How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The staff! I feel so bad that I cannot remember the owner's name considering how helpful he was. I flew into Sri Lanka on a late flight and went straight to bed. The following morning the owner sat down and chatted to me for the best part of 20 minutes giving me a complete rundown of how to get around Sri Lanka on public transport and what was worth seeing in the country. It was invaluable! He showed me to the bus stop and gave me his mobile and told me to feel free to drop him a message if I had any queries during my stay in Sri Lanka! The private room I stayed in was fantastic value too. You cannot go wrong spending your first night in Sri Lanka at this property!

The host and his staff where very friendly. Made us feel very welcome. Room is simple and clean. We had the non ac type. In Hot weather conditions i would recommend to make a reservation for an ac room.

This place is amazing for the price point. Don't expect to pay $12 and get a 4 star hotel. It is amazing for the price point. The manager waa very friendly too.

Only concern is that the room can get warm as there was no AC but it should be fine for a day
I stayed here on my last day in Sri Lanka to leave for the airport.The rooms are very clean and good. All basic toiletries were available and it was all you need on your transit days.The host was very kind n friendly, helped with early morning tuk tuk for 1500.He also gave good suggestions for eateries nearby which were super convenient and budget friendly.I highly recommend this place 🙂..Airport is just 15 min away and I was traveling solo n felt safe n comfortable here.

Too many mosquitoes, and I say this after traveling throughout SL, somehow the mosquitoes were different here haha! Also, some used soap & empty bottles of toiletries in the bathroom.
A lot of rooms, space is good. The main guy is very helpful & accommodating.

Really clean and comfortable rooms. Mario went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and give us information on Sri Lanka. We stayed here at the start and end of our trip. Good location for the airport.

Facilities should be improve like tooth brush, there was electric kattle but no tea or milk. Water should be added at least two bottle per day

Bed sheets tired and stained. And bed wasn’t very comfy.
Easy to get to from airport (use pick me) and easy to catch bus onwards as on main bus route. Basic breakfast provided (egg on toast). Owner VERY helpful. Gave us history of Sri Lanka and lots of tips that has helped with our trip.

Not the accommodations faults at all - but bakery bile starts at 4.30am with music that wakes you. Also be aware that not all rooms come with air conditioning.
Staff were incredible! Gave us loads of information in the morning - tips/tricks, what’s worth seeing and not etc. Rooms were tidy and a good price.

No AC and no Mosquito Net over the bed so we couldn’t sleep with open window. There is not really a common area to hang around and make friends. The Rooftop has a lot of potential though.
Friendly and helpful staff, everything clean and comfy beds.

Its a little far away from the centre. The Ubers are tricky to get during night and kept cancelling but the host managed to organise some transport for me
The place is really clean, and quiet. The host is amazing i have no words to describe how amazing he is. I stayed here for a night to transit to the airport but really liked it. The rooms are really clean. There is a place to eat just about 5mins away.

The rooms were warm.
The owner was very welcoming and helped me with anything! The staff are very kind! It is located in a small village. You get a nice local feel and quiet. They will pick you up from the airport or drop off. They provide fans for the rooms.

There wasn't anything to not like. It is best value for money.
Very friendly owner who let us check un at midnight and also got uo at 6am to check us out. Great suggestions as well abiut travelling
