A charming heritage building with a wonderful collection of antiques and photographs. The well tended garden is visited by birds, squirrels and monkeys! The Sri Lankan breakfast is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. If you’re looking for cleanliness, comfort and extraordinary value for money, this fits the bill.

Standard triple room without AC was quite smudged, moist with many cockroaches, ants and mosquitos. We then upgraded to deluxe triple and it was completely different league. Clean walls, newer equipment, clean bathroom. Thanks again for allowing us to move our things right in the morning.

Allowed for early check in, very appreciated it.

Owner very helpful, but initially quite pushy in trying to sell his tour of the city

Lovely old property with some beautiful furniture. Very close to lake,10/15 min walk to town. No mosquito net in room but when I asked the owner gave me a plug in repellant which worked great

Very cool, authentic place that's close to the city yet in a quiet area. Our room was clean and very big. The place is nicely decorated and reveals a lot of history about Kandy and Sri Lanka. Ample space inside and outside to relax. The breakfast was okay. The owners were sooo friendly and helpful. They offered some sightseeing tours in Kandy without being pushy. We're sorry we could only stay for one night.

The bathroom was spacious but had a few (bigger) inhabitants other than us.

The hosts were increadibly kind. The breakfast (we choose a Sir Lankan Option) was the best we had provided by an accomodation so far. We liked the House and that it was decorated with great taste.

This place is beautiful, the day we arrived there was very heavy rain, and there was a small leak in one of our rooms, but the room was changed with no problem at all. Breakfast is good, and the garden area is lovely. Good wifi and lots of old, retro items in the commun areas.

    I wish I stayed longer.

This bungalow property stole my heart with its large garden and heritage bungalow right next to Kandy Lake. The convenience of walking to nearby spots made our stay even more enjoyable. The team's friendliness made us feel right at home, and let's talk about breakfast - absolutely scrumptious! The freshness of their cooking was undeniable, adding an extra layer of joy to each meal. Clean, cozy rooms at such an affordable rate, especially during the busy season, made this stay a real steal. I only wish we had more time to extend our stay - one or two extra nights would have been perfect! If you're in Kandy, don't miss out on the delightful experience Fortuna Heritage Home has to offer!

Our stay at Fortuna Heritage Home was such a find! The garden around the heritage bungalow, just next to Kandy Lake, was a lovely spot to unwind. Walking to Kandy's main spots was a breeze from there. The service was super friendly, and breakfast was a treat. You could taste the freshness in every dish, and the staff's warmth made it even better. Rooms were clean and comfy, and the pricing was a win, especially given how crazy expensive places get in Kandy during peak season. We seriously wished we had more time to stay, maybe even squeeze in another night or two! Overall, Fortuna Heritage Home is a solid choice in Kandy, offering a good blend of comfort, convenience, and value. Would definitely recommend it to fellow travelers!

Continental breakfast is rather poor compared to local one so we recommend asking for Sri Lankan breakfast.

Friendly and helpful staff, good location ( in the center but still a quiet place), clean and spacious rooms. We stayed in a separate building next to the main one which proved to be an advantage as it was calm and we were not disturbed by other guests having breakfast in the main building hall in the morning.

I think some of the fixtures and fittings particularly in the bedroom are in need of some repair and attention. I had a temporary issue with my toilet but this was seen to and solved.

The actual building itself which is pretty much in its original state with antique objects, fixtures and fittings. The shared living area is relaxed and I really liked the music playing in the background. The couple managing Fortuna are lovely and always available to help. The location of Fortuna is spot on with easy access to the lake, the Temple and main shopping street and provides peace and quiet and contact with nature. My breakfasts and evening meal were freshly prepared and good.

We had quite some musquitos in the room and there is no net to protect. The breakfast is very simple with 1 egg and white toast but nice as its offered for free.

Good location, walking distance to city center and temple. Hideout restaurant just around the corner. Place is nicely decorated and staff incredibly friendly

Unfortunately, being a colonial villa, the building is not in the perfect condition, you can see it is old and not maintained perfectly, I understand it is super expensive to renovate a place like that and keep the spirit. It was not a big problem for us, the bed was clean and comfy, but for some people looking for higher standard it can be an issue.

The place has a nice atmosphere with the old colonial spirit and all that old furniture. The rooms are spacious, the bathroom huge. It is a 15 min walk from the centre and the temple , it is located just by the lake. We only stayed one night and it was OK.
