The food offering is very expensive (we were offered fried rice for us$12 per person which we declined and went next door) . Lots of ants in the room.

Location is right on the beach front, provided loungers with mats. Room had a kettle and good air conditioning. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice balcony overlooking the sea plus good parking .

When checking out the food turned out to be quite expensive, one of the most expensive we had in Sri Lanka.. we did not check in advance but also didn't expect this pricing.

The beachfront where the hotel is situated at is really a gem! We we were almost the only ones at the beach, with a calm sea and beautifull bay to walk and swim. It was magical. Hotel offers food and nice room with a view on the ocean. Hotel isn't finished yet so looking forward to sea what time will bring. I fear It won't be such a hidden gem anymore! Owner is really making an effort with the hotel.

rather expensive, nevertheless no card payment is possible (if I stayed several days I would need to carry around half a fortune in cash - that's not acceptable for such a place) Sunloungers under coconut palms (shadow - makes sense) but coconuts were not removed for safety purposes (other locations do this because of the risk of coconuts dropping to the ground very unexpectedly) Hotel is still under construction (interrupted due to COVID). This wasn't visible while booking

Very slow internet, that is often in Sri Lanka. Food was a little bit expensive. However tasty. Picture is looks like it is more new that it is not so new in reality.

Ocean view. Only 6 rooms. Beach is good. And walking distance to Pasikuda beach. Some snorkling in walking distance is also available.

Perfect location on a quiet swimming beach… so peaceful… staff very friendly and felt homely..the owner Dean is an amazing chef🙌 I had the best fresh fish BBQ he made especially for us👌

As we checked in, the hotel was just opened for 1 month. However, the construction project started shortly before the pandemic. They couldn’t finish the construction and have chosen to open the hotel for business with 2 upper floors unfinished. - We arrived at the end of the month. They said the internet data limit has been used, so, we’d need to wait until the beginning of the month to have Wi-Fi connection. They did change the Booking.com description at that time. - The breakfast costs $8 / person, which is overpriced for what you get. - The facility in the room was aged. It gave a feeling to stay in a hotel that was forgotten during the pandemic, and just opened without much attention of renewing the facilities. We told the owner at the end of our stay. He said he’s happy that we were honest and he’ll renew the facilities. Hope his words have come true.

- The manager was super helpful and friendly. - The room was spacious with ocean view. - The location was good - walking distance to Pasikuda beach, which is better for swimming than Kalkudah beach.

Great place and location! Very nice almost empty beach (with cows 😁), new hotel, which soon will have more rooms. All the staff is very helpful, room is clean and with nice design (love the concrete table/wardrobe thing!) All rooms has sea view and balcony. Dinner at the beach with freshly caught tuna was good too, thanks to the guys!

We were fortunate to be the first guests after the hotel's renovation and reopening and were deeply impressed. The staff was incredibly attentive and hospitable. Everything was beautifully clean and cozy, and they served the most delicious coffee we had during entire trip to Sri Lanka. The view from the window was breathtaking, overlooking the ocean and a beautifully maintained tropical garden. We were truly amazed by our stay at this hotel and highly recommend it. If you're looking for excellent service, a beautiful and clean environment, and stunning views, this hotel in Sri Lanka is the perfect choice. Want to thank separately the manager, Himaz. He was proactive, ready to help and made our stay more then perfect :)

Aqua Marine Beach Hotel - Kalkuda is located in front of one of the most beautiful beaches in Sri Lanka. This is a newly built hotel and the staff were very good. The rooms are large and each room has a very nice balcony with sea views.
