Owners was very innocent . Place location was superb usefull as wecan walk to town and supermarket . Fuel shed was justone minit away . close by to puja nagaraya too. No disturbings. Very werth for what you pay

A big problem was that the owner tends to tell you to “sit and wait”, which is something unsuitable for travellers who obviously want to explore and stay out and about. There was a kitchenette corner, but it has been dismantled so you won’t have fridge, microwave, cutlery, crockery (maybe if you ask you may be able to use the kitchen downstairs, but I’m not sure and it’s not the same freedom). I also rented a motorbike, which was not working well (the engine was turning off by itself and that led to dangerous moments, also the amount of fuel left was not displayed).

The owner was promptly responsive prior my arrival, though some information was not provided in advance. The hostel is near the old bus station from where busses to Colombo depart, but beware that other busses with other destinations use the new bus station which is 3.5 km distant. The hostel is also near the train station, which unfortunately will not be working for long time (all trains to/from north of Colombo have been cancelled).

Stairway was very narrow and stairs were long that with our backpacks it was a little bit difficult to pass. Bicycle rent could be cheaper as we saw in other cities. Also the bikes were very rusty and old with no good brakes.

Staff were nice, location was good, the room was good and it has ac and hot water with a reasonable price. They also rent bicycles which is very good to go for historical sites.

A bit tricky to reach the first time, better have David on the phone to explain to the driver. The location and the itinerary on Booking are correct though.

A good value for money. Clean room and working shower. Good option for travelling on budget. David is very helpful and has a tuk tuk to drive you around if needed with reasonable cost.

There was a TV in the room but it was not working. At night, I woke up twice with the sound as some one is knocking the window. Later, I figured out that it might be the sounds of squirrels on the tree branch hanging just in front of the window. My sleep was disturbed once again early in the morning because some construction work started on the property that early.

I stayed for one night at David Villa. I can rate my stay as excellent if not as perfect. I traveled to Anuradhapura from Colombo and the AC bus dropped me at such a convenient location that I could easily walk to the property. Its a family run property. David and his wife are nice cooperative and helpful. Regretfully, I could not visit any place in Anuradhapura because of the continuous heavy rain. However for the lunch I found Rangiri Restaurant at walking distance with very good food at reasonable price. At the dinner time it was raining so on my request David arranged a packed Fish Kottu for me that was quite delicious. Next morning he also arranged a tuk tuk for me to the bus stand. It was not far and we reached there within a few minutes.

Nice, clean rooms and toilet. Friendly, helpful owner. Great location, near to the sacred city, train station, but it's not on the main road so it's quiet. Will recommend and stay there again if opportunity arises.
