A bit of a remote location

The property manager spoke perfect english, he was extremely friendly, the welcome was great, and the food was really good! The bathroom was my favorite part! Beautiful outdoorsy shower!

Super clean big and comfortable room with an extraordinary shower. You can feel the quality of the rooms and it´s worth the price. Inside the rooms you can find really everything you need and the balkonies with the view on the river are amazing. Inside the hotel area there is a super nice pool, it´s very quiet and the waiters are always helpful and friendly. They organize safaris for you as well. I would recommend to go there:)

As other reviews said, the wifi didn't work so well (or sometimes at all) and our local sim cards also didn't have service. It wasn't a big deal as we just read and enjoyed nature, but someone who relies on connectivity may struggle.

The room was spacious and the views around the property were beautiful. It was secluded enough that it was quiet and peaceful, but the drive to Udawalawe Park didn't take long.

Steep stairs to get to the children's beds in family room

Lovely hotel that feels like you are in the middle of the jungle. We watched monkeys playing in the trees while we had our breakfast. Staff were great and really looked after us. We organised our safari through the hotel and it was awesome! The safari driver for the hotel is really nice and we had a great experience seeing so many animals.

We found the breakfast very disappointing. The papaya juice and omelette were fine... But no fresh fruit, no grilled tomatoes and the bread was very cheap and stale. We were also told the Sri Lankan breakfast was unavailable because we had to order it the night before... But they didn't mention it the night before when we agreed time for breakfast? Fix the breakfast and this place would be perfect :)

This place is beautiful. Amazing modern and spacious rooms. Air con works great. The views over the river are amazing. The staff were great (sometimes it was tricky because they didn't speak much English) and helped us fix our tuk tuk. The gardens and pool are lovelly too... very clean. Overall a great stay

I can’t say there was anything particular. We have two showers outside which was wonderful, however, one of them could do with a little sprucing up.

A 5 star hotel at hostel pricing, The photos do not do this place justice at all! If you’re looking at places to stay, you really need to book this place. Everything about it was truly beautiful and truly inspiring, The courtyard, the swimming pool, the room, the service and the staff. All of it was impeccable.

The food was good, but a very limited choice for veggies like us. The place is off the beaten track, so no real alternative for meals. Even so, the rest of the hotel experience was so good, we would certainly stay here again!

An exceptionally good place to stay. Beautifully designed buildings with high quality fittings. Rooms were particularly comfortable & clean. Big balconies overlooking a watery view with plenty of wildlife to watch. Excellent pool, kept very clean. Friendly & helpful staff. The highlight was a full-day safari in Udawalawe National Park, organised by the hotel at short notice. The hotel's in-house safari guide, Santha, was simply brilliant. He gave us a very full, relaxed, day of animal & bird watching. His broad knowledge & amazing observational skills combined with a bit of luck made for an unmissable experience. Anyone visiting the National Park can't do better than book both this hotel and a Santha-guided safari.

The hosts were fantastic, they arranged our private safari where we saw lots of elephants. The food is great and really good value. If you want to be at one with nature this is the place for you as we saw lots just sitting on our balcony.

You need hair dryers, both in Quality and Quantity.

They give me complimentary laundry, which is a surprise and a big help for a week of travel. The price of the Safari is very good compared to drivers' sugesstions. The staff are extra friendly

It‘s closed to the river and the reservoir but is far away from streets and noisy places. But the Garlic restaurant is near by.

It feels like a 5-star hotel but the costs were only like a hostel. There is a big pool, nice staff and big rooms. You have to visit it and you need to stay longer than one day.

The Wifi worked poorly at times, and sometimes communication with the staff was a bit complicated. Likewise, they were always very kind to us.

Our stay was very good. The rooms are very spacious, the bed is very comfortable, the showers are really very good and the room has a balcony overlooking the garden/river. The pool is excellent.

Absolutely loved this venue - I only stayed one night and wish I could have stayed longer. The room was beautiful and SO spacious and comfortable, with a huge modern bathroom and shower. We had both breakfast and dinner there and it was absolutely delicious. The view of the river is mesmerising and the staff were so helpful! Loved relaxing by the large pool after a long journey. They also arranged a guided tour for the morning and it was magical. All in all, 10/10 and would go back in a heartbeat for a few days for sure.
