Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt was all great
This is the best accommodation we had in Sr Lanka. It is all brand new, clean and modern. The views from the balcony at the back was over fields of sugar cane where you can hear lots of birds including the peacocks. As it is situated next to the National Park, sometimes elephants can be spotted just across the road. There is a great menu and the restaurant is nicely cooled to enjoy your meal and drinks. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The manager, Hiran was so helpful and even arranged a tuk tuk for us to go the the nearest ATM. Thank you Ali Weta

United KingdomThe food was ok, slightly bland in taste and not warm enough, also it took 2h 30min to prepare.
The staff were exceptionally kind, and very open and flexible to add an extra bed into our room. The pool was amazing and, to add to that, the location was breathtaking with nature basically on the doorstep: an elephant across the road. This guesthouse also offered a beautiful and stunning safari trip.

SlovakiaWow! Its new, its clean, its great! Would definately come back. Rooms were huge and comfy. Pool was clean and just perfect. Its very close to the entrance to the park, you can see elefants right just out from the hotel (even better experience than visiting the park hahah). We even had dinner there - it was ok. Plus great staff very helpful and welcoming.

United KingdomDidn’t realise it took so long to get food but once you understand why you just make sure you let them know earlier so they can get the ingredients and make it - this will improve as it gets busier. There wasn’t anything else I didn’t like.
The room was huge and had a balcony overlooking sugar cane fields so quiet -you could watch the peacocks in the morning- lovely. Pool was a good size considering there were very few of us there as the second floor is not finished yet which is probably why we got it for such a good price. Food can take a while to arrive and it is a good idea to let them know what you want a couple of hours before you want to eat and they may have to go out to get the ingredients. I’m sure this will change as it gets a name for itself as facilities are great and they can put you in touch with a great young safari driver who was considerate to the animals and very interesting. This is a great location. If you visit the safari park I highly recommend the restaurant opposite it is the brain child of a famous Sri Lankan potter and you can see the pottery and eat the most amazing food. The restaurant design is also quite lovely - designed by the man himself. I would definitely get to this hotel for a couple of nights while they are building up their clientele again before it becomes the expensive hotel it will one day be. Cash only as they have to have so many years accounts to get a card machine. Well worth staying here while visiting the safari park and elephant orphanage. You can even see elephants from the front of the hotel on occasions as well.

SlovakiaPerfect location - 5 minutes from national park entrance. great host who really wants his guests to feel welcomed and taken care of. The food was fantastic, the pool was clean and there were not so many people staying there at that time,so it was quiet. Plus thing: there is one elephant coming really close to the hotel to feed,so you can see him from 1 meter distance :)

GermanyNo Wi-Fi in our room and the Wi-Fi in the restaurant area was so slow you could barely use it, not a problem for us though. I would recommend not to organize an Udawalawe safari through the hotel but do it separately with a reputable company, as we were very unhappy with our „guide“ and overall organization. Safari started too late so there were a lot of people waiting for their entrance tickets at the gate with us at the back of the line. Our driver was very reckless, drove so close to the elephants that they got scared and ran away, he even hit one elephant on the head when it got too close to the vehicle. He failed to spot most of the animals, even the obvious ones right next to the road. He almost ran over a turtle which was walking in the middle of the road had my wife not screamed to stop. On top unfortunately he didn’t speak a word of English
Our room was very clean and you could see that it has been newly built. Very comfortable bed (we loved the pillows) and very well designed room features overall. The rice & curry was very good, breakfast was okay. Nice pool to cool off during the day

United KingdomNothing. It was all lovely 😊
Amazing rooms, well maintained pool, just what we needed after our bike ride. The view out back is stunning with peacocks in the sugar cane, and there are elephants out front. Perfect. But what pulls it all together is the manager. He's a lovely man, very helpful, and a complete star.
