All members of staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. The owner in particular was very considerate and helped us with everything we needed - including booking TukTuks, and giving us some snacks to have before an early start. Breakfast - large and delicious. Room was large and clean. Location - easy walk into the village, and walking distance to Lion Rock (though you can take a TukTuk)

Our best guest house in Sri Lanka. Very welcoming and smiling hosts. The room was really nice for the price. Breakfast was pretty good (especially the sri lankan one and their pancake), and a very nice kotthu for the evening ! Highly recommend them !!

Hot water pressure was weak in our room, but the got to used to this in Sri Lanka and it didn't affect our stay.

We enjoyed the location of the hotel. It is not far from the road with restaurants and shops but still is very quiet at night. The breakfast was the most traditional we had have in our trip. The owner gladly is explaining you about the meals he is serving and not only about this. If you start your trip from Sigiriya, I can recommend you to ask the owner about some trips he can arrange. The access road is very easy and the hotel have the possibility to park 3-4 cars.

A great find. The owner is delightful and always eager to help. The rooms are modern and big with a lovely breakfast area on the rooftop looking out into the jungle. Roof you’re lucky you might even spot elephants walking past! Would definitely recommend.

A Paridise for all things nature - birds, trees, wildlife and stars, Rumesh’s collection of plants are wonderful and his passion for all things living is enduring and a refreshing change from most business owners! An afternoon/evening spent on the roof top with tea (so many to choose from!) and/or a few beers plus a meal before star gazing is truly magical, with Rumesh’s attentiveness and knowledge and the unspoilt view it will be a memory we will both cherish. Rumesh is happy to help you with all arrangements - kindly arranging a tuk tuk tour including the Dambella cave temple, a stop at a fruit market and a lake (the name escapes me) this was a perfect mid morning outing after Lion Rock. Rumesh is truly the selling point of this place, he has so much love for the environment and his plans make us very excited for what’s to come. For now the room is basic but equipped with all you need, the bed was super comfortable (we slept for 9 hours on our 2nd night!) both a working AC and fan - something we don’t often get here. Being a small place tucked away it promises a peaceful night! Less than a 25 minute walk to the Lion rock ticket office (we strongly recommend getting there for opening!) 10 minutes walk to a cluster of restaurants, tuk tuks and a bus stop. We originally only booked for one night but thanks to the location and Rumesh’s words “this is your home” we stayed for 2. We wish Hotel Bird Paradise every success and want to thank Rumesh for making us feel so welcome, we hope it won’t be too long until we are back again!

Very nice and peaceful place in the middle of the forest in Sigirya. You can enjoy the sound of the birds all day long. We loved our breakfasts and dinners on the roof of the rooms with a lovely view. Ramish was very helpful in giving us tips for our two days in Sigirya. I recommend this place for a short stay in Sigirya.

It’s still being developed so it’s a bit rough and ready but it’s fine for a few nights! I extended my stay by one night. It’s very buggy so if you’re not good with bugs this probably isn’t the place for you

I loved everything; I know that Rumesh is working hard towards a dream of creating beautiful accommodation for visitors. The best way he can achieve this is if people choose to stay here and help him build his dream.

This was much more than great accommodation, the host Rumesh is such a kind person and went out of his way to make my stay a great experience. He is very attentive and knowledgeable and really cares that his guests enjoy their stay in Sigiriya. The accommodation is located in a quiet and tranquil setting, it can be a little hard to find as it’s surrounded by wildlife and nature but once you’re there is a blessing. Birds singing in the trees at breakfast, I sat and enjoyed a lovely breakfast of fresh fruit, pancakes and coffee in the garden with the dappled sunlight through the trees. There was a monkey and a giant squirrel peacefully eating their breakfast together in the trees nearby too, which was so nice to watch. The stars at night were the most I have ever seen from the rooftop of the accommodation, I could have stargazed for hours. The room was really clean and refreshing, the bedding was very comfy and the air conditioning worked great.

This place is so peaceful and in a good location if you wanna go to Sigiriya! But most importantly Rumesh who runs this place is an amazing human being and he will make you feel like home! Really nice owner who is willing to help us with everything. Gave advise for nice tours, arranged a tour to national park for us and really nice breakfast. The property is also fine and if something is not according to expectation, the owner will do everything to change according to the expectations. Highly recommend this place!
