Beautiful setting felt like you were in the country. Lovely helpful friendly owners. Helped us to get the bus to Kandy the next day. Lovely pool area.

The pool was clean, warm and refreshing. Our dinner accommodated us as vegetarians beautifully. Very attentive staff. Breakfast was beyond expectations - a banquet and again the staff were very attentive. A lovely stay.

not all of the staff spoke even basic English.

The hotel is in closed area with nice garden, which was very conveniet. All the staff was extremely friendly, however not all of them spoke English, but the receptionist did. They brought us extra towels when we went to swimming pool (without us asking) :). We also rented bikes for free during our stay. They were old, but sufficient to ride around the city, to visit the temples etc. They arranged for us a tuktuk trip to Sigiriya and took us to bus station and helped us to get the right bus to Kandy when we were leaving (for free). the breakfast was very big, we got standard fresh fruits, toasts, eggs, but also typical srilankan dishes as well as the best coconut pancakes (roti). the service was overall amazing.

I booked the hotel for 1 night but I spent the whole day by enjoying the nature beauty and relaxing in the pool. Sunny day with a cold beverage makes my day, although had an evening ride by a bicycle to the caves in Dambulla They organized a bus to kandy and even drop me to the bus station The family and staff was brilliant, room was very pleasant, one of the best clam and relaxing spot ever been in Dambulla

Staff in breakfast serve didn’t understand english, so challenge to get my point through. If you have special requests make sure you deal with the lady who can speak english.

The room was super nice, clean, fresh air quolity, good to sleep! Included a fridge and a/c. Pool is big and nice, pool area is lovely and plenty of space.I really enjoyed my stay and highly recommend this place.

When I checked out nobody told me that is not paid ( I thought it’s charged from my card) I even stayed 3 hours at the pool after check out . When I left ( on my way to another city ) I received a message that it’s not paid and I have to come back to pay TODAY! Didn’t give me any option for online payment, the back account number which was sent to me wasn’t regular IBAN so I couldn’t do transfer via my account. So I had to find out a way to send them the amount while keep receiving messages that I MUST PAY TODAY !!! So I had to find the bank which is the same as their account and transfer the money . Was quite overwhelming and frustrating. Please ASK FOR THE PAYMENT ON TIME . As it’s not my responsibility that you didn’t say anything neither on arrival nor departure

Lots of showers in Sri Lanka, like the Freedom Hotel, have no separate shower cubicle. I hate paddling about in the bathroom after a shower. Otherwise all good.

It's the swimming pool that made this hotel great. After a day of sightseeing it was lovely to take a dip in the pool to cool off. They even supply pool towels. The hotel itself was good with a nice spacious clean room with coffee and tea making facilities. There was a large complimentary bottle of water on arrival and they also gave us another. There were little bottles of shampoo and conditioner and a small bar of soap. The shower was hot and worked well, but no separate cubicle so the whole bathroom got a soaking. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. The hotel is in a good location for the town and it about a one and a half kilometre walk to the Golden Temple. We would recommend Manj Restaurant & Bar for a beer and an evening meal as everything is cooked fresh and very reasonably priced. Their fries and curry leaves as a snack with a beer are amazingly delicious.

Amazing staff, great breakfast, nice and clean room. The pool was refreshing and clean. They helped us arrange a safari, a 5:00 am tutuk for a sunrise hike, they drove us to many places for free and also arranged an ac bus to Kandy. The owner's daughter was really sweet and helpful.

Yes there are mosquitoes (like in many other places) The staff went on a mosquito hunting mission before we got to our room, and there was a brand new mosquito net

The owner Ajith made us feel like we had a dad in Sri Lanka! The team were very attentive to offer us the best stay possible, and travels as needed. Ajith even took us to a local spice shop instead of the overpriced touristy shops, thank you!

Everything was super, large room and bathroom, balcony, fridge, ample plugs, and lighting. Welcome drinks and home made Sri Lankan treats were delightful. Breakfast was very good. (Sri Lankan coffee and breakfast, as well as fresh fruit, juice, as well. Staff lovely. Pool clean and refreshing. Family extremely helpful A driver we had used in the past was supposed to send a colleague for our next stop but no one showed up. Our host took extra care to find us a replacement. Thank you sir! Previous two days àn excellent tuk tuk driver took us on day excursions., again set up by the host family.. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

The small touches like the welcoming glass of juice on arrival, free bottle of water and fridge, tea kettle in the room. The staff are very friendly and helpful. And of course the large pool is a god send after a hot day of walking or biking.

The only thing that is needed is some more loungers for around the pool as there weren't many and these quickly filled up.....but this was a minor matter and this may well be planned anyway.

The location of being just outside the main town is excellent as it makes it much quieter, but it is only a short walk - about 200 meters - via a route through the grounds to the main bus stand and town. The owners and staff were superb... helpful, friendly and couldn't have been better in their advice and proactive support with restaurants and travel.....us and other guests were given complimentary rides to bus stops, restaurants and the Dambulla Golden Cave Temple. The swimming pool was excellent and breakfast was very plentiful. We had the standard double rooms which were large, clean, comfortable and had kettles, tea, coffee and fridges. These were topped up by the staff who came to the rooms checking on what we needed.
