Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

New ZealandI booked a tour and was put on a tuktuk where the driver refused to do the full tour at the agreed price. As an apology the manager organised an early morning ride to the railway station the next day.
The manager was very kind and coffee was always offered. The room I had originally booked was very warm so I was able to switch to a smaller room that was cooler for a reduced price. I needed to make a foreign phonecall at one point and a staff member walked around town with me trying to find somewhere I could do that. Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Location is perfect.

Central location, across the road from a great place for breakfast and bar. ( the royal hotel) .The staff were very attentive always offering you a cup of tea or coffee. Sonny was particularly helpful. A very relaxed place to stay

United KingdomBathroom door could do with being replaced but still closes and locks so isn’t that big of an issue. No windows in the rooms so isn’t suitable for a long term stay but the place is perfect for a couple of nights to explore Kandy. Cash only payment for the room.
Super friendly staff and free tea and coffee always offered whenever we returned from three day out. Initially when we checked in the fan in our room didn’t work but within 2 minutes was replaced with a new one. Towels provided. Place is a little rough around the edges but for the price in such a great location you can’t really complain!

GermanyOur room didn't have a window, so it felt quite stuffy in there. If you book it with the shared bathroom remember that you might have to wait around half an hour till you can use it as it has both the toilet and the shower.
The hostel is really central so you can easily reach most of Kandy's sights from here. When we found out that our room didn't have a window the hostel owner brought us a fan.
