Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

GermanyThe Lizard safari Lodge is super cool, beautiful room, all wood, mosquito net Jasmine blooming on the way, it’s all there! The owner was friendly but the family living there was the most beautiful encounter I had in Sri Lanka so far. So helpful and welcoming, I had some delicious food and a wonderful experience. Thank you so much for the time!

The room was spacious and it felt a bit like being in a jungle camp, perfect preparation for the safari tour the next day. Host was very friendly and accommodating. He runs safaris in Udawalawe NP and arranged for me to join another group so I could share costs. The half day safari was excellent. He found lots of elephants and other animals stopped long enough to take good photos and enjoy the animals.

Tour with Nandu was excelent, real professional and stops when you want it in the animal park. Also their meals were really excellent dinner and breakfast just jammy. Also he comes to pick you up with his jeep at the bus station included in the prize. No problem with musquitos and he served delicious old Arrack as a real guest and welcome drink together with home made fruit juice. I really recommend his hotel and him as a guide.!

LithuaniaBest Safari guide ever, Nandu (guide and owner of the property) was very nice and calm. Drove us to a lunch place and took us back so we don't have to walk in the heat. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Owner showed us many different animals that we never seen before, very interesting experience. The dinner family made was delicious also.

We booked the room for two nights for a very low price, the room had a great lodge style. The whole family and especially Nandu were really helpful. His mother made the best food, we really enjoyed it. We also booked a safari with Nandu where he did his very best to show us as many animals as possible.

United KingdomI thought my room was the solid room from photos with AC & I got the open room w no walls. So the rain for hours hit the tin metal roof very load. There was rats in the room…due to it being so open.
Staff was helpful - big size rooms. The Mosquito nets are needed but watch as the mosquito inside the nets. I wanted to do a sharing safari to save costs as I’m solo traveller! no one at hotel could help me & I only had choice to book keep to myself which isn’t good! They need find a way to get sharing jeeps for people in the village. As solo travellers, backpackers don’t have £55 to throw at Jeep safaris & it’s a shame as too many jeeps empty in park w 1 person in jeeps & loads seats empty. Not good for animals all these jeeps..

United KingdomThe owner of the property asked if we wanted to purchase a safari package with him, to which we said no as we did not have time. The owner then proceeded to ask us to pay for our breakfast the following morning (breakfast was included in the booking price). The owner falsely advertises prices for rooms online. If you don’t use him for a safari tour then he makes the stay uncomfortable and asks for additional payments from you. We were very disappointed in our stay and made to feel extremely unwelcome once the owner knew we wouldn’t be using his safari services. Our stay has been reported to Booking.com.
