Everything was great

We really enjoyed it’s position away from the chaos and noise from the main road but still easy to get around. The grounds are so lush and green , beatiful and peaceful - you almost don’t feel like going out. There are 5-6 units in the garden but designed so that they all feel quite private. Build in colonial style but also very modern. We originally booked for 3 nights, but quickly extended to 5. Ceylon Olive is the best place we have stayed in Sri Lanka. Fantastic staff, fantastic place, own tuk tuk service and such a great family who runs this place. Especially thanks to Kumudu for making our stay so pleasant. We will definetly stay here again on our next visit to Sri Lanka.

Our stay at Ceylon Olive Galle Hotel exceeded all expectations. The hotel was impeccably clean and incredibly comfortable, providing the perfect retreat in Galle. However, what truly made our stay exceptional was the owner, Kumudu, who went above and beyond to ensure our every need was met. His warm hospitality and willingness to accommodate our requests made us feel truly valued. The entire staff mirrored his dedication, and we cannot praise them enough for their excellent service. I wholeheartedly recommend Ceylon Olive Galle Hotel to anyone seeking a memorable stay at a charming boutique hotel in Galle.

This place is absolutely magnificent. Everything about it is superb. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the rooms are very large, well equipped and have the most comfy beds! The property is on a beautifully kept piece of land that is so quiet, but a short tuk tuk from the Fort. Would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so incredibly welcome. The grounds were peaceful, the accomodations spacious and the quality of the place including the breakfast was very high.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ceylon Olive. We travelled there with our 1 year old and it was a nice changeup from staying at hotels on the beach. The room is beautifully designed and spacious. The host is personable and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. There's a onsite tuk-tuk, which is convenient for getting to Galle and Unawatuna.

Clean nice rooms, lovely setting with the garden and pool, nice breakfast and very friendly helpful staff - special shout out to Era who provided the kindest tuktuk shuttle service for us! This location was convenient for us to explore Galle and the beaches south of Galle.

This was our first visit to Sri Lanka. We booked last minute and could not prepare this holiday. The hotel is run as a bed and breakfast, which was exactly what we like. The owner and staff were super friendly and helpful to make our little trip very special and helped create amazing memories. Galle fort, actually a walled little town, has beautiful restored colonial houses turned in very good restaurants, hotels and shops. Beaches are close-by for sun bathing and surfing.

Loved the whole ambience: a quaint bungalow room, pristine swimming pool, rich foliage were great first impressions. The high ceilings & large spacious room for the family reinforced the impression. The host Kumud was friendly and welcoming without being intrusive.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The service was exceptional, and the highlight was definitely the Sri Lankan breakfast featuring the delicious coconut sambal – a definite must-try! The rooms were spacious, surrounded by lush greenery, and impeccably maintained. We particularly loved the large balcony where breakfast was served, offering a lovely touch of tranquility. The location, slightly outside the old fort, was perfect for us. The short tuk-tuk ride through the charming Sri Lankan streets added to the experience, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the local atmosphere and cool down in the breeze. While some reviews mentioned concerns about the hotel’s location, we found it to be a deliberate choice, offering a peaceful retreat away from the tourist crowds. Special mention goes to Kumudu, the owner, who was incredibly responsive. A simple text resulted in a tuk-tuk arriving within minutes, providing convenient transportation to and from the old fort. It was comforting to have a friendly face associated with the hotel for our travels. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to experience authentic Sri Lankan hospitality away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas.

Just wish the location was closer to the fort area, however it was just a tuk tuk ride away.

Very elegant and modern decor, clean lines of architecture coupled with comfortable interiors and lush green exteriors. The linens, bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. To top it all was the host- Kumudu. Extremely attentive and helpful and gentle person. The breakfast was also wonderful and presented in a delightful way.

Kumudu, the owner, was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The room was really big, nicely decorated and the open bathroom was an absolute highlight on our Sri Lanka journey. Also the garden with the nice pool was so beautiful and perfect to relax, being completely surrounded by nature. Would definitely come back!

This is an absolutely gorgeous hotel. The location is perfect, 10 mins from everything in a tuktuk, but away from the madness so wonderfully peaceful. The rooms are so beautiful, really elegant and comfortable. Great breakfast. Lovely quiet garden and pool to relax. This is a gem of a place!

We've spoken to the owner and you can tell he's very invested. He's working on adding more rennovations to the property, adding a larger sign, etc. Paying attention to small details is everything, and he's very evidently working on perfecting his business. Can't wait to see the final look and best of luck!

The location is lovely. It's close to everything in Galle and easily accessible by tuktuk or bike or car. I like that evenings are more quiet and you don't have drunk people walking around at night like you would in the center of the city. Definitely feels safe. The honeymoon suite (Mango) was very spacious and had a lovely outdoor shower. You'd think you would have an issue going to the bathroom at night but you don't. Love the privacy. The room is very clean and the bed is extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious (both continental and Sri Lankan). Staff was very respectful, they always called out and waited on the stairs before entering the balcony. My wife and I love that they paid attention to this detail.

We were upgraded for 2 nights to a very lovely room, but then had to return to our booked room for the next 2 nights.

Very peaceful property close to Galle. Lovely pool, but no other facilities, foreby breakfast, at present. There was, on hand, a tuk-tuk. driver, Era, who cheerfully took us to and from Galle during the day or evening, for a very reasonable charge. (10 - 15 minutes to the clock tower) His wife's number is +94 71 136 0031. Without the tuk tuk it would have been quite isolated, although I'm sure we could have taxi-ed in and out, instead. The village is on the edge of the jungle and we were lucky enough to see a few monkeys and a civet from our balcony.
