Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaLovely hotel in one of the most beautiful parts of Lebanon. Nice distance between Bcharre, the Cedars, and Qadisha Valley. Room was clean - and I've never seen a satellite package on the TV with so many channels (after a nice dinner, spent part of the evening switching between Iraq Idol and a chatshow from Cote d'Ivoire...). Staff were very friendly.

QatarNothing, I loved everything!
From the minute I walked into the hotel I felt like I came home. I was greeted like a family member and it was amazing from the start to the end of my stay. I also got freshly picked cherries as a wonderful snack, so yummy! The lovely team of the hotel (read my new family) took me to the viewing point for the sunset. It was one of the most spectacular things I ever experienced, BEAUTIFUL sunset 2.000 meter up in the gorgeous mountains. It felt like being in heaven! LOVED IT! My dinner at the hotel was epic, so good Lebanese food. I slept in my bed a very good sleep, and before I went to bed I had the amazing full moon as my company, shining beautiful over the mountains. It was like being in a film. In the morning I went for a peaceful walk and saw the sun coming up over the mountains. The breakfast was soo good, loved it! I also bought the book written by the owner of the hotel, Madame Desiree Sadek, with beautiful pictures of the Cedars Of God Bsharri, the money goes to the forest to plant more trees, so happy! I will come back for sure to see my new family and enjoy this fantastic hotel ad nature. Thank you!!

United Arab EmiratesThe rooms were below expectations. It’s not value for money you pay. No coffee, tea, even no bottle of water. For such price it should be a standard.
The location is great, the common areas look amazing, well designed, great attention to details. Lots of space to spend time with your family, friends, loved ones. The staff is very attentive and top class

United Arab EmiratesIt was perfect - we cannot think of anything to improve!
La Maison Des Cedres is something special. It has been built as a labour of love and is beautifully designed. From the moment you arrive - you feel like you're in a special place. The location is nothing short of spectacular and the surrounding scenery is simply amazing. The rooms and entire hotel is designed and furnished exquisitely and we had a wonderful stay. Although it was cold outside - our rooms were cosy and warm. The bar and restaurant area is warm and classy with a beautiful fireplace and view across the nearby mountains. Petro the manager is one of the most friendly people and looked after us with great care. He went out of his way to ensure we had a wonderful stay and even went in his car to pick up some food from a nearby restaurant for us. We loved every minute of the stay and posted loads of pictures on Instagram and facebook! A memorable experience that we will not forget!

United StatesThe window in the bathroom needs a curtain, and one or two little bugs got in, but nothing major and it had no impact on the quality of our stay.
Very cute and cozy Inn, with the ground floor full of comfy spots by fireplaces, tables for food, and a well-stocked bar. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable, but the real star of this hotel is the shared living space. We enjoyed having a drink there in the evening. We visited during the summer, so I can only imagine how nice it is to visit when it's snowy and the fireplace is lit. The staff are super friendly and accommodating.

LebanonFirstly, the photos used to advertise the rooms are not accurate. The picture of the family suite is used for the standard room which is very misleading. Secondly, we found two bugs in the room which we killed. And one big bug that was dead for quite some time next to bed on the floor. When we called the front desk to inform them, they just sent two staff members to offer to remove the bugs and spray some kind of repellent on the edges of the balcony door. The room was obviously not properly cleaned before our arrival. We then called to speak to the staff member who was at the front desk at our arrival and checked us in, but were given his wife (who’s also a staff member). I tried to complain about how poorly the situation was handled and her first and only solution was basically “if you’re not happy you can leave” then said she would give us our money back (minus deposit). The staff member then continued to make light of our frustration and was very rude over the phone. Thirdly, the kitchen closes at around 8:30 and we were not informed beforehand. Also, they only had three things available from the entire menu which was very disappointing. And finally, this property advertises breakfast buffet but instead we were given some cheese and and jam and bread. Extremely disappointing.
The location was the best thing about this hotel.

United KingdomThe breakfast was rather poor - very basic. For me this makes it very poor value for money. The other negatives I could get over. The parking lot was icy, they had plenty of time to put some salt or travel to avoid their guests slipping. The room (101) wasn't very sound proof, you could hear everyone going up and down the stairs and floors above. Shower didn't have much water pressure.
Lovely atmosphere inside, lovely fireplace in the restaurant area and great staff. The room is nicely designed, great size, good accessories. WiFi was good.

Netherlands- front desk - attitude of a front desk staff was was deeply disappointing ( dressed in flip flops, hoody, baseball cap, not welcoming, not helping with getting the best from our stay). At the checkout, we were told that the hotel was actually closed so we should have not been really disappointed with the service. - waiting time for a breakfast was pretty long (min 30 min). if we did not ask for something to drink, we did not get anything - pretty far from any restaurants if you do not visit in a high season - no room cleaning during our 2 nights stay - it was disappointing to see a really nicely designed/decorated hotel that is not really well maintained
- nice and a comfortable room - WiFi was good - hot water in a tap - nice view
