Big & clean room with a comforty bed & a nice balcony. The owners are the most awesome people and made one of the best dinner and breakfast we had on our whole journey. They also organized a safari in a very short time for us which was a private tour for 4 hours:) I can recommend to stay there!

We stayed in the Baby Elephant Green House for one night before our safari in Udawalawe National Park. We loved the place. The owners are so nice and welcoming, they prepared a delicious Sri Lankan dinner and in the early morning a ‘take-out’ breakfast for our safari. They organised a perfect safari tour for us. The room was very comfortable, spacious and clean.

Nothing, Everything was amazing!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I had an amazing stay at baby elephant, the hosts were more than helpful and attentive, they can’t do enough to ensure a pleasant stay. The rooms are very modern and spotless clean. Bed is comfortable, great air con and balcony area. Hosts offered us dinner and for 1500 LKR it was amazing. The most authentic home cooked Sri Lankan meal you will have in Sri Lanka. Breakfast was also amazing. We asked for certain meals and they went above and beyond. When visiting Udawalawe safari this is the place to stay !

Basically nothing. The initial impression we had when we arrived at the property was different as the guest area was behind their house. But, as soon as we saw the rooms and the greenery in the guest area, we were delighted.

Rooms and bathrooms was clean and spacious enough. Location was good since it was very close to the main junction with only a two minutes walk. The hosts were nice and made arrangements for a safari vehicle with very short notice. Food was delicious and homemade.

Wifi connection is not good enough for remote working

I loved everything about this place! The hosts are super kind, they helped us with everything we needed (safari, transfers, laundry, money change, literally everything). Breakfast is traditional and tasty, the room is clean, silent, with air conditioning and a private bathroom. The location is perfect, 5 mins walking from Elephant Transit home and reservoir.

The breakfast, apart from the fruit, is not really suited to Western tastes but is very filling and home made.

Similar to a homestay with a lovely family who made us so welcome and gave us such great service and help. Rooms are aesthetically well presented and the terrace has a tropical feel about it. It's location is fab for access to the bus route, local amenities and the Elephant Transit centre that is approx 300 metres away. We also chose to have our evening meal there on our first night which was delicious.

Very friendly and helpful hosts. They did a great job organising our stay, including the safari tour at a good price - and they did it absolutely selflessly. The location is central and yet it is absolutely quiet. The air conditioning and fan work very well and almost silently. Breakfast is very tasty, although we don't like spicy food at all. The free welcome cocktail was really the best mango juice we got in Sri Lanka. We would love to come back here.

Nothing, an outstanding stay

An outstanding welcome to Sri Lanka. Hospitable hosts went over and above to ensure we had a a traditional experience. The kind owners are also coconut processors and we had the pleasure of experiencing the end to end process of coconut oil. A once in a lifetime experience. Breakfasts and dinners were delicious and freshly prepared, and presented with care. Nothing was too much. We had three early morning starts, 05:00, and the owners were up and ready with our breakfast prepared in takeaway packets.  The room was spacious, spotless, smelt fresh, and had plush towels, strong WIFI, hot water and air-conditioning. The bed was very comfortable with good pillows and linen. The balcony was beautifully presented and green, giving an secluded rainforest experience on your doorstep. Incomparable value for money again all other stays in the country.

Excellent! The host are extremely warm and helpful,they organized the safari for us and was amazing. Rooms are brand new , bed very comfortable, breakfast and dinner there is very recomendable because is very good and convenient since the town is small and there are not many options outside.

There's nothing to dislike.

Great room, spacious, modern, with good a/c, wonderful bed and mosquito net. Nice balcony. Good water pressure and temperature. Simply amazing owners, always ready to care for yiur every need. Amazing food, one of the best rice and curry i had in sri lanka.

Room + en-suite were spacious and ultra clean. Four poster bed made the mosquito net really effective. Air con + comfortable bed resulted in a good nights sleep. Location perfect for safari + walking distance to the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home. Breakfast + evening meal were both excellent and the hosts were both helpful and hospitable 😊

This little gem is hidden away behind the main road. You wouldn't expect a place like this there. The room was furnished very comfortably in a modern way and it was spotlessly clean. The best part was the owners who were super welcoming and warm. They attended to all of our needs including booking our safari for us. They arranged a dinner for us and cooked a table full of different dishes for us to try. Everything was super delicious and priced reasonably. There is not much in the area but you can walk to the baby elephant transit home within 10 minutes. We recommend everyone to stay there.

Our stay at Baby Elephant was amazing! The room we were given was the cleanest me and my partner have come across in the whole of Sri Lanka - it was totally spotless. The room was also stylishly decorated yet simple. Our hosts were extremely kind and generous - arranging safari for us and going over and beyond in every aspect of our stay. Every morning we received an excellent breakfast with multiple options, it was delicious! We were also offered complementary afternoon tea. We opted for dinner every night at the hotel, and every meal was perfect. We were offered home-cooked traditional Sri Lankan meals. We could not fault this stay and the host family!

Everything was amazing, it was the cleanest place I've stayed in Sri Lanka, the hosts are the kindest people ever and the food is all home cooked and huge portions. Dinner is amazong and only 800 rupees. Will definitely stay again

We stayed for two nights and it was amazing! The family are great hosts and we had one of the best curries during our hole trip! we had our room on the second floor and could eat coconuts directly from the palm trees around the balcony! everything was very clean and the rooms are super nice! it‘s the perfect place to do the safari :) thank you very much for everything! we enjoyed baby elephant green house a lot!
