In the end there were some costs we didn't know about, like a service fee, but it wasn't that much. Maybe just make sure in the beginning what you have to pay additionaly (like water bottles)

This place is so quiet and lovely, you have your own terrace and look at the river, the pool is very nice too (maybe not that clean, but clean enough :D). We really enjoyed our stay there, for the price it is awesome! The food was very good too, big portions and very tasty. For two people the room was a good size (2 double beds), but for four people there might be few space... Be aware of the dogs at night and close the gate if you don't want them on your terrace. We also booked our safari with the hotel, it was the cheapest we found and pretty good: 60$ for 6 hours and two people, excluding the entry for the national park. So we can recommend that place for a relaxing time and bird watching, we enjoyed it over there!

the location of hotel is very good for morning safari. The pool is very nice and clean. We had a jeep for safari from the hotel, and it was very good choice. The driver was very nice and helpful, we saw a lot of animals. Breakfest and meals from restaurant were very delicious. Staff was really nice.

The room was dark and could have been more clean. There were some birds, but not the amount what you would expect from the name of the accomodation.

The cottage we had was older, the porch was partially broken. The room was relatively dark and damp, but clean! With the hut we had probably bad luck.

The service was great. The staff was very attentive. The food was very tasty! At the pool we could relax well. Thank you for the laundry service! The best part was the in-house safari with Lasa! :D He was so great, found so many animals and could explain everything to us.

Water in pool could be cleaner

The staff was amazing!!! Two guys helped us with everything ve asked and even with what we just thought about :)) And they prepared a room for us by a special request ( it is our honeymoon and guys brought us fruits and flowers by the check-in time). They are true professionals and great people!! The Garden is great. The restaurant is very tasty.

Absolutely wonderful!! The food, the grounds and the staff were all way above expectation. It was the best food we had in Sri Lanka. We felt really lucky to be able to stay and didn’t want to leave. We also booked two safaris through the hotel both were awesome the driver they arranged went above and beyond to make sure we saw all the animals we could.

I couldn't fault Birds Paradise Inn. It was conveniently close to Udawala National Park for the safari. Really friendly staff, nice comfortable room, nice food and a swimming pool for the kids to play in and entertain themselves. We only stayed the one night but it was perfect for what we needed.

The pictures you see on booking are very old and rooms are a bit rundown. But the worst thing is the very dirty. The light in the room was very uncomfortable as normal lights didn’t have lightbulbs. Then the wifi. No wifi in the rooms and didn’t really work properly even in the common area! We had dinner at this place. AWFUL! My boyfriend ordered tandoori chicken and it was simply fried chicken. I had chicken masala and it was Sri Lankan curry but very bad. Small amount of chicken, too salty. On top of that my rice wasn’t fresh and smelled bad. Location isn’t nice. You just have to eat at the place, the lake is close but nothing to see really. I would recommend staying in the town. We were supposed to stay for 3 nights but changed our reservation and stayed only 1 night and it was the best decision.

Where do I start? This place is the coziest place I have ever stayed in. The room is super clean and has a warm feeling. The staff are beyond amazing. They went above and beyond to give us such an amazing experience. The chef is so talented, and the food was really tasty. Location is perfect to get early in the morning to the national park. Only 2 km away from main entrance. Just a 5 min work to the lake of the national park, where you can see at the sunset the elephants coming. The pool is also perfect after an early morning safari to relax in the afternoon. All together perfect location!

Birds Paradise Inn is an amazing place with bungalows in the middle of a big green garden. In front you have a river. You can see and hear birds, sometimes you also meet a monkey. We loved our stay there surrounded by nature and calmness. The staff was very kind and always helpful. In the morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. We felt very welcome.

Staff were super friendly and helpful and made our stay even better. The pool was really nice and a good size. Room has plenty of space and was clean. Shower was very warm. Restaurant food was very good and priced fairly. Staff arranged safari which was an unreal experience and the price was very good. Lasa, our guide was perfect he knew so much and was great at spotting animals. He was super friendly as well. Communication was very good even from before we arrived. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone planning to stay in the area. Excellent value for money.
