Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesI’d say the only issue was the unpaved road, as highlighted by other visitors so I’d recommend a 4x4 or a SUV.
The views were spectacular and the room we had was very nice.

United KingdomThe host Whitney was very helpful from before arrival throughout our stay, he saved the day and went above and beyond to help us with a problem we had with our car. Safe place to be, large comfortable accommodation. Very little but cozy swimming pool. Very close to soufriere town and attractions. A 4x4 car is suggested. There is a lovely cat there, white and ginger if you love animals take care of him while there, he is a super cutie.

MaltaI am not sure how linen changing worked, but when I asked Whitney our host, he sent a cleaner and gave us fresh linen. It was enough for us since we spent most of our time out.
It was a spacious apartment with everything that you would need. Although simple, it was perfect for our stay. The balcony was awesome with the views and fresh air

United KingdomThe only negative was the off road to the property which was bumpy and not suitable for cars. We hired a 4x4 Jeep which is needed to combat the roads after reading comments from previous holidaymakers. My girlfriend is also a light sleeper so early mornings the cockerels crowing often kept her awake, otherwise nothing negative to report.
Absolutely everything! The property was situated on a hill overlooking the pleasant town of Soufriere and the gorgeous views of the Pitons. Inside the villa contained a functional kitchen, a large bathroom and a comfortable bed. Also enough cupboard space, a safe and the air conditioning which was a necessity. We loved this place as it felt like our own private retreat but without the feeling of being isolated. Whitney the concierge / host of the premises was always available and so helpful with advice etc, booking taxis and other requirements. He even granted us an extra late checkout due to our late flight departure. Thanks Whitney you were a complete gentleman. 👍

United StatesTo afford a hilltop view of the town you have to be at the top of a hill. During our week-long stay we walked up and down from the property 3 or 4 times (all in daylight), and with about a 15 minute walk to the beach, we were happy with the location. That being said, the road is steep and a bit rocky, and you’ll want to be mindful of cars, as the shoulder is pretty narrow. We’re somewhat used to walking and didn’t feel comfortable driving the windy Saint Lucia roads, so it wasn’t too much of a burden, but it is something to be aware of. If you’re going to rent a car, an SUV would probably be best in order to avoid bottoming out. Taxis are an alternative, but pricier than expected, particularly for shorter distances.
Our deluxe suite was furnished and well-equipped with an oven, full-sized refrigerator, full-length mirror, ceiling and standing fans, smart tv, desk, armoire and dresser, sectional couch and dining table with chairs, and air conditioner within a spacious living room and bedroom. A major highlight was that each of the units at Sugarmon has a furnished balcony with an incredible view overlooking the town. We ate many of our home cooked meals here. The unit was clean and stocked with enough flatware and pans- and the grocery store was available down the hill (~15 minutes)for any other needs. Outside, the shared pool and pool deck is not vast but is plenty of space for the size of the property. On-site washer and dryer access was helpful, especially since it was included with our 1-week stay. Whitney, the property manager, was friendly, attentive, and responsive, arranging for our airport transfers and even agreeing to allow us a later checkout on our final day. We were also happy with the hilltop view and relatively short distance to the supermarket, beach, and town below.

United StatesThe road up isn't the best so just be prepared! We also didn't have a view of the piton- a tree was blocking it from our balcony and the pool area (if you're on the upper floor maybe you are above the tree not sure).
Really pretty view. Room was a good size with basically everything you need. Pool was nice to have! Asked to check out an hour late and it was no problem - very accommodating in general!

United KingdomThe walk up to the villa was steep and hot! No pavements anywhere but possible to walk on the side of the roads. (Take a torch for evenings-the sun sets early). The main road is fairly well paved but the back roads and the short section to the villa/supermarket are in very bad condition - you will need sensible shoes everywhere! You will definitely need a decent car or lots of expensive taxis (always negotiate!) to get to most activities. The roads are windy and very steep generally. As for the actual villa we stayed in, the kitchen facilities were a bit limited (eg could have done with more plates etc) but enough there to cook at home if need be (and if prepared to get hot doing it!) The WiFi was a bit patchy at times but we were glad to have it!
The views from the balconies are incredible-you are right above the town, can see everything, and surrounded by green hills and sea views. Whitney the concierge/building manager was very often on site to help with questions and taxi bookings, and was really helpful. The plunge pool was so appreciated by us as a family-after walking up the hill or spending the day doing activities it was just perfect. There was also a tree full of hummingbirds right opposite! The bedrooms are spacious with very comfy big beds, large sofa bed(s) and great air conditioning. We fit two adults and two kids easily. Nice big walk in shower too. There was access to Netflix as well as a Bose speaker. The location is great, a short walk (1km) to the hummingbird beach (very nice, and good snorkelling), the town centre, the big supermarket and even the diamond gardens. Soufrière itself is a great place to stay, so many things to do!

