the staff is so kind, I like the service there a lot. Peacocks walking around the garden is a nice experience. Highly recommend it.

Price quality 100% ok!! don't understand all the criticisms described by other guests. if you want to visit elephants in the jungle and you are looking for an average accommodation, this lodge will meet all your needs. friendly staff. a fantastic extensive lunch and sleep in nature. it's basic but fine. access road a bit bumpy but still better than the morning rush hour in London!! get a life !

Place seemed a bit run down, cobwebs in room and a huge spider on the curtain. Our driver would not take his car to the lodge as access road was quite rutted and muddy, so we had to walk to it, through the mud. Host helped carry our luggage. Access to all rooms are down a very steep, uneven and tricky stone path, could be very difficult for those with mobility issues/elderly/young children. Only our host & his elderly 'helper' were on site so service was slow, even though we were the only guests.

Very friendly & helpful host. Good sized accommodation with view of garden & field beyond. Comfy bed, nice to have bottled water, tea & coffee sachets & kettle in room. Close to Udawalawe National Park. Elephant Lodge arranged our safari, our driver and car were excellent. Dinner was tasty, we chose the Sri Lanka curry & rice option. Breakfast was OK

it is extremely close to the Nationalpark so the perfect place if your only staying in udawalawe for one night. the staff was very helpful and friendly and dinner was yummy. our room was nice - we had a nice view the balcony, a big shower, comfy bed and ac as well as a fan. we booked the safari tour with the hotel which was super easy. The guide was friendly as well and explained everything to us. we saw at least 20 elephants and 2 babies - it was a great tour!

other than safari, there’s not much else to do in the area so could use some things to do (like cards, board games, books) to do in the evenings.

Little cabin down a hill overlooking a meadow. Very nice for viewing birds, including peacocks. This is a basic hotel, that being said, the Owners were very hospitable and looked after our every request. Also - Extra points for having hot water in the Shower!

Elephant lodge is great for an overnight stay so you can take a safari at Udawalawe National Park. Hotel staff were able to organise the safarai and make suggestions on the best time to do it . The property is in a quiet secluded location, with the cabins overlooking a reserve. Included breakfast was good quality and you are able to request lunch and dinner as well, as there is no restaurants or shops in the immediate area. Take any snacks, supplies and money with you if you need them whilst there. Overall, a pleasant relaxing stay and nice friendly staff :)

clean rooms in a very tranquil setting. staff are very kind and pleasant. the hotel safari guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable of the animals in the park. breakfast was decent.

house was quite old and tired (definitely needs renovation). Full of different insects.

The Elephant Lodge was fantastic. located in a quiet area, it is a collection of cottages in the middle of the forest, with views over a green park where i could spot peacocks! a short ride to the Udawalawe park entrance! Huge room with all the amenities needed and a nice verandah to enjoy a quiet afternoon. Harindi, the manager, contacted me well in advance to inquire about dinner and lunch preferences. The dinner was fit for a queen and breakfast was also delicious. Most importantly, the two staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I particularly appreciated the small things: for instance, they sent me a photo and a brief message to let me know the room was ready on the morning when i was due to arrive!

As the accomodation is really close to nature, approaching the place (especially in the dark) might be a little challenging. We got every necessary directions, still our driver was a little nervous on the way there. Also it would be really nice if the wi-fi network covered the lodges as well (during our stay internet was available in the welcoming area only).

Communication and welcoming was perfect. We have had asked for arranging a safari for us, which was organized really smoothly. The accomodation was simple, yet stylish and also very clean. Also the staff was very welcoming and helpful. Being so close to nature was also a thing that we really liked.

We had a lovely stay at the Elephant Lodge. The staff were incredibly accommodating - they booked and organised our safari, prepared breakfast, lunch and dinner and always made sure we were happy and enjoying the stay. The room was very clean and the food was delicious! Highly recommend!

The road to the hotel need to be fixed. If you have a vehicle that doesn't have much height please call the hotel and check whether the road has been repaired.

Elephant lodge is a great place and good value for the money you spent. The room was clean and there was a good view out of the balcony. Also the staff were friendly and was at service on demand. The menu options in the hotel was simple but delicious. Moreover , the GM of the hotel was very helpful over the WA from starting point to end. So it is a nice place to stay. I recommend it.

Needed a few more things to do or facilities to make the stay even better.

Wonderful staff from beginning to end. Harsha and Kasun (who prepared the meals which were delicious) could not do enough to make the stay amazing. Hirinda the owner was so incredibly helpful and communicative. The place was gorgeous setting and incredibly quiet and for a chilling and relaxing break it was ideal.

Lovely stay at the Elephant Lodge post our safari tour, only 10 minute drive away and great value for money! Hosts were very friendly and helpful and was perfect for what we needed. Breakfast was amazing, our best one so far in Sri Lanka!!

Wifi was terrible. The Music from the other Hotel was so loud that we couldn‘t sleep. It was not possible to communicate with the staff due to their really bad english knowledge. So we couldn‘t ask for any help about transportation options (Bus, Train,…) Quality of Food could be better and we had our worst sri lnkan breakfast on the Island. See pictures

We were looking for a semi Jungle feeling to match our safari tour in Uduwalawe National Park, and Elephant Lodge was excellent for this purpose. Wild life, especially wild peakcocks from our private terrace. The organized safari tour was perfect.

It was super quiet and in the middle of nature. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We felt like little VIPs, on arrival they asked us already what and when we wanted to have dinner and breakfast. They prepared everything lovely and it was super delicious.
