Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

GermanyWe stayed at „Dreamscape home stay“ for 4 nights and we wished could have stayed longer! The family is absolutely amazing! They made the best breakfast for you every morning at a time that suits you the best. It was always plenty of food and absolutely delicious. Every morning we got something different and the mother told us what she will cook for breakfast and asked if it’s okay. When we arrived Mahesh organised his cousin (who is a tuk tuk driver) to pick us up from the train station. When we entered the house we were offered a tea. During the following days This family gave us many tips about kandy but also about the places which are worth to go around kandy. At the first evenings we did a cooking class which was a lot of fun and tasted amazing! We also showed them some recipes from Europe (pasta and how to bake banana bread) and they were so thankful and exited. We also watched a lot of rugby in the evenings (because of the World Cup) and basically had an amazing time. I think we found a second home. So if you want to learn how the people live on this country and to get in touch with the locals this Homestay is perfect. On the other hand they totally respect your privacy. The rooms are big, the bed really comfortable and the bathroom is also good. You have a room outside of your room where is a big table,sofas,books, a balcony… Do not hesitate. Thank you

GermanyThe home stay is located in a beautiful neighborhood of kandy, with breathtaking views from the double-room. mahesh and his family are extremely welcoming, nice and friendly hosts. His mom prepared delicious traditional breakfast for us, accompanied by bleck tea. The room was really clean and had ererything it needed: a fan, a big mosquito net, a dying rack, a private bathroom, etc. Mahesh gave us good tips on what to do in and around the city of kandy, apart from that we shared great conversations. We felt very much at home. It was our first homestay and it couldn‘t have been better. Big recommendation! :)
