How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Maybe the location was a little far off the main hub
The hosts are friendly and kind. The place is roomy and comfortable. There is a nice kitchen and a large sitting room. Overall great value for what you get.

Unfortunately the AC was not working when we arrived however the host was very quick to help fix it and arranged technicians to come to the property that same evening. The internet didn’t work well for us unfortunately but we were not there long enough for it to be an issue.
Everdrew is very well kept with spacious rooms and a lovely living area. It has a kitchen and washing machine which is very helpful. The host is very attentive and made us pancakes which were delicious. You will need a Tuk Tuk or scooter to get to and from the property as it up a steep hill in a lovely part of the jungle.

I recently stayed at Everdev Kandy and had a fantastic experience! The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making check-in a breeze. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The bed was comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep.

Very clean and comfortable place to stay. Balcony, a very neat common area and a beautiful house. The hosts were very informative, engaging and spoke English perfectly. They helped us during our stay with recommendations for tours tips and tricks about how to go around Kandy and also transport arrangements. Would 100% recommend!

This homestay was absolutely incredible. The family became my family and I am so so thankful that I booked here. The location is great, nestled in the mountain surrounded by nature. The house lounge area and roof were awesome. I was also able to wash my clothes. The hosts were incredibly accommodating, friendly, loving and all around awesome. I made connections with them all, including their beautiful Children. If you are in Kandy and looking for somewhere to stay I 10000% recommend this place. A home away from home and a beautiful way to end my trip. 💜

We really enjoyed our stay here It was definitely our prettiest stay while traveling in Sri Lanka. The host and her family were really nice and their English was also really good. Would definitely recommend booking here!!

The owner is very friendly, honest and loyal. The location is also very close to the supermarket, shops and to the city. It is a very comfortable place and recommended place for especially families and office gangs.

Wonderful stay. Lovely room; the whole property is very clean and modern. The host was extremely helpful and accommodating. They took us to the tea factory and gave us recommendations for local area. Would definitely stay here again. Good location near to the city. More than just a home stay.

We had a great experience of camping night at the rooftop with BBQ. Made a coffee in the right under the tent. Owners were very much helpful to arrange these all. Nice clean place with all facilities.

Every thing good
😁Had a lovely stay at the location. 10 minutes Tuk Tuk drive from Kandy railway station. well equipped kitchen , refrigerator, washing machine, bottle water, cable TV ,AC and wifi were available free for the use. The room and the bathroom were very clean. The host was very helpful and kind. We managed to arrange our own breakfast. Had an amazing panoramic view from the room balcony & rooftop. Highly recommend Everdew Kandy Rooms for a comfortable stay 😁

Had a lovely stay . A calm and quiet location very close to Kandy city. Clean and comfortable room and bathroom . Spacious common indoor lounge and outdoor Patio. Amazing rooftop with panoramic view. Hosts were really welcoming, helpful and friendly. All our needs were provided.
