Also the food is delicious and the place is just a green oasis of peace... thanks for everything Api once I am back will definitely go to your place again. You made me feel welcome and at home.

The place is beautiful located, a little bit outside from Dambulla. The owner and the stuff is really kind and helped with any questions we had. The rooms are clean and the food was delicious, so you have everything you need!

Api and the whole team were very friendly and helped wherever they could. He organised everything for me and everyone made sure I had the best time and felt like home. They also offer dinner in the evening, which I can really recommend since it is really good, a big portion and local but for a low price (around 1500Rs/meal). The bed- and bathroom were spacious and full of light. The view over the fields from the balcony was beautiful and special. The outside area was great for calming down. The main road isn’t far away from the hotel, so perfect to get everywhere, but still I barely heard any traffic.

Tuk tuks to places, but it’s the same in most areas around here!

The host family were the best people you could meet after a long flight. Big smiles and super helpful. The single room was very well priced and exceptionally clean. They have a wonderful little daughter who spoke amazing english and came along on the tuk tuk which the father drove to give me a lift to the dambulla town. Sad I couldn’t stay for longer— best start to my trip!

Minor detail, but the room we booked had a photo with a balcony - and it was listed it was included in the facilities for the room. However, it was one without. We were okay as we weren’t in the room much anyways, and it’s still a great price for what you get. But if this is important to you, maybe just clarify with the host before for no confusion!

Evergreen is at a Beautiful peaceful location just outside the city centre, with a gorgeous view for breakfast, and quiet side street. The host family is super warm and welcoming, including their sweet daughter. We felt right at home hanging out there. And tasty omelet for breakfast! Lastly, one of the employees who works there, Isuru, made our trip complete! He was so kind, and always went the extra mile. He drove us to dambulla cave, as well as sigiriya, and lastly all the way to the train station in Habarana and made sure we made it on time and were well taken care of. He even offered to get us tickets to join him and his brother to the big cricket game (which if we didn’t need to get up at 4:30am - we would have loved to joined!!). If you get a chance and need a friendly guide and driver - be sure to ask for Isuru :))) you will be in the best company!

It would have been useful to have a wardrobe in the room, but that's a minor detail. Wifi was not always very strong.

The location was lovely - slightly out of town but overlooking quiet paddy fields. Can get to town by tuktuk within 5mins (tuktuk drivers charge a lot around here, just something to be mindful of). The owner helped us organise trips to Pidurangala/Sigiriya and Polonaruwa. The food was great. The room was comfortable and the shower was amazing (and hot!).

If you are in Dambulla and don’t come to this place, you are definitely missing out! We booked a two night stay and ended up staying here for 10 whole days because we simply loved it so much! The host, Api, and his wife treated us like family from the beginning. Both were so incredibly kind and helped us with everything we needed. Api even took us to a hike through the Rose Quartz Mountains, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We had an amazing breakfast everyday, where we could either chose a Western option or a Sri Lankan one and both were great. Apis wife also cooked dinner for us several times (rice & curry or biryani) and it was perfect every time. Our room was beautiful and clean with a nice balcony and a spectacular view over the rice fields. There was also the possibility to enter the rooftop terrace from our room. We’ve spent a total of two months traveling Sri Lanka but our stay at Evergreen Hotel will be one of the most memorable! A big thank you to Api & his family ♥️ If we ever come back to Sri Lanka, we definitely know where to go! All the best, Shari & Jonas 🫶🏼
