Pool villa is not private; on a public beach with lots of footfall. We knew this before we booked but would have been disappointed had we not read other reviews advising of the same.

Ahu Bay was the perfect place to spend the final two nights of our trip around the island. The hotel occupies a beautiful position between two picturesque Sandy coves. The design of the property was stunning and our room was luxurious and comfortable (especially loved the half open air sitting area of our pool villa). The views from the restaurant overlooking the infinity pool and beach beyond are postcard perfect. Staff here do everything possible to make your stay wonderful and the food was delicious! The highlight was a candlelit dinner on the beach to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We would come back again without hesitation!

Our stay at Abu Bay was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth by the staff, who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort throughout the stay. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable and well-appointed. What truly sets this hotel apart is its stunning location. Surrounded by a private beach cove! Absolutely stunning location, beautiful rooms with sea views, great breakfast and very friendly staff (especially Sahan who went above and beyond). A real hidden gem that I would definitely return to! I would also recommend visiting the near by turtle sanctuary.

This is paradise on Earth! A human-sized hotel with 13 rooms and numerous services. The staff is very helpful, always very friendly and willing to assist. The rooms are functional and decorated with attention to detail. Amazing views of coconut trees, the pool, and the Indian Ocean. The beach is very well equipped, not crowded, right at the hotel's doorstep, with sun loungers, canopy beds, and staff to monitor and assist guests. The place is very calm and relaxing. The hotel is like a secluded island in an area that doesn't have much interest in itself. The highlight: the restaurant serves excellent food, worthy of a starred restaurant, catering to all tastes at reasonable prices. The breakfast is also excellent, nothing like the bland international food of big hotel chains. The chef was attentive to our needs and tried to fulfill every wish we had. What's more, for my husband's birthday, we were offered a cake and a bottle of wine. We really felt pampered in Ahu Bay. Thanks again to all staff for this memorable holiday!

Beautiful hotel, beach and surroundings in secluded cove. Fantastic food with great options for breakfast, lunch and dinner and we were made to feel very welcome and looked after by all of the friendly staff, notably Nashinta, Navindra, Lahiru, Dilhan, Lakshan, Sudun, Thishan and Ishant. It was perfect.

Everything, it couldn't have been more perfect. The ocean and beach setting, the fresh stylish interiors, impeccably maintained, pristine clean, the friendly attentive staff, the delicious food (breakfast is wonderful the fruit platter with so many tropical fruits wow) the peace and tranquillity, the plentiful day beds and sun loungers, the pool. Small and intimate yet private. Could not ask for more or better. An idyllic luxury retreat.

Our 2 bedroom villa was spacious with an open air lounge area. We enjoyed our own swimming pool which wasn’t private. There were 2 rooms above us which also shared the cabana. We originally thought when booking the villa would be private. It was still lovely but probably not suited to honeymooners or families as the bedrooms were not connected.

Ahu Bay resort offered a true beachfront location. It was lovely to wake up and enjoy a swim from the villa. The beach is small tucked into a narrow bay with swaying palm trees 🌴and safe to swim. The small modern boutique style hotel offered an excellent restaurant with an interesting food & wine menu. All staff members were friendly and efficient.

Our stay during the christmas days at Ahu Bay was excellent. Amazing views, spacious Rooms all with sea view, delicious food, very friendly and attentive staff. They really make every wish come true. I would rate the overall experience 10/10 and would really recommend it. Espacially to couples for a nice and romantic getaway in wonderful Sri Lanka!

That we booked only 01 night – should've been 02 nights.

The hotel is located in one of the most picturesque areas in Ahangama opening up to the sea. Whichever room option you select, you are guaranteed an amazing view of the ocean. The hotel is situated next to probably the most amazing beach as well. You can swim here for hours on end as the waves are sort of calm because of the natural breakwater created by the rocks around. The service is immaculate. We had butler-like service answering to our every need. The waiting staff during the meals were also super friendly and attentive. We loved taking all of our meals at the property. The food was also delicious and one of our highlights during the stay – particularly the dinner from the a la carte menu. This hotel is just one of those we can have more of in the coast of Sri Lanka. The people, food and views all combined to make our stay super memorable.
