It was a pleasure to stay in Alex Home Stay. Hosts are extremely helpful and friendly. They helped us with ordering tuktuks, Alex even offered to drove us to the train station as it was on his way to work. Room was pleasant and clean with beautiful view. What is quite rare to find in Sri Lanka kitchen was available to use for guests. Definitely geat value for money.

Alex Home Stay was very comfortable. The location is perfect for exploring Kandy. Its situated a little bit oitside the coty centre in a nice peacefull area up a mountain. The room was very clean and had everything you need. The highlight was the private balcony with nice view to the mountain. The hosts were very nice and helpful and the food was also very good. We also extended oir stay because we liked it here.

Everything. The house and the room have very nice view. It’s in a village a bit away from the city, so it’s very quiet. Malka is very attentive and an amazing cook, and Alex is very knowledgeable about tourist info, culture and religions. Thank you for the lovely experience!

Malka and Alex were so helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was amazing. Homestay is lays out off the city hustle and got the best views from the rooms. Easy to get from there to Kandy city center and all the site seeings. (Which Alex and Malka can help and advise on). You can also go on a one day trip to Sigiriya. Or for a hike at Knuckle mountain. Would stay there definitely again.

We had a great stay here in Kandy. The rooms were really clean and tidy with an amazing view from the balcony. Malka and her husband were amazing hosts. They explained to us the area and how to get where. They prepared a super great breakfast which was rich and delicious. You can reach everything via Tuktuk or supermarket even by foot. Really recommend staying here.

We had read that there were steep steps to the property so were prepared for them and the handrails helped but they ARE steep and you need to climb the stone steps carefully.

We really enjoyed our stay here with hosts Alex and Malka. The room was large and bright and the bed very comfortable. There was a bedside table and a clothes rack which we found handy! There was a kettle with complimentary tea bags. A fridge just outside our room was very useful and there was a small kitchen available for guests to use if they wanted. We were so pleased to have a roomy balcony looking out over the town and away up to the beautiful mountains. We spent time just relaxing there enjoying the view and listening to the birds in the trees all around us. Breakfast was excellent! There was a good selection and it was very tasty and plentiful and set us up for the day! The area is very quiet and yet not far from the centre of Kandy thanks to the tuktuks we used using the PickMe app which our hosts recommended to us.

We stayed 2 nights in Alex Home Stay ! The welcome was fabulous, as the hosts themselves. They are here for you whatever you need (and more !) but not too intrusive. You can rely on them for everything. The room was very nice and clean, with a beautiful view from the balcony where you can enjoy a drink or foods. It is a very peaceful place, where you can rest after a great day of visits and you feel like home !

Very friendly host and amazing view from the balcony. We enjoyed our stay here and the breakfast was nice. The way to the homestay is very steep, so a tuktuk is recommended. Due to the rain and fog was a lot of humidity in the room but it did not bother us too much. We would come again!!

I really enjoyed my stay at Alex Home Stay. Malka and Alex are such lovely people and they went above and beyond. They helped me with everything I needed, from practical advice to arranging my day trip to Sigiriya. The room had everything you'd need and there is an amazing view from the balcony. There is also a little kitchen with fridge, kettle, utensils and everything else you may need for simple food preparation. If you want to feel welcome like a member of their family, this is the perfect place to book for your stay in Kandy!

I cannot fault the property.

The property was relaxing, clean and comfortable. The rooms were spacious, the bathroom facilities were extremely clean and modern, the view from the balcony was serene, and best of all, the hosts of the property Malka and Alex were extremely warm, hospitable and kind people. Alex homestay is one of the best homestays I’ve stayed in! Malka is an amazing host and you immediately feel welcome! The property have an amazing view (I considered staying and extra night just for the view), my room was very delicate and clean and had a private attached balcony (which was a very positive surprise to me). I had access to a kitchen corner and fridge. There is busses going into the old part of town all the time, so it is no problem that the homestay is a bit outside of the main tourist area. I can highly recommend Alex homestay!

Everything was perfect, it truly was.

I really enjoyed my stay in 1 person room. Although it was only for one night and I booked it only 2-3 hours before my arrival, the hosts made a really warm welcome for me, e.g. offered me an umbrella as it was pouring, offered me some tea and had long and interesting conversations with me. The room itself was clean, quite spacious, there was hot water in the shower, balcony was with a great view. Also, there was a possibility to use shared kitchen. Would have stayed longer there if I wouldn't had the need to proceed my trip through Sri Lanka. The hosts also offered me a nice breakfast at early morning. Very cosy place and really heart warming hosts, they truly enjoy hosting people from other countries.

Everything was wonderful. Balcony with mountain view. Large bedroom with a desk, fan, AC. Beautiful bathroom with spacious shower cubicle. Hot shower. Wi-Fi actually worked (first place we’ve been that has decent Wi-Fi!). Quiet for a large city as elevated and back from the road. Fantastic kitchen and really cold full height fridge (no freezer). Everything completely immaculate. Lovely hosts. Could not have asked for more

Just one word of warning, the rooms have fantastic views because the house is built into the hillside, so there quite a few steps in the building.

A great homestay, Malka is an amazing host, she welcomes you like a member of her family and does everything possible to make sure you enjoy your stay. The rooms are on the top floor and have balconies with amazing views out across the valley to the mountains in the distance. Massive fridge to store drink and a little kitchen area to prepare snacks. Breakfast was good, very generous and we had dinner there twice, which was also very good. Alex is great for organising tours. He arranged an excellent car with a super driver to take us on a three day tour. Speak to him first before booking anything in Sri Lanka.

The owner is really adorable The room is not big but yet it's spacious and agreable. The bed was comfortable The private balcony with chairs and a litlle table is a big plus, there is a beautiful view on the surroundings There is a common kitchen (and a supermarket is close by) and the owner can also cook good food if needed Bus for the city center are very regular and only takes 10min from the main road (40 roupies/pers). With a tuk tuk it cost about 250 roupies to reach the city center.