FranceI wish more eateries were adjacent to property, but the CardaTreats menu in the room did delivery - yum!! I had shrimp tacos that were so flavorful and a beef burrito that was filled with fresh ingredients and veggies. It was an unexpected treat.
The location had a beautiful view and quiet room next to entrance, very easily accessible. However the road to arrive to property is steep. Surely you need to be in for s literal hike if on foot to access the area where property is located. However residents said the street tucked away is safe. On late night walks, bring a flashlight.

United KingdomThe accommodation was as advertised. It was clean and had everything that you would want to stay. We were there for 2 weeks and had meals in the apartment so cooking was not an issue. Another benefit to the accommodation was that a washing machine was available, very helpful for an extended stay. Whitney was available at the accommodation for most of the time and was most helpful during our stay.

United KingdomIt's a good 15 minute walk up the steep hill from the centre of Soufriere. Minibuses go up the highway to Castries but it seems a bit lame getting off after a few minutes.
Lovely views perched up on the hillside. Quiet location. Apartment had a good aircon and fan. Bedding was changed midweek. Witney, our on-site host, was very helpful and arranged a Sugarmon taxi to the airport.

United StatesWe loved everything about this place
We absolutely loved the villa! It actually looks much better than the pics. This place is located in a beautiful location. The view from the balcony was mind blowing. We stayed here for 4 nights as a family along with my 9 yr old. We had a blast! Whitney and Louise were amazing. Whitney provided great information about the location and recommended some nice restaurants. He was readily available for anything we needed. The villas was very spacious and we even cooked a couple of times. Everything is available within the unit. We're going to miss this place. Thank you Whitney and Louise!

United StatesGreat location, very close to all main attractions, close to beaches, grocery stores, pharmacy, etc.. Place was clean, kitchen was well equipped. Whitney is a genuinely very kind and nice person, he was checking on us every day, gave us beach towels and chairs, answered all the questions we had. Highly recommend. Also, place has an AC which is a necessity on the island, but not all the properties have it.

CanadaThe access road is uh... more like a dirt track. Arriving from the town's new development neighborhood from the east is quite the adventure. Arriving from the main road is less scary, but still quite an adventure without a 4x4 or high clearance vehicle. Other than that, the pool area could use some love, and it's not very private considering the downstairs unit's windows are right on it.
It's honestly a great place, maybe the best place we stayed at on the island. It's well equipped, quite privacy-oriented, with views to die for (at least from the top floor). AC is super efficient at cooling it down, kitchen had everything we needed, and again... that view. The town of Soufrière is right there. You could walk down, but we found the roads a bit dangerous for pedestrians and opted for driving most of the time. We saw one of the guys in charge of the place a few times, stand-up guy super friendly and laid back, gave us some advice on where to eat local. Overall a great acommodation that's never more than a 30 min drive away from major attractions around Soufrière.

United KingdomThe apartments are well set up but a little tired and could do with some upgrades such as the kitchen. We had a couple of issues but found Whitney to be very responsive and sorted them for us promptly. The WiFi was slow and the apartments are up a steep hill so a bit of a pain if only walking!
Whitney was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The view would be excellent but it is starting to be obscured by a tree in our particular apartment. It was a nice and quiet location with plenty of space. The villa is decorated with lots of beautiful hand painted murals.

United StatesThe road leading up to the villa is pretty rocky and steep, definitely something that needed to get used to and you'll be fine as long as you drive slowly. There was also a certain smell in the kitchen, probably due to previous guests who cooked before.

United KingdomThe apartment needs a few more utensils for preparing your own meals. Also, the road down to the apartment is pretty bad. It's only about 200 metres, but you do need to drive slow and careful. That said, we managed in a small car!
The apartment was spacious and clean. Large bathroom and a large comfortable bed. The main attraction, though, is the balcony & the view over Soufriere.
