The best way to get some food in the town or around is via tuk tuk ride, but this is an acceptable tradeoff for the monkey viewing.

The monkeys are awesome to view in the morning, afternoon and evening. Don't keep anything (especially phones and such) outside. The private (!!) safari tour was arranged by the hosts with their jeep. We had a great breakfast during the tour at a gorgeous lake. Good communication via the chat about the safari. Great and comfortabel room which suited all our needs. Good shower. The hosts are kind and stay on monkey watch while you have breakfast. This was one of our most favorite places to stay in Sri Lanka.

Nice cold welcome drink on arrival, excellent aircon. Owners very friendly and helpful, organised our safari and offered to give us lift to restaurant in the evening. Could sit outside for hours watching the monkeys play! Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

WiFi was a bit hit and miss at times but good excuse to detox!

Stunning setting, rooms back onto forest, and the safari starts as soon as you arrive with the cheeky monkeys! The family could not be more hospitable, welcoming and friendly. The rooms are very spacious, clean, good A/C, super comfy bed. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and they even packed us up a takeaway breakfast and took us to the bus early morning. Also booked safari through them which was exceptional. Could not recommend anymore.

The room is incredibly good, the best we had in Sri Lanka so far. Seeing the monkeys from our room was attractive for our son. Janith and his family have a really special place. The safari organiser with them works really well and the driver Suhesh, was incredible, he tried hard to find the animals and explain everything to us. The breakfast after the safari was another plus, it was really tasty and the best one so far. Thanks you guys, we loved our stay.

Slightly limited options for lunch/dinner nearby but we found a lovely cafe that we went back to several times and I think this would be true of most places in the area surrounding the national park!

Lovely clean rooms right by the forest and friendly staff who organised our safari trip for us, meaning we could pay through the hotel. Great breakfast too!

Great room with a good view of the forest outside including views of monkeys, peacocks and other birds during the day. The host was great too and he sorted out a great safari into Udawalele, was accommodating around sorting out a gluten free breakfast for my partner and helped with a great restaurant recommendations and transport onwards for us too!

The location is about a 20 minute walk into town where ATMs and grocery shops are - Janith did offer us a lift into town though so not necessarily a bad thing, just something to note

The safari with Suresh was excellent and good value for a four hour trip. Janith was the perfect host, communicative without being pushy and very attentive to our needs. Breakfast was also very delicious.

In common with other reviews we felt the accommodation was excellent being very clean and comfortable with an excellent breakfast. We took a Safari tour arranged by the owner. This was brilliant-Suresh, the driver, was highly knowledgeable. We saw lots of elephants, birds and crocodiles. Last but not least the villa owner Janith was extremely helpful including our arrangements for onward transport.

One of the best accommodations we had so far in Sri Lanka! The bedroom looks exactly like on the pictures, spotless clean, new and well equipped. This is a hidden gem in the area. We travelled from Canada and decided to go by what other travellers had said and glad we stayed here. The staff found out it was our anniversary and went out of their way to decorate our room - a lovely touch. The place is clean, the room was pristine, the breakfast is good and the staff are excellent. The hotel has its own safari jeep and we organized everything with them, it was probably the best thing we did. We’d go back.
