Could have done with a good clean

Good breakfast close to the beach - which was quite shabby

The name Frangipani Beach Villa is deceiving as it is not a villa. Refrigerator did not work,

The lounge and restaurant are located right next to the beach. The rooms are located more land-inwards. The room interior met all our requirements except that the refrigerator did not work. Noteworthy was that the bed was equipped with a mosquito net, although we did not notice any mosquitos. We had airco and ceiling fan, hot water cooker with tea/coffee/sugar/creamer. Western breakfast was quite good with fruit juice, fruit platter, omelet, toast, butter and jam. The main activity for the hotel guests is sunbathing and swimming. And watching locals hauling in the long and heavy fishing-nets onto the beach while inviting tourists to participate in the haul. But I declined as I did not want to take jobs away from the local inhabitants.

The food was not great and neither were the drinks, I ordered a pina colada and it was sour and lumpy, and we also had coffees that were not very good. So I would advise to eat elsewhere

Once there is no sun there is no hot water. It smells of mold.

The personnel did not show us around during check-in and did not tell us when is breakfast time. The AC in our room was not working, we could move to another room but they just gave us the key and we had to prepare the room ourselves. Then, we spent another 40 mins on trying to get warm water which did not happen so we ended up with NO WARM WATER one night and slightly warm water the next day. Breakfast was okay but we ordered kortu and noodles with seafood for dinner and it was not good. Plus, the cutlery was dirty and the service was not satisfactory (while they charge 10% by default for it). Oh, and they claim to have a pool while there is NO POOL.

Location is right next to the beach where you can swim. You get to eat breakfast in front of the ocean.

There is no pool, they want to make you believe that the accommodation has a pool but in reality, it is 100-200m away in another hotel. Also, the place where the pool is still in construction works, so there are no sun beds, drinks, cleanings,.. Better to say that there is no pool at all. The location isn't that bad but probably too close to an estuary and city. Deluxe room has no sea view, if you want sea view you have to book family room. Please change the water of the aquarium!

I liked how close to the beach it is. The apartment was clean with great bathroom. The food was also good.

The bed had the worst 2 nights sleep on a very thin, uncomfortable mattress. The bed is in an awkward spot, so it is difficult to get to the bathroom. The aircon wasn't working they had to regas it and the power board wasn't working. Things to check when you have confirmed guests arriving.

If you like the relentless sound of the pounding Indian this is great spot. We had a great balcony overlooking the ocean. The breakfast was very good sitting in the restaurant which overlooks the ocean.We only had breakfast, but its in a good location with lots of local restaurants nearby who serve great food.

The dinner we took was so so and definitely not worth the price. But the breakfast was great.

The hosts did their best to please us. You can go directly to the beach from the hotel and the view is very nice. The breakfast was very good

The corner of Tangalle that it is located in was full of men hanging out on the streets calling things and staring. A weird vibe. Wouldn’t recommend for female travelers in off season.

Pool not located within the premises even though it's stated on bookings.com. Food is average and pricey.

Lovely location by the sea and the staff have been friendly.

We booked the budget room which is up some very rickety stairs that don’t seem 100% safe. There is no AC in the room we booked so it’s very warm. The biggest red flag though is that the manager seems to try and trick people into paying more than the agreed price by giving different exchange rates that include the bank fees that he has to pay (or something like this). We challenged this and ended up paying in Euro. Whilst he accepted this he was a little rude about it.

Nice location and view of the ocean. Good breakfast! If you stay there you get free use of the sun beds which you would otherwise pay for.

mild uncertainty with the bill, if you are paying in rupees it might be more than you thought it was going to be depending on the exchange rate that day, recommend paying in dollars, pounds or euros if possible. really terrible WiFi, can only really receive WhatsApp’s at a push, I had to hot spot off my Sri Lankan sim.

Pool is NOT in the hotel but approx. 10 min. walk without anything around, through damn of stones (with kids is terrible). Watch out and read the description because pictures should show it 'explicite'! More families were disappointed. We got different rooms in the beginning than booked - if we didn't ask for compensation we wouldn't get it, counted with single penny, normally in other places we would get at least free beer. Tours and transfers from the hotel much overpriced than in other places. WiFi - working only sometimes

Breakfast very good. Location on the beach amazing. Manager very pleasant guy, owner less. Rooms inside comfy.
