Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesFood (especially the dinner) could have been better. We are vegetarian and our main meal was a hodgepodge of stuff, most of which was covered in ketchup.
Staff was fantastic, tents were fun and amazingly comfortable, and the layout of the camp was really impressive. Safari was also great. A special shout out to Solomons, who is a fantastic guide

United StatesIt's not that I have any issues camping, I've camped in some really remote areas, with little to no comforts. The location was extremely difficult to find since there aren't any signs for it. Turns out it's because it's not a sanctioned property. Also, the description said the accommodation was in the park which one might think would mean that safari would start minutes from there - but we still had to drive about 40min to get to the entrance of the park. We should have stayed somewhere closer to the entrance. When we did arrive, the welcome was lukewarm and not super informative. I would have liked more information about the location and the park itself, but no. We went on a nature walk in the late afternoon - that was probably the most interesting part of our stay albeit still underwhelming. The evening meal was shared with a large tour group and was mediocre at best. We'd booked our safari for the morning and following our host's direction, we were to meet at the main tent for coffee before heading out a little bit later than originally planned. When we got there, we found that same tour group had already eaten/drank everything and left nothing for us. When the host showed up, he made some dismissive remarks and seemed put out by our wanting coffee. He ended up going and getting some from somewhere but we were rushed at this point and our departure was pushed back quite a bit. The safari itself was just ok too. During the safari, the guide (the same host from the camp) would randomly call out a name of a bird or animal, but gave us little to no information on them. He also seemed put out by any questions I had. We did get to see a couple of young (not quite baby) elephants, some jackals and a wild boar from a distance. But without any insight/information there was no real value to the tour - especially since you see elephants & birds all over Sri Lanka. A very uninformative safari.
It was fine, but I definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone.

United KingdomTook 30 mins off the beginning of the 4 hr safari without adding at the end. Promised and paid for night walk didn’t happen - Solomon confirmed it would happen knowing he was leaving for Columbo at dinner so he basically lied to our face.

SingaporeThe tents can get quite hot during the day (but there are fans)
Super kind and friendly staff. Definitely the best of the camp. The tents are super well equipped. You feel you are in a camp without compromising on comfort. The setting is very nice, and the vibe at night is awesome with the bonfire and the fire lamps. Great option to stay one night if you want to do safari in the afternoon and in the morning.

BelgiumHigh price is not in line with service and quality of food and accomodation. - food is of poor quality (certainly if you are vegetarian) - night walk that was advertised (and paid for) wasn’t organised without proper communication - wifi only very limited available in time (and no wifi or 4G in your tent) It was the most expensive part of our trip but also the most disappointing experience. We didn’t agree to pay the full price, but our credit card was already charged for the full amount. They told us they would come back on the bill given that not all services have been given according to our booking, but now 48 hours later still no news on that.
The safari was nice.

IndiaWe have a lot of dislikes in this property first one to say is we travelled almost 4 hours from Colombo to enjoy the camping site but it was not at all matching to our expectation nor the photos which they have shown. The washroom was too small and poor quality fitting / very flimsy. The major part of disappointment was the area is full of giant lizards resembling Komodo dragon very huge and it running around everywhere when we ask the staffs they says it’s our land monitor lizards which we use to drive snakes away from the property. This made us to feel the area was unsafe for us to stay especially children because they will not be aware of the surroundings. Also the tent is bit flimsy and it’s just a zipped tent so we were very skeptical to stay. Then we had lunch which was ok but over priced the ice cream was really bad. The property had arranged the safari for us which was amazing we spotted bunch of elephants (but the safari is bit pricy when we book through the property than the third party vendor) which is also expected so we didn’t mind. When we came back after the safari it was dark absolutely the property didn’t have much lights but in the photos they show it is well lit up and lamps placed everywhere, once we saw this all the ladies and children in the family were too scared to stay in the night. We immediately called the property manager and told we have paid for the lunch / safari and we don’t feel safe about staying in here so we want to cancel the booking / wanted refund. As the booking was made in booking.com immediately we informed booking.com customer care they told they will raise the concern to the property owner and get back. But these property people have told the wrong information to booking.com team that the lunch and safari has been organised and it’s hard to cancel the booking now, where as we paid for the lunch and safari. We only wanted to cancel the night stay. As the property owners told this booking.
The staffs are good and the tents are clean.

Big Game camp was an amazing experience. The tent was super comfortable with comfy beds and a shower. Dinner under stars was dreamy and very tasty. the staff were super helpful and attentive to any need, at any hour. The camp naturalist Solomon was a highlight, his knowledge and enthusiasm for animals and birds was infectious. he took us for a walk to see the sunrise from some high rocks near the camp and had an incredible eye for spotting and teaching us about the birds. we also did a safari with the camp that was hugely memorable and enjoyable, we saw lots of elephants, crocodiles, monkeys, buffalo and countless birds. Solomon was always so helpful with info about the latest spot. being a few feet from an elephant and a monkey with baby round it’s waist hopping into the jeep were unforgettable highlights.

Saudi ArabiaThe bathroom was a little bit not clean with spider nets in the corners. The shower grounds was little slippery and there was no bathroom shoes. There was samll opening in the top of the bathroom which allows flys and insects to be unwelcomed guests. Could be improved by putting a net. The way to the tent could be improved with wooden steps. The dinner was the almost the same for two nights. The location of the campus was actually 30 mins away from the national park.
Nice place for people who like camping but they didn't try it before like us. Well equipped tents. With clean beds, water, fan. The bathroom was ok and not more. Friendly staff, welcoming. We get welcoming srilankan coffee and biscuit. Tea also available. We were the only guests that time and the hospitality was perfect. There was quick presentation about how the things were going and what things we can do. Delicious breakfast and dinner with like 5 stars service. They asked us before we came if we prefer any special food and beverages. We had a free nature walk around the campus.
