We had originally booked the cottage but when we arrived we realized the cottage set up was not going to work for us because there were just too many levels and steps that we could not manage. The cottage was not quite as accurate as the photos shown online. To their credit, they did give us a room near the office and restaurant and we did receive a little reduction in price. But not much.

The location with the view of the Pitons was incredible! The people were very nice and friendly. The pools were beautiful and very well kept. We enjoyed our stay and will always have fond memories of our time spent there. I would advise to get a room near the entrance because the other rooms were down a gravel road and quite a walk to. Our sons stayed in the cashew section of the property which was nice for them but the walk back and forth was very tough especially in the heat of the day and it is very hot this time of year. We had to change from the cottage to a regular room and they were eventually accommodating. After that our stay there was very pleasant. I would stay at this location again.

The property needs doing up. Maintenance wise needs some effort. Pool water not clear, the photos must have been taken long time ago. Room colours really outdated. Needs modernising and the owner to love it. It's an amazing property and location, just needs a bit of love. We loved our stay anyway.

Absolutely loved the location, beautiful view and the view from the infinity pool were the best. Sunsets and sunrises were spectacular. Breakfast in the breathing location just lovely. Need a car to venture out as too hot to walk up to the Beacon restaurant or down to the town. It is walkable but maybe late afternoon or early morning. Daily clean of the rooms and dinner available in the properry were the bonus.Staff very helpful and kind.

Instalations are too old and need refurbish. The pool lacks maintenance (it always seems dirty). I had to pay almost half of the daily price to stay after check out (as I had a late flight)… no other suitable solutions were offered.

Room was big, view to the Pitons was breathtaking. There is a restaurant right next to the hotel, the food was nice although the restaurant is understaffed.

Disappointing set breakfast. No sun umbrellas and little shade by either pool. Dogs barking & guinea fowl calling on some nights. But the views made the stay worthwhile.

Stunning views. Very peaceful during the day. Convenient for visiting the stunning Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens, Sulphur Springs, Tet Paul trail, Sugar & Anse Mamin beaches. We preferred this quieter southern part of the island to the north.

The infrastructure leaves a lot to be desired. The door to our room had cracks in it. Anyone could look in through the thin openings. The shower temperature never reached higher than warm. While we had one of the best rooms, it was a 1/5 mile hike uphill to reach the restaurant. The hotel is about 2 miles outside of the city and required taking a taxi to go to various sites and dinners at a cost of $40-$50 USD per trip as we had not rented a car.

The room was large and had wonderful view of the Pitons. The room had a full kitchen including refrigerator and microwave. The housecleaning was thoroughly done. The pools were clean and convenient. The breakfast was a good size with plenty of options. You can drink the water.

The on-site restaurant was amazing but your have to very direct on what you want when ordering. For example: we asked for "eggs scrambled with cheese" but the waiter returned with eggs with cheese on the side (cold). We had to literally tell them to cook the eggs WITH the cheese in it (its minor but something to know). Additionally, it's not very clear what the breakfast options are upfront. It took us overhearing another guest breakfast request to realize that a meat (bacon, sausage, or ham) was also included in the complimentary breakfast. Outside of that: Everything was good.

Beautiful view and location, good customer service but property is a little dated (but that does not take away from it being a beautiful property). It's like the affordable boogie resort amongst the overpriced boogie resorts. It's located in Soufriere, St Lucia - where the most expensive resorts on the island are located. The location is where tourist from allover the island end up at on the most popular excursions and top star restaurants.

We arrived by taxi and our room was at the bottom of the hill, so there was no way for us to get to our room with our luggage. The staff had to find transportation for us to get our luggage down the road. This was a little unconventional. However, the walk without luggage is manageable and pretty.

The room had a beautiful view of the pitons. The room was clean and spacious. The restaurant was under-staffed, but delicious and had a gorgeous veranda/deck overlooking the Pitons. The pool was clean and refreshing.

The first day was a nightmare. Breakfast was a tiny plate with almost no food. Sunloungers were cheap and uncomfortable and the receptionist tried to overcharge us for a 5 minute taxi ride. Thankfully, Glender the manager sorted out all of our complaints and saved the stay. The whole resort needs maintenance.

