Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United KingdomCan't think of anything apart from sporadically successful internet connection which is not the fault of the hotel in any way whatsoever but a nationwide issue.
Gem Fields Rest Hotel has got to be the most convenient hotel for anyone passing through or staying in Rathnapura. Whether you are travelling by car or public transport the hotel works well being just a short walk from the town centre. At the same time it is far enough away from the hubbub to feel calm, almost rural. Bhanu is a fabulous host who goes out of his way to ensure his guests enjoy their stay. Brilliant breakfasts which can be provided to personal taste are served on the lovely balcony overlooking the garden. Bhanu is a wealth of information on local sights and the Sri Lankan culture in general. For the gem aficianado he will point you in the right direction and alert you to the do's and don'ts of negotiation.

United StatesI have been visiting Rathnapura for so long and stayed with “Bhanu” several times as well, but this time with “Bhanu” it was so special because he has added a new building or a “Gem Buying Office” in the Hotel Premises which is an added value to the Hotel, it was so convenient and safe for us while purchasing Gems. In the meantime, he has built a shared kitchen on the Hotel Premises, which anyone can use and was so useful since I loved to prepare my own meals without spices.

United KingdomNice, large and clean room with a beautiful garden surrounded the building, the big balcony was so relaxing. The host was really helpful. The Gem Market is only two minutes walk. You could explore the whole Gem Industry, Mines, Lapidaries, Labs, Gem Heat Treatments, the Gem Market etc. while staying at “Gem Field Rest” for a few days. No doubt, a great place for gem buying.

United KingdomThe host is really helpful. Great Location for Gem Buying, Ratnapura Gem Market is only a hundred meters away from the Hotel. A very modern “ Gem Buying Office “ is located just in front of the premises. The host “Bhanu” organizes genuine gem supplies to bring their stone to the “ Gem Buying Office “ and show the Gems to us. We were so impressed with these arrangements, especially with the current pandemic situation we were more safe, unlike going to the gem market, we were not surrounded and exposed to hundreds of people, we were relaxed and mostly very safe, Bhanu organized to get the Gem Testing Certificates before buying gems. This is a great place to visit if you plan to buy Gems from Sri Lanka.
