The whole experience was really amazing. Before we arrived, we were contacted so that we could be picked up from Ella train station, with clear instructions. We were also running a bit late and could pre-order from their restaurant. When we got there, the whole team of staff were so friendly and kind, helping us with luggage, letting us know what we could do and arranging transport. They work with particular tuk tuk drivers that they feel offer good service and that they trust. The meals were delicious, in particular the breakfasts. The room that we got was spacious and had all the facilities that we needed. There were plenty aircon so we weren't too hot. It is in the middle of nature so there can be some tiny insects about- but we loved that. All in all a really wonderful time and I couldn't recommend enough.

Not much to comment here, thought the yoga class was way below average from past experiences of yoga classes in such places unfortunately.

Loved the peace and quiet in a very natural setting. Very helpful staff. Monkeys and wildlife generally were good fun.

We had some friends visit us in the room (bugs) but they were easily trapped and the staff were happy to relocate them 😂

A little oasis away from the music and nightlife but still close enough to walk within 15 minutes to the main Ella strip. We preferred to take a tuk tuk at night, which were very easy to get and not expensive. The breakfast was wonderful and peaceful- we particularly liked the deviled onions. We were in jungle room four and although we did get some cardio in getting to and from the room, it was secluded and beautiful. The monkeys, the little doggie greeting us with a wagging tail, and the sound of jungle birds made this place truly special. Service was extremely friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend if you desire a unique experience- and the morning yoga really helped us start our day energized and the yoga studio is nestled right in the jungle making it an extremely serene and relaxing. It is in the jungle, so keep in mind you will be up close and personal with nature. The fan kept us plenty cool at night although there was no ac we were never uncomfortable. We personally don't need room service and had a bit of hard time with it. When we stay somewhere, we like to keep our room to ourselves during the stay. We don't need anyone going into our room making beds or anything. First day I happened to be in the room during cleaning and told them we don't need it at all. I was handed a new toilet paper roll and was happy with it. Next day they had made the bed, changed trash bags and lost some of our stuff (maybe thinking it was trash or something?) I understand this is normal for hotels and some people ask for it, but we didn't and told them that too. Other issue is "soundproofing" they advertise on the website. Rooms are FAR from soundproof. Whole room is open window tops with only bug net on them. Meaning, you hear everything all the time. Dogs barking, people laughing next door etc. Rooms also have very thin curtains which means there's full on light 247. (Outside has lighted stairway.) It's not a big issue, but worth mentioning. Hotel doesn't have any kind of hang out area, and you barely see other guests. (Pro and a con at the same time).

Rooms are stunning. Spacious and beautiful. Room is mostly clean. Bed was big and comfortable. Staff at the hotel is amazing, they truly helped us with anything we asked. We did yoga one morning and that was nice and relaxing add-on to our stay. Favourite part was a cooking class! Such an amazing couple of hours with delicious self made meal at the end. Highly recommended!

We loved everything about Arana. Firstly, we stayed in the treehouse and that really exceeded our expectations! It's two stories and almost fully glass - perfect for monkey spotting. We opted for the Sri Lankan breakfast, but the the things that stood out the most were the coconut rotis. It was a short walk into the centre of Ella, but the hotel does provide a free tuk-tuk service to the main road. We would recommend that you message the hotel as you arrive in order for them to pick you up as the road is very narrow. The staff were also super helpful. We would highly recommend staying here.

You did need a tuk tuk to get around the area but it was well connected with a driver on hand at the lodge and not too expensive.

The setting is very natural and you really feel in the middle of nature and very relaxed here. Monkeys come to your balcony! The beds were comfortable and the room was cool despite not having air con. The yoga classes were beautifully set in a separate area with views and sounds of the jungle. The yoga teacher Michael was superb and very advanced on his practice. There is the chance to take two classes a day if you wish. Cookery lessons with Suresh were also a highlight for me.

Nice place to relax in spectacular environment. Morning sunrise, birds singing, morning welcome by monkeys, nice set up surrounded by trees and morning yoga made my stay memorable. Asanga (host) and rest of the staff were great too. Well done!

Lots of steps but need to expect that with Treetop place so if you don’t want , don’t book. Rooms need somewhere inside to sit as can’t sit outside for long as so hot.

Location in Ella and TreeTop setting were fabulous and staff were great. The breakfast location was so pretty. Yoga was superb. We were ill from an outside restaurant UFO and the staff were great getting what we needed. Chill in Ella is a good restaurant.

Having to order breakfast and dinner in advance lacked a bit of flexibility. Once even when we ordered dinner in time one of the meals wasn't available as it was too late, so I'd recommend ordering even earlier than the deadline.

We stayed in the Treehouse which was absolutely amazing! The views from the room were unreal. The food was gorgeous, especially the 5-curry special. Delicious breakfast. The restaurant is a lovely setting. You are surrounded by amazing plants and wildlife. The staff are very nice. Beautiful monkeys peering into the room! Good mosquito net.
