More places to hang stuff while in the shower

Clean and peaceful hostel, beautiful garden with a lot of animals to watch like birds, squirrel, mongoose etc. Good location and you can rent bicycles so thats great for visiting the ancient city. The host is very nice and helps you all he can.

Chill House Hostel is a wonderful place to stay in Anuradhapura. It’s a little nature oasis, where you can experience the simplicity of life in a beautiful way and yet being very close to the city and practically located to the bus and train station. Once I arrived there I was truly released that I found this place to recharge and relax and yet it was very easy to go to the city to explore or eat etc. Also it’s located a few footsteps away from a lake. The two hosts are welcoming you with a lot of hospitality and warmth and you easily feel at home and that you could stay there for a long long time. It’s a small hostel with one dorm with four beds, which makes it really charming, because you easily come into contact with the other guests and also the hosts. It’s very clean compared to many other places I have been in Sri Lanka. Just with being there you can observe different kind of birds, squirrels, monkeys and other animals and spend a very relaxing time with chatting and enjoying the moment. The hosts are very helpful and supportive with organising your stay. I highly recommend staying there if you love calm and relaxing places close to nature with a lot of warmth and if you’re curious about a beautiful and simple sri lankan lifestyle. Thank you for the beautiful time I could spend there. I will definitely come again when I visit Sri Lanka again.

In walking distance to new town and the big lake, chill house hostel is like a pearl in the ocean. Far away from noise and business, you’ll discover a peaceful place to be. Jonti and Hopsii are creating an oasis to make people feel comfortable. Whether you come here to spend the day with visiting temples, discovering Anuradhapura or Mihintale or just need a break from the business - you’ll find whatever you need. Spending some time at this magical place I saw a lot of travelers coming and going. It filled me with joy seeing how they could recharge their travel batteries - and so did I. Jonti and Hopsii will make sure to help wherever they can. Their openness and chilled vibe will brighten up your day. Renting a bicycle to discover the old city, go for a swim in the lake, watch the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets, read your book in the hammock, cook at the bonfire, enjoy nice company or have enough space to just be by yourself, watch a real life nature documentary (which is actually just the view of their garden) where you can get the chance to meet woodpeckers, monkeys, mungos, very colorful birds, lizards, squirrels, maybe even the small turtle in their pond and a looooot more - this is a space to explore nature, ceylon vibes, buddhism, good local food and much more. Besides all these things that excited me, you’ll stay at a very clean house with one 4 bed dorm, a spacious kitchen, a clean bathroom, a chilled terrace and a big garden. You can feel how much effort these guys put in creating this place, which is growing day by day. I'm very grateful that I discovered chill house hostel during my stay in Sri Lanka. This place is perfect for backpackers, close to the bus station and to the archeological site, there are some places for eating 5min walking. This place by itself is really pretty, chill, quiet, and clean. There is a little kitchen, good wifi, good beds. You can even rent a bike ! As a solo female traveler I felt really safe and the owners were really nice to me, I loved my stay ! Thank you so much again guys, hope to see you again !

Chill house hostel was great , ideal for backpackers on a budget! Nice friendly people and clean comfortable beds,. Close to the train station about a 5 minute walk.. bus station is close by too! Easy to get to the sacred city from here also.

It has to be specified that the place is super new and it has been running for just a couple of months. I would recommend: - install lockers - divide the dorm from the kitchen - have a second WC/ separate the shower from the WC itself to give 2 hosts the possibility to use it simultaneously
