Great location on beach front with private beach and sunloungers. Very accessible calm warm waters in this bay in March. Accommodation comprises of blocks of semidetached spacious chalets. We were lucky enough to have one opening right onto the beach. Good sized pool 30m but get in before breakfast if you want a decent swim. Passikuda means green algae and this was present in the river you cross by footbridge to reach your room. Crocodiles swim here and if you’re lucky you may get to see one mid afternoon. Not much to do close by very few restaurants or bars but hotel is self contained with good cuisine.

They served nice Sri lankan breakfast with variations and even other alternatives. Staff was service minded and friendly. I was visiting my mother in SL, and we took a ride to the east coast and stayed at this hotel. Thoughtful and kind staff who accommodated my old mother, and made our stay a very pleasant one, Will definitely go back with my family next time. Highly recommend this resort.

Laundry services were good but enormously overpriced. The food at breakfast and dinner weren’t great. Compared to other restaurants we’ve eaten at, where they ask for the desired spice level, they did not ask at the resort and provided us with the spiciest meal we ate during our entire 3 week trip round Sri Lanka. The staff tried to act like we were overreacting and said it was the normal level of spice. However they did give us complimentary bowls of ice cream.

Very nicely located on the beachfront. The room was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom is very big and the shower is very nice.

It was a shame that the pool bar was closed, but nothing too big to complain about. Would have appreciated a few more beach chairs. There was also higher rate of crows, especially by the river facing rooms - they absolutely enjoy snatching anything within their range, so need to be extra vigilant.

The resort's location was its main highlight - it was right in front of the cleanest part of the beach, making it an absolute delight to go for clear warm swim, and having the pool within premises to jump into afterwards. Cleanliness was above par, and the staff were kind enough to accommodate to our requests. Food lived up to our expectations (we ordered from the à la carte menu), and the breakfast buffet was a lovely spread to start the day with. Enjoyed the river with crocodiles in them, and was even lucky enough to spot a couple of them.

There are two main problems here one is the restaurant with the breakfast being 2 star at best with limited choices poor juices and stale bread and cakes. If you have not chosen the full board package there is no al la carte in the evening just a buffet. The second problem is the lack of sunbeds and umbrellas or shade. There is a significant shortage of sunbeds and people get up early to put a towel on a sunbed, or the pool boys do it for them. A ridiculous situation in a 4 star hotel.

Overall we enjoyed our stay here. Good sandy beach location, next to the public beach which was a delight to see with all local families enjoying it. Excellent pool and a nice river view room. A nice seaside resort to stay if you are touring around. Easy access via the beach to the small local village with a few restaurants.