The infinity pool with breathtaking view to the Pitons. The rooms are spacious. The restaurant is good (but it’s managed by other people). Location. Lose to all activities of interest.

windows were either painted shut or stuck. some of the window screens were torn or missing. the resort could use maintenance to clean up the facilities.

The view from La Haut is beautiful. the resort is a "rustic" resort with older rooms and restaurant. the 2 pools were well maintained and the infinity pool had a wonderful view of Soufriere, the Pitons, and the ocean. Housekeeping staff was very nice and were very good at keeping our room clean.

It seemed to lack upkeep. It was also unclear if it’s a farm too since there were a lot of animals. The whole property could be stunning if they made some upgrades or upkeep.

Everything was great. The staff and the way they go out of their way to help is most mention-worthy. The views are definitely the selling point of this property. Just stunning. This property is best for activities in the south, or even better, just to get some good R&R!

Incredible views of the Pitons in a beautiful plantation
    • Leisure trip

Breathtaking views over the Pitons from the infinity pool that belongs to the owner of the place, who was extremely welcoming in letting us use the infinity pool as the main pool for the residents were in maintenance and thus could not be used during our recent stay. The plantation itself is tranquil and well maintained! The pictures really cannot justify just how beautiful this plantation is, and at many occasions the views of the pitons took my breath away. However, if you are looking for a luxury/all inclusive type of resort vibe, I would not recommend this place, because this is an eco-friendly, humble, easy going plantation with just one simple restaurant on site. If you are looking to merely enjoy the lush nature, Piton views, calmness, an extremely comfy bed and the sound of nature - then this is the place for you! The people who own it and work there are all extremely kind, helpful and respectful. Please also bare in mind as this place is a bit out of the way, you would need a taxi (easily organised with the reception people), or have a hired car available. It is not a place you can walk to the local town or nearby places to and from as it is on a very steep hill. Sugar beach, the sulphur mud baths, Toraille waterfall and the botanical gardens are all around 15-20 mins drive, and we organised with a taxi to take us to all these places for a day trip and it worked out very well from the plantation. The local town is a 5-10 mins drive down, and airport is 45-50 mins car ride away. The restaurant at the plantation was simple, but lovely with great staff where we got to enjoy more local inspired dishes, as well as international ones, serving sandwiches, creol curry and burgers. The breakfast was also great served in a continental style with amazing fresh eggs and a nice coffee. We were surprised of how delicious it was, our creds to the chef! Its a must experience plantation for a short stay while stopping at St. Lucia / Soufriere area!

We requested two beds, of which one was a sofa bed which was uncomfortable to sleep in. There are bathroom amenities but I would recommend you bring your own shampoo, soap and conditioner as the ones they offered were quite scented.

The infinity pool was amazing and the room itself was spacious and well maintained. We had a hammock on our balcony that faced out to the Pitons, offering a stunning view every day. The bed was comfy, clean, and had a bug net over it so it was comfortable to sleep in without the threat of being bitten by bugs. There were less bugs than expected so I think the hotel did a good job with bug deterrent. Breakfast was complimentary (fruit, toast, yogurt, eggs, sausages) and was filling. There was also a kitchenette in the room with microwave, fridge and kettle.

The wifi wouldn't work in the plantation rooms. Also no TV, but this is okay. The property is beautifully kept, but unfortunately just up the road, just above the property, there's a massive pile of garbage in a nook on the main road. This is so disheartening. You would never know it being on the property itself, and yet once you jump in the car and drive a few meters up the hill - there it is. This is a problem with the island overall and not something La Haut is guilty of, but it detracts from the general impression in any case. The grounds of the resort itself though were more pristine than other places.

So spectacular. The views are incredible. Two pools - the one belonging to the owner is mindblowing. The views are so stunning. It's like being paralyzed and not physically being able to move from that spot ever. My husband had to drag me away, and I was sad to go! The restaurant on site is a lifesaver. Owner accomodated us late one evening when literally everything else was shut down, and we had run out of our own groceries and didn't make it to the store in time. The breakfast in the morning was excellent as well and very filling. The grounds are very romantic for walks and exploring, and we actually didn't even get to do this properly. The room we had was large with amazing tall ceilings, and the balcony was huge too. I will come back for a significantly longer stay.
