Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaNothing to mention, just 2 little improvements: - the insect net around bed had little holes in it but we had no problem with any insects due to them. Maybe in the near future is worth a refresh of them. - wifi near the tree houses, as it works only near the lobby/eating area (there is working very well) Otherwise, as mentioned above, we loved it!!
Everything!! It was an AMAZING experience. Sleeping almost outside in the middle of the nature is something that everyone should try at least once in a lifetime. We stayed in a tree house, which was very clean for an open space, with nets for keeping monkeys out, very clean bed sheets and towels (not so often in Sri Lanka), excellent food and very good prices for a remote location (full of nature and animals around you). The staff was amazingly warm and helpful with everything. I recommend this place 10000%. For sure will come back here if we will visit Yala again. Not a location for 5 stars hotel kinda people, otherwise you will love it. Also, we liked that they improved their game, now you can find toiletries and better food (we loved it) so they really take into account the feedback received. Make sure you understand that this is a safari area so going out of the premises by yourself can be dangerous, so book your lunch and dinner with them as little options are available in the area (we had a car and it was pretty difficult to find a decent lunch place around in the arrival day) -- they will ask you at arrival so you don't need to hustle before. They offer safari at a good price, also.

United KingdomWe had food there and it was slightly more expensive than was expecting. This is likely down to remoteness, but you aren’t told of price of dinner until after you’ve eaten.
Quite the experience. You really are staying in the elements which was quite an experience. Be prepared for an array of bugs and animals. The treehouse was great and had all amenities we required. Staff were fantastic and very helpful, even woke at 5am and prepared us a packed lunch and to see us off for our safari.

Such an experience! Sleeping in the nature surrounded with the nature. If you are looking for something different and exciting, this is it! The host was very kind and friendly. He was a true lover of nature and he took us for a walk nearby and showed us the largest badian tree we have ever seen. Ready to prepare dinner, breakfast and arrange safari (with a driver respectful to animals) or taxi to the nearest city. We recommend this experience a lot to travellers who are looking for something special.

Amazing experience of sleeping outdoors in the jungle. The tree house was very comfortable, with all necessary amenities. Lucky is the soul of this place, a great person who will make the stay even better.

FranceOur group had a great experience of staying in authentic tree houses! Complemented with an amazing 5-hour-long safari that the owners kindly organised for us (we saw several elephants, buffaloes, deers, peacocks etc.), and a tasty dinner around a bonfire, it was definitely one of the most unforgettable highlights of our Sri Lanka trip! A huge thanks to the team!

SloveniaWhen I've booked I've specifically asked for a tree house that is not on concrete pillars. The reply was positive. But when we arrived we were given different "tree house" which is nowhere near as cute as number 4. I've complained, and they have fixed it, but it kinda ruined a surprise for our kids! THE ISSUE was the communication between the hosts! The person that answers you on booking.com is not there and didn't communicate our request properly. The personnel on site were great though.
We stayed at Tree house (number 4) with two kids which looks like a fairy tale tree house. (others don't!) It was windy but ask for a fan if the wind stops.

United KingdomWould have really liked the option of Sri Lankan breakfast, but think they will start introducing this again once tourism picks up again after Covid restrictions and they have more guests. Western dinners at the restaurant were not great.
We stayed in a tree house and had the most amazing experience of waking of up with nature. A super cool experience if you like nature and or are travelling with children. The tree houses are spacious and have nets to keep the monkeys out, mosquito nets over the beds and a safe to keep valuables locked away, but the whole are feels safe and well looked after. When you enter the gates you feel a little like you re entering Jurassic Park, it's brilliant. Lovely reception and restaurant area too! Definitely visit the Kataragama Temple complex whilst there, especially if you are lucky enough to be there for a full moon puja, one of our most favourite Sri Lankan experiences. LOVELY staff and owner, wish them all the best with this business!

United KingdomThis is definitely an outdoor stay - we weren’t quite as prepared for how out in the open we were but that’s a reflection of us not reading the information correctly before going. Also a note re payment, there was no card payment available.
This is a very unique experience. The location makes it a great place to do a safari tour in Yala. The staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough to make us comfortable! We stayed in the tree house which is fully equipped with mosquito net, en-suite and eco-shower, it has everything you need. If you like camping or want to be in touch with nature, you need to stay here!

AustraliaWe spent one night in a tree house. It was an extraordinary experience which is highly recommended. Of course, it is important to note that you are really outside, but that is what makes it so special. In addition, a safari was organised for us to Yala National Park and transport to our next stop, both of which made planning super easy. It was very clean and the staff was very friendly.

PolandThe architecture of tree houses is really amazing. With a lot of nature sounds around you really feel like in the middle of a jungle. There is a big, old and beautiful tree next to the property. Close to Yala safari. The staff was very nice and helpful, as so the owner of the place. Tree houses are very clean. Water in the shower is cold but it didn’t bother us - it’s very refreshing. The local food was very tasty. We had a wonderful time and totally recommend this place for you!
