Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TurkeyWifi was terrible in the rooms. Even terrible remains good compared to this. There was no connection in the rooms. It can be fixed easily I guess.
Breakfast was amazing. It was quite filling and delicious. Rooms and baths were okay too. If you want to use bar, it is ready at all time. And of course location was amazing. It is located in a good part of Beirut and everywhere is within 20-30 minutes walking distance.

United StatesThe bathroom segregation - there isn't enough sound proofing to sleep through the noise of a shared bathroom usage in one of the women's dorms. Without AC it can be quite hot - which is can't help with the intermittent power supply. When I checked in some one came in to put on bug spray but didn't actually ask me to leave the room or cover my luggage- was just a bit odd.
The breakfast is exceptional - like truly one of the best, especially for a hostel. Staff were very polite and helpful. Location was great.

United KingdomThere is nothing negative to say about this combined Hostel/Hotel. It offers a totally unique and very comfortable stay
The area the hotel is in is extremely good - it’s in the art district. The hotel room I had - the Penthouse on the top floor was great, the mattress was firm, the area was quiet and I had a good nights sleep. Food & drinks served in the ground floor restaurant/on the terrace was of a high standard & the hotel staff were amazing - nothing is too much trouble for them

TunisiaThe absence of an elevator, which could be a challenge if your room is located above the first floor. However, this is somewhat understandable considering the hotel's size and location. Also, for future guests booking dorm beds, I'd recommend requesting lower bunks in your booking, as the upper bunks can be quite high and somewhat difficult to access.
During my stay at The Grand Meshmosh Hotel, several aspects stood out. The reception staff's willingness to resolve a booking issue with a discounted room upgrade was a customer-focused highlight. The hotel's central location near downtown Beirut and Mar Mikhael is a significant advantage for exploring the city. The hotel's bohemian ambience added to the overall experience provided excellent value for the price.

QatarShared bathroom/toilets could be cleaner, but perhaps i visited at the wrong time
I literally only stayed in this hostel for a few hours transiting through Beirut for a few hours late at night. As dorm rooms go they were perfectly clear, electrical output sockets at each bed space and towel provided on check-in. The hostel include breakfast and it was the best hostel breakfast i have encountered in over 20 years of travelling. Staff are super friendly and helpful.

PortugalNot a lot of privacy in the bathroom as the glass in the shower is not entirely see through but, you can still see the silhouete of the person. I reckon an actual door with a lock would offer more privacy.
Second time I stayed here and it was just as good. Breakfast is varied and tasty. Staff is friendly. Location is quite central.

PortugalWifi was a bit choppy at times. Also, if you have heavy luggage, be aware that you'll have to carry it upstairs as there is no lift.
I enjoyed everything. Check in was easy and simple. Breakfast was good and diverse. Room and bathroom were both clean. It wasn't noisy in the evening. Staff was very friendly and helped me out when I had to deal with someone trying to hack into my phone. Good location with plenty of bars and restaurants in the area.

BelgiumThe door at the entrance is completely locked if the power goes out, which can happen quite regularly in Beirut these days. But it was not a big issue as I put an overall 7/10 which means it was good stay. I would recommend it !
Great food. Smiley and open staff, always ready to help and accomdate our needs. I could strike great conversations with them. Also there were enough soap of good quality.

The staff is nice and helpful. They arranged for us to check-in in the middle of the night. The location is ideal, in a safe and trendy area. The breakfast is really good and served in a great area where you can chill with a nice drink in the evening too. You can meet a lot of very interesting backpackers from all around the world.
