Minor issue was the ants, but as the place is surrounded by trees and plants I guess that’s unavoidable.

The owner was very professional and kind. He wanted to make sure we’re taken good care of. The ambiance in this place is very comforting. Room was huge. It’s not the newest room, but really great value for the money. Turtle beach was very near and you can watch the baby turtles going into the water- it’s usually around 6 pm. There was lots of fresh fruits in the breakfast, coffee was good too. I also got freshly cooked omelette. There was a small parking just opposite the hotel which is a big advantage as most of the places in this area do t have parking. I’d gladly stay in Finlanka again!

The one thing I would mention is bring earplugs, the train can be a little noisy.

The family at Finlanka were incredible during our stay. Great location and the Sri Lankan breakfast was the best food we had in Sri Lanka.

We had a very pleasant stay at Finlanka! The owners and staff were so sweet and welcoming and we enjoyed the pool very much! The location is perfect too and the rooms are big! Another plus is that they have a very cute and calm dog :))

I fell in love with this place! I cancelled my next accomodation so I could stay here longer. The owner and his wife are so hospitable and go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as can be. The breakfast in the morning was incredible! The best breakfast I’ve had in Sri Lanka. I loved the pool area, it’s like a little jungle oasis. Even after checking out the owner let me stay all day by the pool and borrow snorkels to go to the beach. Then gave me a lift to the bus station! Thank you for making my stay in hikkaduwa! 🙏

There are a lot of insects in the rooms, cockroaches and ants. There is no pressure or hot water in the shower. There is a railway running right next to the hotel, making it impossible to sleep. The air conditioner blows directly in our faces, we got sick because of this, and it doesn’t help with the humidity in the room.

I really liked the attitude of the hotel owner and staff towards the guests. They were friendly and helped with everything. very responsive and kind people. breakfasts were good, filling and tasty

The train tracks are really close and it's really loud. They go a few times during the day, but also at night, so if you have a light sleep, you'll wake up quite a lot.

Spacious room with comfortable bed and a balcony. The shower has good pressure, and there's hot water. Great breakfast buffet style. Very nice and helpful staff.

The property is more of a hostel than a hotel (for instance, the shower is not in the room): taking into account this, the price is perhaps a bit high for Lankan standards, although probably in line with other places in Hikkaduwa.

Exceedingly nice, talkative, friendly owner. He went that far and even drove to the fish market, bought some fresh fish and had it cooked - off menu - for our lunch. Nice environment and many cute dogs. Very nice vibes in the interaction with all workers.
