are great and very attentive. At one point the control for the air con wasn't working and they made sure to get it sorted within 5 mins. Good value for money in Luang Prabang as all the other hotels are crazy expensive? Everything you need really!

Do mind if the bedroom includes AC when you book: I didn’t and had to ad 3$ extra for an upgrade.
I spent only one night and I found all what I needed: comfortable bed, clean bathroom and good location really close to the night market. The staff was very helpful with organising the day and the connection to Ninh Khiaw and Muang Ngoy. You also have fresh breakfast included. Recommended!

Kim was super friendly and helpful arranging scooter rental for same price as in town. Also good recommendations for local restaurants etc. Room VERY basic, but considering the price, better than expected. Location excellent. But dont say yes to airport pickup for 10 USD. You can get much cheaper in the airport and superfast.

Great stay in a very homely place. Staff: Extremely helpful, assisted with organising trip to Kuang Si, airport and general advice. Location: Great, if you're looking for something just outside of town (10-15mins walk). - Near lots of restaurants, cafes, convenient stores

Lovely little place. Great location. Best part was Kim the host (manager). She was friendly, great communicator and a wealth of knowledge. Kim helped us with tuk tuks to immigration, sight seeing and also arranged our train down south. Our room was light filled and very clean. Breakfast was daily fresh juice, coffee/ tea and a choice of several items. French toast was my favourite! Ended up staying a couple days longer.

Everything was amazing
This guesthouse was one of the best I stayed at on my travels so far. The breakfast was readily good and Kim is absolutely amazing and helped me book any excursions and my onward transport to vang vieng.
