It was a bit far from restaurants and activities. They said they have cars/tuks available to take you but there was none. You felt like you were the only ones at the hotel. The restaurant wasn’t open at night so we had to find alternative ways to get into town to eat. Staff hardly understood English so was hard to communicate

We had a great time at the Hanthana House! The staff was really friendly and helpful. I’m celiac, but there where no problem fixing gluten-free food for breakfast and dinner. They made some delicious homemade curry’s for us in the evening, and the breakfast was also great. The room had a nice view overlooking the forest. The owner, Pati, took us for a sunset hike in the neighborhood, with an amazing view. Would recommend to stay here!

There were electrical issues and the backup generator didn't work properly. Stock in the toilet at night with the power out and no torch in hand☹️ We mentioned this problem several times before we were offered a new room.

The staff were very helpful, but had some problems with the english language..This led to several misunderstandings.

There was very little hot water to shower with. Water pressure was very low. Too many insects around the lights but it could be a seasonal thing

Level of cleaniness We have had several cockroaches in the room, there was undefinable dirt in the shower corners of the bathrooms. Due to the numerous pigeons on the roof daily cleaning of the balcony would be a must. No room service although we stayed three nights. We had to ask for new towels- they brought new ones, these however were not clean. There were many things where it became obvious that the hotel is poorly maintained: holes for power outlets are not properly closed, lights on the staircases were broken, aircon was dripping, mattress was already worn out ... WiFi in the room was not working and very poor in the restaurant area. Water in the shower was cold, especially in the morning.

The view from the balcony and restaurant was excellent. In principle this hotel has a lot of potential. However, the hotel is poorly maintained, especially taking into consideration that it was opened only half a year ago. If the price was lower, the negative points would be acceptable, but the provided pictures/description are misleading. You should not expect too much when booking!

Pest control could have been better. Cockroaches were in the bathroom, insects and geckos were all over the room.

Staff were very friendly and attentive. Such a breathtaking location. They were kind enough to reserve a room with both rocks view - Pidurangala and Sigiriya. Decent sized pool overlooking paddy fields. Divine Lankan style breakfast. Very pleasant stay.

Some minor maintenance issues only a problem if you are really picky or don’t require 4 stars to have a good vacation. The food service was very slow and the dishes are somewhat pricey for what they are. But if you can handle these things, we are all of our meals here and were overall satisfied.

Spectacular setting and location. The view from the suites and pool is incredible. The design is modern and good. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and honestly what we loved most about this place. They really welcomed us, a male couple, and made us feel very comfortable there. The food is overall good. A few menu items could be improved but there is really good variety.

The view from our room was out of the world! This is thee place to go to if youre looking for some peace of mind with so many attractions around. Not even an hour after arriving we booked an additional night because of how beautiful this place was. The room was also very luxurious in compared to the price! As well as the service! Lion specifically was very helpful throughout our stay. All in all our stay was memorable and we would definitely visit again!
