best place to be! great location for those who want quiet, highly maintained accommodation at reasonable prices. the breakfast was amazing every day, was diverse and I think it was the best dishes and local food i have eaten in sri Lanka. the host family was super nice and even taught me how to make Sri Lankan food. the view is so beautiful and there is a beautiful garden where they bring the mangoes for breakfast. thank you so much

Some of the rooms have a shared bathroom which wasn't very obvious when booking and one of the rooms was really tiny with a fan that was not very powerful. But all good otherwise.

The location was great, close to 2 beaches. Breakfast was really big and tasty. The place was clean and quiet. The man who was looking after the property was very helpful and nice. The house wasn't completely full while we were there and he let us choose a room that we wanted and he kept the garden and place looking good.

Most friendly and nice hosts we meet in Sri Lanka. Breakfast was so good, Sri Lankan style freshly cooked for us while we were sitting at dining table, so delicious. The property is located on a small, quiet road just 3 min walk to beautiful beach.

The location is close to the beach 5 min walk. Surrounded with a nice garden. The upper floor where we had a AC room has one other non AC room wich was without guests so we felt that we have the upper floor only for us. It was nice, with a nice view and big Windows. Our host was very very kind, made for us delicios and various meals for breakfast every day, and take care of us when we where not feeling good with some traditional medicines to drink and inhalations.

I can easily admit that it's the best place we've stayed in Sri Lanka. It's so clean, spacious and good looking. The breakfasts are huge and various. Really nice shadow spots to sit and chill in the garden. You just need to be carefull with eating outside because there's lots of monkeys. The owner seems to be a little shy but he's so nice! Also you can use the kitchen which is very comfortable and doesn't happen a lot in other guest houses. It's really nice, quiet place which I would recommend with all my heart. Thank you so much 🙏

The only negative I'd mention is the ants in the bathroom; it's not a major thing, and having lived in hot countries appreciate that insects inside are part and parcel, but there were many! The property is also up quite a steep, uneven drive; this wasn't a problem for us - it certainly got our leg muscles working, but worth noting for anyone less mobile.

The hosts at Eco Garden are some of the warmest, most genuine people we've met on our Sri Lankan travels. From welcome drinks to delicious feasts for breakfast, we felt very looked after. Our room was clean, beds comfy, and whilst it didn't have a fridge in the room we were able to use the main one in the kitchen for cold drinks etc. We overlooked that the bathroom was shared when we booked, but actually this wasn't a problem at all, with only one other room to share with, which wasn't occupied for one of the nights we stayed anyhow. Hiriketiya is a gem, and the property is just a few short minutes to the beach, restaurants etc. The views of nature from the property are beautiful, and the local monkeys kept our children entertained too!

What a gem in Hiriketiya! A true homestay. The rooms were spacious, clean and quiet, and we loved feeling like a part of the family. The host was so friendly and saw to our every need, and the breakfast was INCREDIBLE! The location is also perfect - a five minute walk to the beach but away from the main road and with the garden you feel like you are in then jungle.

It is beyond peaceful here!! Tucked away from the main road, with only bird song to be heard but still only walking distance from the beach, restaurants and yoga studios.The family are so warm and welcoming, plus the breakfast is amazing!!! The host, "Mr Eco" and his family are just fantastic people and took care of all of our needs. We made it a habit of always asking them first before carrying out our plans and they would often have good ideas to help us out. Also, simply hanging out in the nice garden is better than a safari: the animals simply come to you.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Upul and his family are wonderful and kind. The room was clean. The garden is cozy and quiet except for the monkeys running around and playing. And let me tell you about the breakfast, which is super delicious and healthy (even though it was way too much to be eaten by one person only). Highly recommended!
