Can’t switch temperature on the AC

It is the sweetest man owning the place. He helped us multiple times to get to the train and bus station, helped us buy train tickets, showed us how to get to and from the sigiriya lion rock, made a good big breakfast and washed our clothes. Only have good things to say about the owner.

Well, its an old building ...the walls in the room could do with a new paint coat.

A convenient location , and you do not get the roadnoise in the back rooms. Room was large and had all the trimmings..AC ,Fan , Hot water, no mosquitos, WiFi, clean bedsheets. Very helpful manager, Came with me to the Busstation to get me on the right bus to my next destination

The property itself was a bit run down and the facilities weren’t great.

The owner of the property was amazing! Really friendly and accommodating, he even walked me to the station in the morning and also offered me a free breakfast, lovely guy.

Good location, close to all the necessities. The room itself was big and the facilities were fine. What made the stay so pleasant was especially the kind owner who helps you with everything. He helped me to get on the train at 3am (again I’m so sorry and thanks!!) and even went on the train with me to check for a good spot. I am forever grateful!

Simple accommodation in a good location in Kandy. Good value and absolutely ample if you just want a comfy bed to stay in. Staff were very friendly and helpful and even helped us get on the bus to our next destination. Recommend

The location was great. 10 minute walk down the road and you are at the lake and temple of the Holy tooth, Buddha museum etc. 5 minutes walk around the lake and you are at the dance theatre. 10 minutes walk, the central market and bus stops. Townhouse rest is loving cared for by the most helpful, gentlest of men. Such a delight. He took me to the bus station, sat me on the bus and made sure the driver and conductor knew where to drop me off as it wasn't a straight forward journey. The breakfast are enormous. Beds, comfy. Shower hot. I would definitely use this place again.

Very old design/furniture which looks like a dirty place. Hard to find. Very cheap so expect what was paid for.

Basic room, but has everything you need. Ideal for 1 night for the price.

The host. One of the nicest Sri Lankan people you will meet. Let us keep our bags in the room as we were very early. Breakfast was excellent and delivered to the room. The host arranged a tuk tuk and came with us to the station to ensure we didn't get scammed. Shower had hot water. Room was very spacious. Nice bakery underneath.

Clean, comfortable, hot shower and very quiet despite being in the center of the city. Location was fantastic, close to everything and beautiful restaurant across the road (Desi Dera & Biyrani). Owner was very kind and offered to post me something I had forgotten. Exceptional value for money.

The AC unit looks like it really needs to be cleaned. The rooms need some basic renovation to look more cozy.

The place is a bit shabby, but if you're looking for a short budget stay, it has everything you need: big bed, clean sheets, hot water. AC was also there, but we didn't use it, as the fan was enough for us. The owner is super helpful, he took us all the way to the railway station in the morning, to ensure we catch our train.

BUT: It is how the previous reviews have prepared me. The building was probably stately decades ago, but has lost its luster... It needs urgent refurbishment and I'm not talking about a little repainting: there are water stains everywhere on the ceiling and walls, mold in the bathroom, windows are reinforced with tape, the strip floor gets wet when the toilet is flushed, all the hangers and hooks for towels have been removed, ants in piles everywhere, in the hallway it dripped through the ceiling in various places during the rainy season. You can easily stay here for 3 nights for the price, but you should be prepared for what you encounter.

The owner is very nice and always tries to fulfill all wishes. I had breakfast brought to my room every day, my laundry was washed for free, he booked my train ticket with me and took me directly to the station at the end with a detailed written explanation. The location is great, the lake, tooth temple, markets etc are all within walking distance. I would say for the price you can't complain!

The host was wonderful. So kind and helpful. Walked us to our bus and made sure we got a good deal on the tickets. Couldn’t thank him enough. The room is in need of a paint job and a refurb but it really is great value for money. Good central location. Good air conditioning

The dark stairwell. The reception area is chaotic almost non existant.

Prapath the young person who was the staff member I had contact with. Breakfast served in my room, it was delicious and plenty full. The variety of charge plugs. The hot water for the shower. There was nothing Prapath wouldn't do to ensure his guests had a good experience in Kandy. He went to the railway station to get tickets for my next journey, walked with me to show me the way to the Temple of the Tooth Relic. The location is very convenient . Great value for money.

The location was really good and the host was honestly such a a gem! Nothing was too much trouble, so smily and helped us get to the station on the day we left. A honey. When we first arrived we were slightly skeptical was walked through a cafe and the communal area was closed off, but I guess that’s just being slightly out of season and our stay was really perfect. Not sure it would be great for a solo traveller but fab as a couple and a really good size room which is rare!

Old building and facilities but for the price is a GREAT option in town!

The location and the manager! Prabath was a very gentle, kind and helpful man! And a great breakfast cooker! The accommodation was value for money!
