All was really amazing, one of the best hotels of our lives, all was fantastic we were super pampered and the food is really amazing! 100% recommended!! The chef is very very good and the service of Janaka was very very good!

An absolutely fantastic place to stay. Probably the best on our trip to Sri Lanka. Many people want to stay at beachfront properties when they visit hikkaduwa, we stayed at a beachfront property and ended up cancelling our reservation after one night because it did not meet our expectations. Instead we luckily found 33 lake view terrace and ended up adding an extra night stay because of how perfect it was. The staff were so very friendly and the manager is exceptional. The rooms are immaculate and designed beautifully. We had two rooms booked and the view out of both rooms was incredible. The breakfast was the fresh and cooked to perfection. The lunch was also fantastic and very very reasonable. The 3 night stay was very reasonable. When we arrived to our next accommodation up the coast we wondered whether we should go back to lake view terrace. I will be back to this place and I will be recommending it to as many people as possible. Thank you so much for an exceptional stay.

The location is convenient by tuk-tuk to Hikkaduwa beach. The rooms are beautiful, each decorated differently. breakfast and dinner were ample and delicious. The best part was the manager, a very helpful and interesting man. We hired a boat with driver and enjoyed better-than-expected snorkeling outside the reef.

The property is absolutely stunning. Amazing attention to detail. A slice of tranquility yet only 6 mins drive away from the hustle and bustle of the local beaches and town. The staff were faultless, nothing was too much. The Host Pandu was incredibly helpful and attentive, he made us feel at home immediately. Also, his previous experience as a tour guide shone through, telling us lots of interesting things about the area as well as Sri Lanka itself. The chef was also incredible, the Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious. Can't recommend this place enough.

Hard to find anything to criticise here. The only thing that I had noticed was the drains in the shower overfilled quickly which meant that during a shower, the shower tray was quickly drowning in water. Not a negative per se but probably worth highlighting.

Don't let the drive mislead you, as the automated shutters open, the magnificence of the hotel on the other side will leave you in awe. 33 Lake Terrance has quite easily topped the list of the best hotels we've stayed at Sri Lanka (7 in total). The views, the decor, the cleanliness (in particular for someone with mild OCD like myself), the comfort of the room. The only hotel where the power plugs were positioned conveniently, full length mirror, lighting and the view from the room were ace. I was so impressed with everything about the hotel. But this is not even the best thing. Its staff, their warmth, professionalism, engaging nature, nothing was too much trouble. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and shall certainly be returning myself.

The location is amazing, right on the lagoon. You can see the local fisherman every day :). The hotel manager and the staff were super friendly and helpful. They organized for us great sunset boat safary with one local fisherman. The room was spacious, incredibly decorated and the bathroom was just wow!

I think this is by far the highest review I've ever left for a property in my 10 years of traveling! Staying at 33 Lake terrace was a true experience rather than just another hotel stay. It's ideal if you're looking for a relaxing getaway to disconnect from the hustle bustle of touristy areas. Hikkaduwa beach area is 10min by car if you want to go there but we opted to stay the 2 days at the hotel! Location: It's situated in the middle of the lush jungle overlooking Hikkaduwa lake. It's a bit secluded but this is way this property is special! you get immersed in the nature around you away from people and disturbance. We stayed in the room on the ground floor and the view was just marvelous! Room and amenities: Room is spacious and has everything you need. Super comfy bed, seating area, a small lounger on the terrace. The bathroom is really something else! Ver Bali style bathroom with a bathtub in the middle and glass ceiling for natural light to come in. We just loved it! The infinity pool is very nice! Staff: For me this was the highlight of the place! Mr. Panduka, the property manager took very good care of us. He's such a kind, humble and generous person! We had such interesting conversations with him! He's a hospitality expert with passion about tourism and gave us many good tips about places to visit in Srilanka. He and the full staff made sure to offer a personalized service with superb attention to details. Food: The chef asks you ahead of time about the meal you'd like to have. Every single meal we had was really exceptional! Lake tour: the hotel offers a very nice lake tour on a traditional raft with one stop to see the cinnamon fields and a small view point. We also saw many birds around the lake. Very nice relaxing tour. I want to thank mr. Panduka again for his kindness and generosity. I definitely recommend this place and cannor wait to visit again!

There wasn’t loads to do in the local area but, with a hotel this good, it wasn’t a problem. They also arranged a fishing boat trip for us which was fantastic.

We honestly could not have been treated better. The staff were INCREDIBLE! From the amazing meals cooked by the in-house chef to dining under the stars, surrounded by candlelight, it truly was bliss. We’d definitely recommend the seafood platter - it was the best thing we ate all holiday (and we ate a LOT!). The finishing touches in the rooms were also great, you can tell the owners have style.

Nothing - it’s amazing!

33 Lake Terrace is perfect. The pictures don’t do this place justice. It is peaceful, tranquil and a perfect paradise. The scenery and views are breath taking. The hotel has amazing decor and a lot of thought has been put in to the designs of the bedrooms. The staff were lovely and so helpful - nothing was too much effort for them. This is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. we can not recommend this place enough and did not want to leave. It is a great location as it is a 15 minute walk to the beach and 5 minute tuk tuk ride. The best place in Hikkaduwa to stay!

Nothing, everything was perfect!

We had the most fantastic three nights at 33 Lake Terrace. The manager and staff is super welcoming and friendly, and the manager gave us a lot of great tips on places and things to see in Sri Lanka. The manager has worked as a tour guide in Sri Lanka for many years before becoming a manager. He also speaks perfect English. The property is beautiful and so peaceful right by the lake, with a lovely swimming pool. The whole hotel and the rooms are beautifully designed. We did an afternoon catamaran canoe trip on the lake with a local fisherman and the manager as our guide. It was great fun. The food is also amazing and the best we had in Sri Lanka! The chef is a world-star chef who has worked at several of the biggest luxury hotels in Dubai and has won the world championship. We will definitely come back to 33 Lake Terrace.

there is nothing I didn’t like - it was beautiful! only things I can possibly think of about is giving an option at breakfast time, and improving the Wi-Fi slightly as it was slow - but hey everyone needs a digital detox :-)

The friendly and attentive staff, superb food (seriously seriously amazing Sri Lankan food, just tell the chef what sort of thing you fancy and leave it up to him), wonderful views and tranquil atmosphere. Very fun boat trip to a local cinnamon plantation with a local fisherman and hotel staff.

Tbh nothing

The service and the management staff was excellent. The chef is great and cooks delicious meals whether Srilankan, English or Pan Asian. The chef will also keep your preferences in mind. Our favorite part was that you can have breakfast any time you please, even at 1:00 p.m. The location is ideal, set on a beautiful lake. The atmosphere is extremely relaxing and romantic. Its is the perfect place to unwind after city activities, clubs and water sports. Honestly we stayed at Amari, Marino Beach and Fox Kandy all are 5 start resorts but this was our best stay overall. The rooms are designed asthetically and every room has a unique theme. This is truly a 5 star hotel but with a family environment . Everyone is very kind and generous . They wil ask you multiple times if you need anything - and provide a prompt service . This place was the best part of our trip. I've been to Sri Lanka twice but I haven't met any match when it comes to the hospitality of this place.
